Only those who are prepared to stand and fight, can sail around in the space of night.
That opening scene is just a tad inspired by BSG Razor
What struck me about the dark eldar was that I'm so used to them being described as cackling psychopaths that seeing them portrayed as businesslike and disciplined was actually kind of refreshing.
And seeing the leader stricken with fear was the absolute gem. Those animals deserve no mercy
Straight to she who thirst with them
What struck me is that they're never refereed to as "cackling psychopaths" other than a few smallish groups. They're mostly always labeled as more sadistic than anything, big difference.
Harlequins are the cackling ones. Drukari are cold and calculating in their brutality.
This was really a step above the Angels of Death Season 1. My favourite part is probably the haunting echo of the ships machine spirit "vengeance...Vengeance... VENGEANCE!"
The ship knew its captain was dead, and while we don't know the relationship between the two, its anger of the loss was all consuming.
From what we know, the relationship between a ship's spirit and their captain is comparable to true friends who would sacrifice for the other, brothers who would go to hell and back if the other is with them, and in some cases, even lovers.
So, for me at least, is obvious that the ship would be hellbent to avenge its captain, for it it call "vengeance... vengeance.... vengeance" no other option considered, no other option in existence, but vengeance.
but how did the captain die?
@@charlesballiet7074 probably from the attacks on the ship probably made his body give out
this episode was really good and shows how good the human aspect of 40k can be.
My god the animation for this was amazing. Those facial expressions when she enters the machine spirit.
Those deckgun crewmen took a boatload of really bad people screaming into the warp with them. A good death is it's own reward.
Great breakdown. As a Navy Vet, love to see the portrayal of the average voidsmen of the Imperial Navy or Astartes fleets in this case.
"On some level it's preferable to have your soul evaporate into the warp then be captured by chaos or xenos and tortured for eternity."
One my favorite 'unofficial' 40k stories masterfully read out by ***A vox in the void*** is "all the gods are dead." It follows a humble vegetable farmer who hid under a floorboard rather then die in a futile firefight with a band of marauding Slanneshi cultists. In order to survive he dons an iron mask and the rags of dead a marauder and follow the raiders disguised as one of them. All along the way he feels disgust and hate towards them constantly praying to the Emperor and biding his time for when he can escape the raiders and surrender to the local PDF.
As he forced to watch endless horrors it wears down his soul to the point he's begin to actively participate in the assaults and sieges feeling like a powerful warrior. All while rationalizing that in his heart he's still loyal and has "no choice" as he guns down defending PDF, laughing as he drunkenly watches raider pull down imperial statues and *grapes* "their stone lovers", while hungerly enjoying spiced human meats. In the end only death can cleanse his soul.
Holy shit. This was the first of these I've seen and that was epic!
I tried to find where to start in this universe and listened to the first few chapters of an audio book a few years ago but changed jobs and lost spare time.
...I'm gonna have to try again
Check out all the playlists! Including less than 10 lore and Hammer and Bolter
"Any objections?" "Nah, we good."
Loved this episode, very much looks like someone has read Shadowpoint, which is an excellent book by the way. Glad to see the speech/mouth connection is getting better too.
I guess “ saving many lives as we can” is never in an imperial officer objective
This was a great teaser for the next season. Every time you look past the bolter porn 40k really delivers.
The silent panic on the enemy ship with all the alarms going off was fuckin great 😎👍
Cate Blanchette would make a great ship mistress in a liveaction movie.
