- For 2024 the GMC Sierra 1500 has several great options to chose between for trim packages and powertrains. The elevation package seems to be a high value option and offers a lot of bang for the buck.
Three different trucks with different Interior options with different powertrain options! I hope you find this video helpful.

I have a 2021 crewcab Z71 RST 3.0 4x4 standard bed. I'm averaging 30+ mpg & 700 miles to a tank. (Highway miles).. d.e.f usage minimal and zero mechanical issues. 10spd transmission shifts smooth & is super quiet on the highway. Throttle response is great & low end torque is strong. I paid 52k new & have zero regrets. Plan on purchasing a yukon with the 3.0 baby duramax for my wife. LM2 motor is a beast & I'm at 46k miles so far....
Awesome!! They are great engines! Thanks for watching!
Tried and True 5.3 for me. I'm on my 2nd 5.3 now in my 2015 and had a 2000 previously. All great trucks its just what meets your needs. Great video.
Thanks for sharing, and for watching!
People don't buy a V8 for gas mileage. I would never buy a full size with a 4 cyl. Just my opinion.
So far, I love my 5.3 elevation. Ride comfort is a 10 out of 10! The infotainment system is top of the line. I've had mine for about a year. My version was the 2022 refresh. Luckily for me, mine doesn't have the fuel chip also.
Thats a nice truck you have! They knocked it out of the park, thanks for watching!
I’m thinking about trading in my 2024 RAM laramie for a 2024 elevation.
Is the drive on the elevation tight, and not shaky?
What is a feul chip?
@@chrisoconnor3119I'm curious about that also..
I have the 24 Elevation with the Turbomax. I like it so far. Had a 2020 6.2 which I didn’t love but covid times made my money back. Getting almost 22 mpg so far with about 1,800 miles on it
Awesome, great engine!
Why didn't you love the 6.2?
@@qwikz28 lifter issues.
Just bought the 2024 1500 Elevation X31 package with the 3.0 Duramax. Where I live diesel is 3.72 a gallon. On average I get 25 mpg. Hopefully I made the right choice!
I’m looking for the same setup. Did you have to order yours?
@@dopeboyp3487 No. I was able to find it on carfax.
I've been averaging 30 mpg on my 2023 Hotshot fuel treatment & Amsoil
How is the road noise when on the freeway or higher speeds?
@@shmoe7731 Not bad. It comes with all terrain tires
I like that you showed mpg at 52 mph .
Thanks for watching, I try to show MPG at multiple speeds so people what they could expect. I typically show 50mph range and 70mph range.
Great comparison. ($60 grand and you get a spray in bed liner and cupholders, amazing….)
Right on
Bought the AT4 Duramax 2 weeks ago. It's great to be able to hit 27-29mpg on highway. I traded in 2022 Canyon for it.
Incredible. Such an incredible power train!
nice upgrade :)
Thoughts on the 3.0 vs 5.3 for a DD hoping to maximize longevity? I love the idea of the torque and mileage on the 3.0 but worry it may be more problematic/expensive to repair down the road than the 5.3. How do you like/compare them vs a non-hybrid tundra?
I like the new Tundra Twin turbo V6. Good power and fuel economy. 5.3 is tough to beat from a track record of long term durability, but the new 3.0 seems to addressed a lot of the earlier concerns like timing belt and oil consumption/leaks. Thats a tough question, I could go either way. I think I would trust the 5.3 a little more for long term durability than the 3.0 or the Tundra twin turbo.
@@CTECH-REVIEW interesting…whether or not the lifter issues are overblown in the gm v8’s, I think the repair and/or replacement costs are significantly less than some other engines like the tundra’s ttv6…think it probably plays into the long term reliability is also repair-ability. Do you have a favorite half ton in general and favorite powertrain?
Me in my 6.2 just laughing cause i get smiles per gallon!😂😂😂❤
Heck ya!
How do you make sense of the optioning of those trucks? Who buys an Elevation for AT4 MSRP and 62k for an SLE? That’s insanity. Anyways, thanks for the MPG review, good stuff.
