My wife had endo very bad. She dealt with it for 10 years and finally said enough. She had everything except 1 ovary removed. The endo came back 5 years later and 3 months ago she had it cleaned up again. Her ovary measured 3.5 inches due to the size of the cyst. My wifes health was worth more having kids. Good luck!

I personally appreciate you both being so open and sharing all of your experiences with endometriosis. People like you on UA-cam and Reddit are literally how I have been able to learn so much of what others with endo are going through. It can be such a lonely disease and so many of us are brushed off as you were with your pain before Italy. I’m so happy you found a doctor who validated your pain and made an action plan on how to treat it. Pretty crazy that we (need to) consider going to other countries for help with our pain. Best
    Of luck to you both!

Endometriosis is a horrible painful disease but in most instances it is not life threatening like endometrial cancer which I just pasted my 20 year survivor anniversary. I was 45 when I was diagnosed and fortunately I was at an early stage. But, because this is considered an estrogen feeding cancer I could not take hormone replacement post op, and several months later I went into a surgical menopause from hell. But this was a small price to pay as my total hysterectomy saved my life. Wish Jessi and all other women suffering from female organs diseases healing.

I’ve been with my wife for 22 years and with endo. Some of the best stuff that worked for her was getting rid of all soy hidden soy like vegetable oil in the US is just soy oil. Avoid bleached flour and enriched wheat flour in the US also. Eliminating those were some of the biggest things we did for her. Our three children are also from IVF.

I worked with one of thee best infertility doctors in SA for 6 years. We saw many cases of Endometriosis. I myself had Adenomyosis, which is where the uterine cells grow into the uterus. 3 things I would mention that the doctor I worked for used. The first was "Indocyanine green". This was used during surgery to illuminate areas of Endometriosis to make sure he didn't miss any areas. Second is Lupron. This would lower the Estrogen level to help "dry up" endometriosis. Thirdly was when birth control was needed for a patient with endometriosis, we made sure it was a Progesterone only birth control. We didn't want to "feed" to endometriosis. The journey of infertility is a long and painful one. You are brave to share it with the world and I pray for the best results.

I am happy for you that you had a positive experience in Verona.
When i had my operation (maybe by the same doctor, i dont remember the name), it was still in the old building. I was lucky, i had a 2pers room with private bathroom. The bigger rooms had bathrooms in the hallway.
But the my main memory of the event is the following.
When i was just back from surgery, and immobile in the bed, there was an earthquake. Nothing major, but still, the building was shaking and there was a sound coming from inside the ground as a roaring lion.
The elderly lady in the bed next to me kept screaming: o dio o dio un terremoto. The nurses started to evacuate the building, but left me alone in the room because i could not yet be moved. That was a bit scary, to be left alone.
But very quickly everything went back to normal.
I wish you all the best during your recovery, and hopefully we see you back in Italy soon.

Knowing your journey is so helpful to other women struggling with endometriosis and fertility. Like you said, knowing the options out there. Thank you for sharing it all!
I have a MRI today for my endometriosis that was diagnosed in 2022. I started having pain after my son’s birth when I was 19 years old, 5 years ago. I’ve had two laparoscopic surgeries; 2020 due to a ruptured cyst and 2022 to have endometrial tissue removed in three areas. Both times I was crying in pain at home from the gas so I was so surprised to see you handling the pain well. This year I’ve switched to a hospital that’s two hours away from me and has a endometriosis department!🙏 Last month the new hospital did blood work and a pelvic ultrasound. They saw issues with my left ovary and uterus and adhesions. The stomach and lower back pain never got better after my 2022 surgery, but my main concern for getting checked out again is the leg pain that comes and goes. They suspect deep infiltrating endo due to where I had tissue removed from in 2022. I’m praying for decent results in the coming days.😊 Trying to get it all figured out before trying for those 10 kids haha.❤️

So glad things are progressing well. I understand the language issues in the hospital. I live in a very French area in Canada so surgeries etc over the years have been challenging. The doctors normally are bilingual but the nurses not as much (about 1/5 can speak fairly well the others really vary…. As my French has improved it’s gotten a little easier but when you are not well it is far more difficult to communicate in your second language).

I am so happy that both of your were very happy on the outcome of your experience in an Italian hospital and surgery. Speedy recovery Jessi. Take extra care of yourself. Even if you are not in pain; things in there are still tender.

Although unfortunate, my wife and I are going through the EXACT same things. The endo, the tube removals, long surgery, and now IVF.
Having friendly, happy faces to relate to has helped a little along the way.
God bless friends. And thank you for being so brave to share your story

Jessi you'll be fine I'm a lot older than you and I just had pelvic prolapse extensive surgery. Thankfully I had a young doctor and she was fast but it was still an hour and a half surgery. I also was tested for covid in the the US. I didn't have a chest either. I came out of the surgery flying colors and I healed faster than I expected for a older woman. You're young and healthy and you will be just fine. I won't say I wasn't in pain but the surgery I had was more painful than a hip replacement and a knee replacement. Good luck keep up posted. ❤

Jessi & Alessio- I am thinking of you both and sending lots of well wishes for Jesssi’s recovery. I know she has the best caregiver ❤ I loved the sneaking in treats! 😂 I had heard of endometriosis but I never knew what that entailed until seeing your struggles. You are walking through this emotional and difficult journey with such grace and strength, you are both truly such an inspiration. ❤ I sincerely hope that all your dreams come true❤❤❤

It sounds like really good news. Honestly, it sounds like you got better, more comprehensive care in Italy.... And compression stockings are a fantastic idea for all surgical patients to help prevent blood clots while you are not quite as mobile during recovery! I'm so excited for the next step in your fertility journey! Sending lots of baby dust and bundles of joy energy to you both🩷💙🩷💙

In Italy they're pretty much mandatory -men and women- for all the major surgeries. And, depending on the hospital and surgery, you must keep them on even for days.
6 years ago I had a 4-5hours long surgery, I stayed 5 days but I had to keep my stocking on for like..more than a week? while still doing anti-coagulant shots at home.
      I still have them!
