The scene where she was looking at the dead bodies to find her boyfriend really terrified me, probably because of Saoirse's great acting, you could really feel her character break apart. Same with the scene where she was running through the woods and someone attacked her (I think?? Honestly, it's been years since I watched it, so I don't really remember). But it's also the overall mood, which I think is rather depressing. I guess what really terrified me about the movie is that it depicted war in such a realistic but also gruesome way and showed the emotional effect it has on human beings.