Its wild times for MSRP on all trucks right now, no doubt about it! Thanks for watching!
Finally the deals are coming. I just put a deposit down on a 4x4 Elevation with premium package. 5.3L...12k OFF MSRP. No joke. Brand new. 53.5K.
I’m thinking about getting the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 elevation for my first ever truck what do you think, is that a good choice ?
Thank you for watching, I think the Elevation (with the convienence package) is a high value trim option. Best of luck!
@@CTECH-REVIEW thanks
@@CTECH-REVIEWThis is a great video Brother… Thank you for taking out the time to help us make a more informed decision. What does the Convenience Package offer, and what’s the cost of adding it?

No prolbem man happy to help! thats what its all about. Looks like you get some nice features like center console and some more interior goodies! @@dopeboyp3487
Downside of the 6.2 is more likely engine failure and you have to run premium fuel for the 11.2 compression. 20 bucks more a tank to get slightly worse mpg.
Thank you for watching! good comment!
What is regenning? Never heard that term used on something other than an electric car
It’s part of the exhaust cleaning process in a modern diesel. You get worse fuel economy when that process is underway! Thank you for watching!
Just bought a 2024 sierra 1500 elevation 5.3l V8. Hope I made a good decision. Beautiful truck, drives great. I keep seeing mixed reviews about every truck on each UA-cam video i watch. Chevy transmission concerns, gmc transmission concerns, ram engine concerns.. what’s the real deal here? lol..
You bought a nice truck, congrats. Seems like the GM 10 sp is solid! Enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
@@CTECH-REVIEW Thanks brother. Great review also btw. Stay safe.
I have a 2016 with the 5.3 no problems at all great truck
The 6.2 is nice but it requires premium, that $1.00 more per gallon where I live.
Great point, Thanks for watching!
how long did that regen take? it is my only concern and my only hesitation to buying it.
Thanks for watching! It didn't seem all that bad. Most regens run from 10-30 minutes. I wouldn't let that hold you back...it happens 1 time every 500 miles if your not towing heavy enough to get a passive regen.
It's just a little stinky for 10 minutes, no big deal.
You never really set the cruise control at a steady speed why?
Thanks for watching, I have talked about this in other videos, sometimes cruise make them get worse fuel economy I have found. I should investigate again!
I’m still debating on whether to get a 3.0 Diesel or a V8 Gas.
That is a tough question! I don’t think you could lose with either option
Get the 3.0 diesel u won’t regret it.
@@crojo3232 thanks for the advice. Do you have any experience with it?
With diesel the fuel economy is waayyyyyy better. I had the 5.3 trail boss and now I have the 3.0 Duramax GMC Sierra x31 and it’s like night and day with fuel.
@@crojo3232 That’s one of the reasons I’ll buy it. Once again thank you.
Diesel is more expensive than gas where I live so, I’m not sure if the 3.0L mpg advantage would even matter…..
Good point, and that is important to know! Thanks for watching!
I remember the days diesel being 40 cents cheaper then gas
Diesels suck now due to gov regulations. Not only the price of diesel but you got to deal with def and the EGR system which destroys them.
How
Thanks for watching!
Their unpainted frames freaks me out. Up here in the northeast with all the road salt, scares me. They use wax. You can scrape it off with your fingernail.
Thanks for watching! Some people like it, some people dont. I have heard pros and cons to each option!
Do not purchase the 2.7 whatever ya people do. Complete garbage
Thanks for watching
I agree! I don't think a 4 cylinder should be in a half ton American truck at all, turbo or no turbo! Seems the 3.0 diesel is a way better choice(at 28+mpg) unless you prefer v8 power then it's 5.3 for it's long existence & 'reliability'. I'm not a GM guy, nor a 1\2 ton guy but I'd pick the Duramax in a GMC truck.
@tdotw77 I love the 5.3 but now after driving the 5.3 I wish I went with the diesel at4
