Great (p)review as always. Seems like we are getting an old fashioned AC from a character and world design perspective but mechanically it still very much has the post Origins DNA. Very dissapointing for me but nevertheless I am always excited for delving into yet another an historical setting. Virtual tourism aspect of these games is what keeps me coming back to this series.

Please answer me this are the gameplay montages fast-forwarded? Cause it seems the parkour and combat here is a bit faster than it was when the first gameplay demo came out.

I'm not much of a stealthy person so I'll probably die a lot 😂 Looking forward to getting the parry timing right for combat. Was always my favorite thing to do in the first AC. Wish there were more counter animations though. In a lot of videos I've seen, it didn't seem like there were that many compared to the first game.
So does basim only have one counter after he parries?

Does he sprint during parkour or just jog?
There's a slight sprint function on L3. Doesn't feel like it makes a massive speed difference when doing parkour.

Ubisoft is in a sorry state.
Why?
I was planning on getting this for PS5 but after the realisation of the idiotic combat system still being predominantly in place, It will now be PC as only modders can fix that shit. Step in the right direction, yes, but not enough of a step that is needed or that was implied by ubisoft themselves when advertising.
I feel you on this one. A recent replay of Syndicate really highlighted how much I preferred the old ways of combat.
@@GrizGaming 100% Animations where so much better, seems to be with these rpg style games, the animation of most actions take a huge hit.. weve gone from clean, satisfying counters and double Assassinations and Assassination combos to this. So many titles in so many genres have gone drastically down hill with this need for quantity over quality. Fingers crossed for future though 🤞
tbf they were pretty transparent with Mirage being intended as a dlc at first (the price tag indicates it), so I wasn’t expecting a huge difference from previous couple of entries, but I get what you’re saying
@@alestrska2253 Yeah, you are right like and at the start when i first heard it was coming out i had expectations at all, way to go when it comes to ubisoft, but the gameplay trailer with the one hit kills and parry system got me unusually optimistic so then when i came back down to earth and realised from this guys video that it wasnt improved/altered as much as i thought it was, it was a bigger shock that it usually is. If that makes any sense. Just annoys me though that they have this gem of an IP/universe/world&story and they ruin it with childish animations and mechanics! Imagine AC with the realism of an RDR2 or TLOU, that's the standard it should be for me. Gritty, immersive but instead we get immature skins and abilities conbined with clunky combat animations and enemies who have health bars bigger than me cock! Proper shame man!
