Something very pure and beautiful to this biopic. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a jenius of an actor, as always. Managed to capture Elvis's childlike essence. So beautiful.
Can we all just stop putting JRM down? I think he did a good job playing Elvis. He's a good actor and did a nice portrayal of Elvis. We don't have to compare him to anyone else. Aren't we here to listen to how he sang instead of dragging him for his accent and voice? He's a good actor and did a great job.
I remember watching this on TV and thinking Jonathan Rhys Meyers did a great job! I watched and liked the earlier tv movie with Kurt Russell, too. But Austin Butler's embodiment in 2022's Elvis movie was beyond incredible and has set the bar impossibly high for anyone to follow. Elvis will always be an incredible inspiration in the world, and all kudos to him.
I know he don’t saline just like Elvis but there’s somethin about this where it’s still just as enjoyable. Just seeing them having fun and them playing and singing.

Hell of a good movie! Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks like him, even he lack a couple of inches in height. He's thin so it almost doesn't show. He manged to speak like Elvis as well. And the singing comes near, but the original will always be the best, of course. There is only one king of rock & roll through eternity and you know his name.

But he couldn't get the acting, characterization, movements and singing the same or similar to Elvis right, Austin Butler managed that, I can even say that even Kurt Russell was similar too.
I can't remember the actor's name that played Sam Phillips but the way he gets so fired up when "Elvis" starts singing blues... it will never not be funny as hell to me
Jonathan Rhys Meyers was not perfect, but he was very good, and as far as looks go, he was the closest to Elvis. I wish you used the other clip when he is in a black leather jacket, and Jonathan literally looks like Elvis's twin in this scene! Butler acted great but Butler looked nothing like Elvis.
Austin Butler's performance as Elvis in the 2022 film Elvis is better than Jonathan Rhys Meyers's in the 2005 miniseries Elvis because Butler's portrayal is more authentic and committed. Butler sang many of the songs himself, adding realism and emotional depth, while Rhys Meyers lip-synced. Butler's careful preparation captured Elvis's mannerisms and charisma convincingly, unlike Rhys Meyers's less accurate portrayal. Baz Luhrmann's direction also helped highlight Butler's talent, making his performance more acclaimed. In the end, looks are nothing compared to the depth and authenticity of a performance.
@actor123456789 it is harbor lights, but it was recorded the same day as that's all right... july 5th, 1954. philips sold elvis' contract to rca in december of 1955, so by 56 elvis was recording exclusively for rca and except for the posthumously released "million dollar quartet" session he never recorded with sun records again.

Kurt Russell played Elvis 2 years later after he died in a movie after he kicked his shin
JRM was the only actor that I felt that expressed an energy similar to the Elvis' in the musical numbers.
Its called an opinion fcko... deal w it.