Troooo
Omg great casting!!! I was thinking whom could play her.
Love how they wrote Sulkan. She is a powderkeg of a Ship Mistress. A true daughter of the Blood.
gotta say, at first i was doubting her. Glad i was wrong, was a very nice episode.
I think the Ship Mistress's VA is the same VA for Annetteia Crawl in the audiobook: Saturnine.
WOW, the characterization, story, visuals. Great Job!
Your break down is soo on point. Thank you for everything !
I love 40k void warfare and how it's becoming more grounded in real science. 20 years ago I doubt much thought would've been given to heat management on a Strike Cruiser by the writers. Now that people are generally more aware of the less fantastical realities of space combat, they're making a point to factor this into the writing. A damaged heat sink would absolutely prevent a ship from firing it's weapons safely (or at all). Great to see more of how a macrocannon operates too, although those look like torpedoes they loaded
I'am gonna look up the ship mistress voice actress because she certainly voiced a sister of battle in a audio book series
As well as a Sister of Battle in 9th Ed. trailer.
And Sulla in Ciaphas series. And many others. Her voice is godly...
@@HTWW yup she did
The Dark Eldar looked really good. Too bad they didn't get a chance board the ship so we could see them in action.
Kinda late but you can see DE in action in Iron Within, and then get absolutely demolished by IW
after learning about the machine spirits, it makes me look at all sorts of common machines with new....respect
i love your angels of death videos, sad the other ones got taken down, comment for the comment gods Thanks Conor
We’re gonna redo the old ones in a higher quality
Well, lucky for the Sword of Baal that the drukhari ship approached from the angle it did.
And the whole gunnery deck blew up, wouldn't those huge shells just cause secondary explosions that would rip the ship apart?
They did gut the ship with the secondary explosions
Love this epissode and that it was uploaded to their UA-cam channel
Outstanding!
Dangggggg what an episode. Love the well what are we waiting for moment. 40 k is so good
It's funny that a IP with such a small female fan base does the strong female character better than other media that makes "women are SO powerful" their flagship motif.
As for me, I fell in love with this chick when she just shot that guy. I'm always the one going "Oh jeez, get rid of THAT guy.." or "He's gonna be a problem. They should kill him now before it gets worse." at the beginning of every horror survival movie with one of THOSE guys (pretty much all of them). I think the second Saw movie was the most egregious in that regard. And idk how many ppl watched It Comes at Night but that movie traumatized me. Especially having yelled "Omg, just leave. Don't stay with these ppl!" for two hours. Yeah... Rant over
Although I understand the pleasure of seeing a no nonsense, pragmatic strong female protagonist, I felt quite the opposite to be honest. To me, There was no nuance in the way the characters were portrayed in that first part, neither him nor her. I thought it felt very contrived, the guy was to be a coward and the girl was going to get her girl boss moment, no matter what. I found the smirk of the second officer extremely cringey as well. The rest of the episode was quite nice otherwise, especially the merging with the ship. A matter of taste and personnal experiences I guess.
Beautiful. The words have eternal meaning. I love this.
Merry Christmas All. And all the best for 23. Thank you Counterpoints30K enjoying the vids.
Thank you for watching!
17:58 The depth of emotions, still one of my favorite episodes.
i didnt expect this one
Yeah I'm gonna need more. Thanks
I love all of this 😍
The story of the crewmen was really good how they can just decide to give their life for the greater survival of everyone else in an instant.
Multiple Macrocannon fire means that not only one crew team is back to position....but all. Faceless, nameless heros
Love your breakdowns dude. Comment for the comment gods!

