      This is such an accurate description. He's just amazing. He seems like a hodgepodge of different contrasting features that somehow make sense. He's awkwardness and elegance, he's young and he's old (an old soul), he's French but hes English, he's articulate but you know he's struggling to get his thoughts out properly. He's amazing.

      Gerwig is very much an actor director. She thinks as an actor having been in a lot of films herself directed by her husband Noah Baumbach. She's good at what she does.

      and he's really so humble!
      a week ago, there were photos online, of Timothee, soaking wet, on a subway and standing in the rain, smiling and posing with fans. he was traveling alone, on this way to the Jimmy Kimmel show, where he was a guest. First, he could have had his studio or the show, send a car, or a taxi! If you said to his face, "your iconic" his responce as usual would be "no, i'm a grown up fan boy, who would still stand behind the barriers to try to meet one of his sports or acting heros!"

      I don't know. She came across as a bit absurd to me. She's a phenomenal actress but this is the problem with older actors playing children. Can't wait to see the movie, though.

    Laura has such a friendly spirit about her. She bounces off of everyone else well, she laughs at all their jokes and smiles when they do. Her compliments are genuine, too. And she's smart to boot, she's so insightful about the directing even though she didn't direct this.

    ahh I love how laura dern described timothee's acting in the same way that armie used to during the cmbyn era. everyone he works with always seems struck by the way emotions spill out of him through his facial expressions and even his movements. he's an open book of an actor for sure.

    I watched it recently. It’s honestly my favourite adaptation ever. It’s just so cosy and lovely. Florence Pugh is a revelation and Timothée Chalamet is so so dreamy, as is Louis Garrel.

    I didn't realize the amount of really deliberate craftsmanship with all of their choices -- both in terms of details like the daughters' clothing as well as production decisions like warm and cold lighting. I'm probably one of the only people on this Earth who hasn't seen _Lady Bird_, but this feature alone has made me want to watch it, because I have so much respect for Greta Gerwig after listening to her reasoning and method. The cast is brilliant, and I love how kind they are to each other and how complimentary they are of each others' talents. I can hardly wait to see this!

    I have so much more appreciation than I already had for this movie, I wish I could hear them lay out the entire film like this. It's like watching an artist explain their process of creating a painting and going through it with them, it's so beautiful and has so much more depth and craftsmanship than I would've noticed just on my own.

    The film was absolutely beautiful. I watched the older "Little Women," with my brother often when we were little and so I was excited to see this one. I was blown away by the lighting, the clothing, and the detail in showing each relationship. There was so much detail in each scene and the houses and locations were beautiful. When the director said she wishes an older lady would watch it 20 times to find little things every time, lol that's me! I love movies with such beautiful detail so I will watch this movie many many times. Thank you for making such a lovely film.

    I absolutely LOVE the dynamic between these four in this. They all have something wonderful and positive to say about everyone else, constantly building each other up with compliments and comments on each others techniques. It's really quite beautiful.

      @@jpmingoa1212 she's a brunette in the book. I don't believe any of them have red hair in the book. I haven't read it in a while, but I read it many many times when I was younger. It was described as chestnut which is a warm brown, with maybe a hint of red.

    Saw this movie last night at an advance screening, and I must say that it is one of my absolute favorites of the year. It's a Christmas Dinner of a movie, bursting with love, and life, and adoration for its characters. Gerwig's passion for the story jumps off the screen and convinces us all of its importance. Take your family, whoever they may be, close friends, neighbors, it doesn't matter, just grab somebody you care for and go enjoy these two hours together, you won't regret it.

    greta and laura's way of talking about the film with such details makes me come back to this video and actually notice and appreciate small things in films. i just love how they point out how scripting and camerography makes dinamics and relationships much more noticeable and felt and how they talk about the specification and detail on the costumes and how it tells a larger story than what it's meant to be seen as. this video is literally the reason i love the film indutry's way of thinking.
