I know this feeling exactly was listening to him last night just as I was going about my business and then got stopped dead in my tracks and was crying, something magical about this dude
Take me Anywhere you wanna go You know that my love is strong In my hideaway Softly Like the calm that follows storms Find what I've been searching for all along In my hideaway Even when I close my eyes Darling, I will always stay Wide awake In my hideaway Touch me Like I've never loved before In the place that I adore In my hideaway I know Whichever way the wind may blow There will be a place for me to go In my hideaway Whether you be lost or found Darling, if you've gone astray I'm on my way To my hideaway (my hideaway) Singin' down, down, down, down, down (Down, fallin' down, da doh) (Down, goin' down) (Down, fallin' down) Hey yeah (down, goin' down) Da doh, down, down, down, down When the rain falls (Fallin' down to the sea) Down, down, down, down to the sea (Flow that river) Flow that river (To the depth of me) To the depth of me When the rain falls (Fallin' down to the sea) (Flow that river) Flow that river (To the depth of me) To the depth of me When the rain falls (Fallin' down to the sea) Da, da, da, da, da (Flow that river) The river (To the depth of me) To the depth of me Let me Feel the sky and feel the moon Let me sing an honest tune To my hideaway Trust in Wherever I go wandering I'll find a home in everything In my hideaway Maybe you can come to stay And I will meet you here someday (Someday, someday, someday, oh) Far away (Far away, far away, far away) In my hideaway
I wish BBC had a better sound mixer. Jacob's vocals and guitar were way below Orkest. In another video from the concert they forgot to cut Jacob's audio in. It makes his beautiful music appear sloppy.
With the notion that all art is derivative and as such pays homage to those who come before us, compare the opening melody of Cassandra Wilson's tender lament entitled "Skylark" with that of Mr. Collier's equally moving "Hideaway." My Chinese students always remind me that imitation is the sincerest from of flattery.
Bless your opinion. It made me question my own thoughts about Jacob. For a second. The complexities of his music are the point. Melody, rhythm, harmony, form, phrasing, articulation, freedom, sensitivity, nuance, exquisite moments of near ecstasy; all will be yours to enjoy once you learn to hear them.
@@anonaconn definitely agree to some degree. it's hard to appreciate his levels of ryhtmic harmonic and melodic complexities if you don't understand it enough. To non musicians I wouldn't be surprised if jacob's music sounded like mush
Jacob brings tears of "I cant describe" to my heart. Thanks for this
I know this feeling exactly was listening to him last night just as I was going about my business and then got stopped dead in my tracks and was crying, something magical about this dude
Take me
Anywhere you wanna go
You know that my love is strong
In my hideaway
Softly
Like the calm that follows storms
Find what I've been searching for all along
In my hideaway
Even when I close my eyes
Darling, I will always stay
Wide awake
In my hideaway
Touch me
Like I've never loved before
In the place that I adore
In my hideaway
I know
Whichever way the wind may blow
There will be a place for me to go
In my hideaway
Whether you be lost or found
Darling, if you've gone astray
I'm on my way
To my hideaway (my hideaway)
Singin' down, down, down, down, down
(Down, fallin' down, da doh)
(Down, goin' down)
(Down, fallin' down)
Hey yeah (down, goin' down)
Da doh, down, down, down, down
When the rain falls
(Fallin' down to the sea)
Down, down, down, down to the sea
(Flow that river)
Flow that river
(To the depth of me)
To the depth of me
When the rain falls
(Fallin' down to the sea)
(Flow that river)
Flow that river
(To the depth of me)
To the depth of me
When the rain falls
(Fallin' down to the sea)
Da, da, da, da, da
(Flow that river)
The river
(To the depth of me)
To the depth of me
Let me
Feel the sky and feel the moon
Let me sing an honest tune
To my hideaway
Trust in
Wherever I go wandering
I'll find a home in everything
In my hideaway
Maybe you can come to stay
And I will meet you here someday
(Someday, someday, someday, oh)
Far away
(Far away, far away, far away)
In my hideaway
Merci for the lyrics... 😊

How many brains he has? Genius
Jacob Collier needs to collaborate with Imogen Heap - THAT would be a mind blowing album.
Or Hans Zimmer
Indeed
@@buildintotrains done that
So beautiful! I’m impressed.. Thank you for this video.
OK, JC shows off.
Jacob, please keep showing off, you got full right.

That’s the same jacket he wore at the 2017 Grammys, isn’t it??
What the hell is it SAYING?
There's definitely many technicalities, but is there a point?!
Jacob is a super talented musician who makes super boring and unmemorable music

Unequivocally the worst take I’ve ever seen
He’s more of a musician for musicians.

Not true, it’s just not for you