Nice work
Thank you I try!
her discourse at the end really hits hard
She’s a good character and well acted
I hope they do more with her. She is awesome
Great stuff, as ever. As a neophyte to 40k but another theology and philosophy nerd, I have a question - is the God Emperor seen as both divine and human, or just possessing of one inseparable nature?
To my understanding, he is seen as a god and is above that of a regular human.
However, there are some who know him as simply a powerful human being, such as the Space Marines, who aren't religious (with the major exception of the Black Templars) and see him as just 'The Emperor' and not 'The God Emperor', because their Primarchs would have told them he was just The Emperor.
The other faction that doesn't see him as divine is the Adeptus Custodes, as they are his personal guard and therefore know more than anyone else that he was indeed just a powerful human and honour his decree that he not be referred to as a god.
Technically, his (currently) only remaining loyalist Primarch, Guilliman of the Ultramarines, also doesn't view him as a god, but like the Custodes it's because he knows the truth of the matter.
But to everyone else in the Imperium, he is this godlike being that watches over them all and leads them through their darkest hours.
What Aidan said
@@RhantheSlayer Perfect, thank you!
Awesome
Those are some big shells. They one tapped a ship.
the broadside cannons are called MACRO cannons, not bombardemnt cannons, these are mounted midship deck along the "spine" of a ship.... just an FYI
been grate at end speech one npc starts to slow clap
"Life as a menial worker in the Imperium is british..." definitely
Beautiful ❤️
I can't help but see Cate Blanchet (actress who played Hela in Thor Ragnarok) when i look at the ship mistress XD
I want to believe in the next 38-39,000 years, there will still be good men doing the right thing
So does this happen after the events of Angels of Death, if so, where is Kazarion and the others?
"For those we cherish we die in glory"
Comment for the machine spirit algorithm
i will admit; this made me want to actually consider spend money on Warhammer tv
God Emperor protects us all !
q buen episodio, muy humano y enfocado en los pobres mortales q dieron su vida
I cant help but cringe a little when she said "mistress" lol
What I don't get is how they actually managed to destroy the Dark Eldar ship, no Strike Cruiser Mk. currently available to the Imperium is able to even clear the clear the shields of a Dhrukari Cruiser in a single salvo, and that's by design as the Space Marines aren't supposed to be Void autonomous anymore following the Heresy.
Granted, Dark Eldar shields aren't voidshields like others use, but they employ a passive camouflage that messes with visual and electronic identification, even at close ranges. It's also a cruiser, just like the Space Marine Strike Cruiser, Eldar or not it still carries quite a bit of armor and redundant systems.
Also, I believe Richard's crew made a canonicity mistake here, they referred to the guns as Bombardment Cannons, but those are always turret mounted on the prow of the ship in a Strike Cruiser, and even Battle Barges, which are much larger, have them as turrets along the spines (up to two or maybe three turrets with a single cannon each, IIRC) precisely because they're liable to blowing up if pushed to their limits in combat, so not the kind of thing you want on your hull. Strike Cruiser variants can only hull-mount up to medium macro-cannons (which are much, much weaker), and even then in lesser numbers than even the Dauntless light cruisers of the Imperial Navy.
It's not a brawler by any means, they're just vessels for dumping a bunch of astartes on a target through Assault Boats, Boarding Torpedos and Drop Pods, without Space Marines a Strike Cruiser is a sitting duck.
comment for the comment god. But, seriously, glad the algorithm pushed your content into my feed.
Welcome aboard!
I have to ask, what’s the overall point of the WH 40K author’s are trying to make? I can give Dune’s overall point in two words, the Golden Path.
Let me double you: THERE IS ONLY WAR
Different authors make different points, it's a setting with multiple very different factions with different motivations and goals, and books can cover a variety of genres, so it would be hard to just state one. But if there is something generally universal to the 40K setting, it's probably war.
There is no victory without sacrificing something...it's just the way it is....remember this
Livia Solken is a badass
It appears my comment disappeared? But if those dark elder raiders hit the ship like the homunculi suggested they would have overwhelmed them but because they fed around and found out they took a face full of macro battery shells up close and personal that melted their ship to atomized remains.
W
here were the Astartes?
Lol. I know right? They got dropped off at a big battle and couldn’t make it.
I didn’t know Daft Punk was apart of the dark Eldar
Wow and AWEsome

Somebody said that the enthroned corpse commands it, and you must die for it. And then some people claims that Nurgal had some poisonous influence. What an irony.

The tyranids remind me of the Zerg from StarCraft
StarCraft was supposed to be a 40K game
Exposure date versus release date. Warhammer dates back to the 70s, while Starcraft appeared in the 90s. You simply learned of Warhammer 40k later.

Anyone else noticing in that the women in these warhammer + productions, seem to be more alpha than the makes. I first noticed in iron within..

I am enjoying these animations, and I am curious about Warhammer+ or w/e, but I can't bring myself to justify giving the money.. after the models, after what they did to dawn of war 3, after obliterating TTS and the Angry Marine mod. It seems the bodies GW surrounds itself with care about the world and the IP, they just wanna rake in.

can you please also link to stuff you are watching? there are 10 links of your socials, donations, sponsors but NOT A SINGLE LINK of the content you are watching. it feels unethical and weird at this point (which I don't think would be your intention)
That’s because it’s on an application you have to pay for bud. No link exists and I talk about the app in the intro.
