    • @annemarie1454
      @annemarie1454 2 роки тому +8

      I think the magic ring is very weak support, It is a one strand ring and I suspect it won't be strong enough to hold up well.. I don't trust it, so I always use the chain 4 ring. I have the same refusal when the tutorial asks for using the last chain of a chain 4, as the ring and the remaining 3 chains as a a DC. I never ever do that, it is so flimsy.

    1. Create magic knot
    2. Chain 4 and merge into 1st chain
    3. Create a slip stich
    Round 1
    4. Chain 3 ( this is the first DC)
    5. Create 11 more double crochets ( so total 12 DC)
    6. Slip stich into the top chain of the first DC
    7. Cut the yarn and weave into the wxisting stiches
    Round 2
    8. Add the new color into one of the gaps by creating a slip note
    9. Create 12 pop corn stiches with 2 chain stiches in between
    10. At the end, slip stich into the top of the first pop corn stich. Cut the yarn and weave into it
    Round 3
    11. 3 DC into the first and second gaps
    12. Into the next gap, 3 triple crochets, 2 chain , 3 triple crochets again
    14. Continue this pattern till the end.

    best tutorial on youtube. ever. so easy, no (unnecessary) cuts, straight to the point with no useless nonsense, fact and tips only. i love it.
    as a person with autism and adhd, its very hard to follow almost any tutorial because of the nonsense inbetween steps. this was SO easy for me to follow, with hardly any experience. i just went "i want a daisy square cardigan" and instead of struggling i just made a bag full of daisies and am starting to turn them into squares!! its so exciting for me, this is a hyperfixation that actually worked out.
    thank you so much for your calming voice and simple instructions. i made them with no unnecessary stress. (i always stress over new things a little bit. its good, keeps me in check!!)

    • @LullabyLodge
      @LullabyLodge  25 днів тому +1

      This is very easy to do, just put a granny cluster (3dc in same sp) between each granny cluster from the previous row and 3dc, ch2, 3dc in each corner. Or instead you can put one dc in each stitch across the sides and then 2dc, ch2, 2dc in each corner, for a more solid looking square.

    What stitches would I use for a second background row, I generally use trebles only in granny squares, not the double trebles you use in the corners. ( UK terms) would I need to follow the same as the row you finish your block with. It is a lovely pattern, I’d just like the squares a little bigger. Also do you have a tutorial for joining them? The background music is annoying and distracting- maybe it's just me being neurodivergent? I had to switch to another video, I tried another of yours and it's the same music. Shame as they're really great videos.

    Can we use any type of yarn??

    • @LullabyLodge

      That would depend on what you mean by "type". You can use any gauge traditional yarn as long as you use the hook size recommended on your yarn ball band. "Fashion" yarns such as fluffy or bobbly types are not suitable...
