This little 3.0 LZ0 Duramax is a FANTASTIC powerplant. I have a 2023 Silverado with lots of towing miles in the Colorado mountains. Powerful, efficient, quiet, and reliable, I highly recommend this engine to anyone shopping for halftons
One of the best diesel engines around! Manufacturers need to get their prices back to 2019. With overall vehicle inventory approaching 3 million up from 850,000 just 18 months ago they had better get their act together.
You can get a decent spec'd elevation for ~47ish K. Not the best deal around, but they gave me 35K for my 2020 (bought for 41K) which sweetened the deal quite a bit. This particular truck has a options all over the place....
Tow mirrors on the Max Trailering Package are optional. I just got a special order 3.0 max tow package put together and I decided against the tow mirrors. I've been towing for years with the regular mirrors and they work just fine. My 2019 max tow didn't even have trailer mirrors as an option back then.
This is the exact truck I want. This is the perfect halfton truck. Anyway you could do a towing test with an enclosed trailer? Dealers are you paying attention. Please order more 6.5ft beds with max trailering package.
Great presentation! I have read great reviews with the Silverado 1500, ZR2 model for comfort and power. However, I have also noticed several websites talking about the excess loss of oil for every 1,000 miles with the LZ0 3.0 Duramax Diesel and when you're towing. There is a rumor that from PPE, a prototype Charge Can will be soon available to catch the oil and prevent it from entering the turbo. Have you noticed this lost of diesel oil with LZ0 diesel engine? Steve from Western Mass.
What do you need a 2 speed transfer case if you're not going off road and crawling? I have the 2 speed transfer case and have yet to use it. I tried it once just to see where the rpms would be at normal cruising speed.
This is a silly answer on my part, but low range has come in handy when I want to pull a post out of the ground. Tried with my Frontier in 4wd and it wouldn't pull it out even when pushing the converter... Switched to low range and barely gave it throttle and pulled it right now. Not that common, but small things like that make me want to have low range even though I may not use it often.
I can’t get over the ugly wheel wells on this truck.. The side view is awful. Partial round and partial slanted is stupid. No other truck manufacturer does this.

Agree 100%
But they won't. Greed is an evil mistress who won't easily let go.

I remember the Max Trailering package came with tow mirrors. It's how you could tell at a glance if a 1500 had it.
And the option for it is less than $400. I think all max tow half ton trucks should come equipped with them

2024 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Elevation 3.0L Duramax Diesel 10-Speed Automatic Crew Cab Long Bed 4X4!
GMC does make some lovely trucks, they have such great aesthetics.
Oh, and for April Fool's Day, can you review a Power Wheel kiddie truck?
Now the only reason we buy 3/4 tons is for the bed length. Its painful to have to tow a trailer for everything we used to just use the truck for.

Insane GMC Ben !! ❤❤
Best engine you can get right now
What is the difference between this gmc and chevy pickup trucks. Basically between the two its the same truck differenct badge.
Yes, essentially the same way it's always been. The GMCs have traditionally started with more options, but they're all GM trucks.
@dman357 I just like the front end look better on the GMC. However, I could get over it on a Chevy for the right price and options. LOL
$69k for that feels crazy. Was there any incentives or dealer discounts? Would be crazy if that was the out the door price
These trucks are wonderful. And a true cream puff with the 6.5ft bed.
Is a cream puff of a truck a good thing?
Prices are insane. I bought a fully loaded LTZ Z71 with the 6.5 ft. bed for half that amount a few years ago.
no you didn't. Maybe 8 years ago
Cool. Want a cookie?

The epa numbers seem to be the same but does anyone know if the max tow pack affects the MPGs on a day to day drive?
This is the exact truck I want but add the sun roof.

Correction, that a Prototype Catch Can. Thank you.

Nice looking truck
Ben Hardy's copy and paste car reviews. 😂😂😂
not as bad as raiti's copy and paste
I like diesel engines pickup trucks
Great truck. That's the one you should get for yourself. From the front, if you squint hard enough, it even kind of looks like you, Ben. 😄🤭
