This is my first year getting into turkey hunting and watching this video so far has gotten me to make the best sounds out of my new mouth call yet so thanks!!!
Been struggling for a couple days trying to make a sound. Watched some tutorials and just couldn't do it, but as soon as you explained everything I got a weird noise to come out and could not be happier. Thanks for the help man!
I've watched about 100 videos trying to use my turkey call. All the big companies and master callers. You and your son have taught me more in 10 minutes than the last 2 days! Nobody else actually explains where to exactly put the call and where to keep your tongue. I am at least making some noise now. Thank youse very much!!!
@@JaseOutdoors Hey what's going on? I'm better than I was but still not very good. Idk it's like me trying to play a guitar. It just doesn't happen lol. But I'm back to practicing and I'm pretty good with my slate call now. Thank you for asking!
I didn’t think I’d get over the tickle either. I finally learned to put the tip of my tongue past the reeds and it was comfortable. Exactly what you were saying the whole time.
Just try putting it to the roof of your mouth using your tongue and sing a song. At some point it will make a sound. Just pay attention what you're doing when the sound happens and try to recreate that. Also could be a tough call you have and try a different one. Hope that helps!
Sweet ! Thanks man. My wife is just beginning. We are having a hard time finding one small enough for her though. I just got a junior call and its still a bit large.
Use a box call? 😉 Maybe look for a small frame call. They're harder to find but something smaller might help. Or you can try cutting the tape so it's not so big. The call should be sitting just behind your teeth on the roof of your mouth. I'll try and dig for a better answer but let me know if that helps!
😂 it's not easy. Matter of fact, I'm launching my own line of calls that are designed for beginners or anyone having trouble. Simple easy to blow mouth calls, if you're interested.
@@genekind8752 I haven't even announced it yet. You're basically the first person I told. I just received my shipment yesterday and have to figure out how to sell them outside of TikTok. I will let you know!
Guys, this isn't something youre gonna get overnight. Or overmonth for that matter. Keep a couple calls in your truck and PRACTICE every time you're driving. Dont get discouraged, nothing good happens fast. I have given up a few times over the years and I end up trying again and this year I really made some progress. Just like hunting man, you're not gonna get it by giving up. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. If I got it, anyone can.
Keep at it! Takes a lot of practice. Yea, a 3 reed call is a big tougher to learn on. Ellis is a champion turkey caller so he can make any call sound good
I haven't used any in a long time, but I recently bought a two reed call for my kid made by H&S Strut. Has a smaller frame also but any 2 reed call should be good to learn on

I can’t suck
That was the most I laughed in a long time!!! Great memories you're creating!!! Thank you!!

@@JaseOutdoors thanks I'm binging it ! Can't figure how to get the "raspyness" but I'm not so far!
Takes a lot of practice and a lot of experimenting with different calls. Keep at it!

Good stuff. Trying to teach my son as well and he sounds just like yours. I prefer box calls but I want him to know how to use all the calls.
We all had to start somewhere

When you said to try to talk is what did it for me
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I like to know what works for people
Is this going to be a ever day upload or just Every now and then
It should be every day for a few days. Depends on how my internet wants to be. Sometimes it won't upload the videos. Hah
Ok thanks brother
Soo cute! Thank you!
😁
i have been trying for over 2 weeks now and can only make a noise when the call is sticking out of my mouth a little bit any suggestions?

Super helpful and entertaining with y’all two gentlemen thank you both
Awesome! Thank you for writing!
Help Ed so much thx
Good to hear! Thank you
What if you have a very small roof? I cannot get this thing ON the roof of my mouth 😪 I have cut it down as small as i can...
You'll want to look for a small frame call. Think HS Strut makes one. I got one for my kid
@@JaseOutdoors thank you.
You trueley help me
Glad to hear! Thanks!
You ever end up making your own calls for beginners?
Sure did!
If you'd like to try em, shoot me a PM on Jase Outdoors Facebook or Instagram
Sweet ! Thanks man. My wife is just beginning. We are having a hard time finding one small enough for her though. I just got a junior call and its still a bit large.
how do you cut the call
Scissors. Just take very little off at a time. Just a little bit makes a big difference
That kid is seriously about to inhale that thing
Yea, but he's doin ok
Everytime i put the call in it gags me any advice on how to fix that?

Great so now I've determined an 8 yo child can use a mouth call better than me. 🤣😂

For him I would recommend a woodhaven mini green v
Thanks! I haven't tried any Woodhaven calls yet but I know people seem to like them. Thanks for watching!

I still can’t do it :( but it’s only day 1 still
I acc bought the blades v by Scott Ellis 3 reed cal and its super hard for a beginner

I’ve had the call in my mouth upside down for the past 15 min🤦🏼😂
hah! That's ok, the good news now is it should be much easier to blow!
Almost 6 k
👍
Not everyone can call penguins with a mouth call! :)
🤣. Might come in handy one day
Am I the only one that still doesn’t know how to blow the air up and make a noise
Hah! It's ok, takes a lot of practice. Try to hiss like a cat. Just find a way to make noise and eventually you'll figure out how to move the air.
video is unwatchable to learn anything
Unwatchable how?
