this mindset, specifically reminding myself that i will get to have yummy food again and this isn’t the last time i’m going to eat, has really helped me. plus approaching healthy eating by ‘adding’ rather than subtracting, such as ‘i can have this muffin with some strawberries which will fill me better and make me feel more satisfied’ rather than just not having the muffin because it’s ‘bad’

The way my feelings on the grave cleaner spiked after you mentioned it was in Puerto Rico... I went from like "Yeah kind of a weird vibe" to a "NO" that was from the heart. Thank you Jordan for shouting out The Leftovers! It's one of my absolute favorite shows. Also I think Jarvis might have been thinking of The 100. That show is about 100 survivors in the post apocalypse. Although one of them dies like almost immediately.
Loved Jarvis and Jordan's reenactment of that tiktok. Thank you Jordan & Jarvis for helping to make all these subjects safe and comfy to deal with. 💙
is EDS considered a rare condition? I've met so many people just in the last few years who have it, I wonder do you think it's super underdiagnosed still and it's just a coincidence that I've met quite a few, or are people likely to only get a diagnosis in adulthood because of how hard it is to get doctors to listen, so I've just happened to meet a lot of folks recently getting a diagnosis in young adulthood and they're more likely to share it because they're excited to have a diagnosis at last? Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm trying to word this 😂
@@RealElongatedMuskrat yes to both! I think it is hugely under diagnosed. If it was properly funded/researched there would way more cases and much better options for care. It’s also very common for people to not get diagnosed until their 30/40’s; some even older.

Yeah, as an ace person I think acephobia is an incredibly revealing prejudice. Lack of sexuality is still considered a deviation from the heterosexual norm in the same way homosexuality is. It’s such a, for lack of a better word, unobtrusive form of sexuality that the only explanation for acephobia is that you are uncomfortable with anyone who doesn’t fit the societal norm. This is obviously also the reason for any kind of homophobia, biphobia, etc, but it becomes more obvious when it comes to a sexuality that truly doesn’t affect anyone

Circa 2000, there was a boy-band product called B4-4 (because there were 3 of them). I was working my first job at a multiplex movie theatre in Richmond Hill, Ontario the summer before college. Due to the nature of the job, we had a printed schedule of when each showing ended so we could figure out which theatres to clean in what order. So my co-worker and I are walking down the corridor, and I'm looking at the schedule when some rando with frosted tips yoinks it out of my hand while his two buddies erupt in laughter. I demand it back, and when they try to start a game of keep-away with it, I threaten to summon someone to expel them from the premises. They all got faux sad, then ran down the hall to 'sneak into' a showing of Chicken Run (didn't care, not my problem). Once they were gone, my friend leans over and says, "Don't you recognize those guys? They're B4-4." To which I replied, "Figures. They're twats." And that's how I met a boy band.
The lads talking about their audience demographic kinda made me sad knowing that women are drawn to this podcast because we are drawn to this type of human. Yet, the guys who (typically) feel disenfranchised in the heterosexual dating scene will likely be drawn to the manosphere instead of here.

re: the audience reaction to the different thumbnails, not sure if it helps cause i know questioning oneself is rarely cured by logic but y’ anyways. i find that as a part of the audience myself, tend to have a very “parent of a couple of children i want to make sure feel loved equally” type reaction, trying to make sure all of them are getting the very same size of piece of pie ? i.e., as a smosh viewer, when there’s a bunch of the cast in a video, and people mostly underline like. half of the cast’s moments, i go out if my way, even if it’s just tossing a coin in the void, to show that i noticed other members’ moments, just in case they check comment and all of that ? i’m not an active part of the sadboyz enjoyer community, but i’ve always felt the more simply taking the show as it is and enjoying it (the cool part of the community according to moi haha) enjoys your contribution and your presence online equally / take them as what they are. again, little coin in the void (both i. a sea of comments and in the depth of the irrationality of questioning oneself, but i kind of believe this is the same sentiment for the commenters you guys briefly mentionned, making sure you both feel appreciated wether you’re “”promoted”” more or not, and i don’t think this sentiment in the comments is truly motivated at any point by their enjoyment of the show, more like. an instinct to treat to equal parts of the project equally and ensure they feel it that way !

I think the biggest problem with the whole possessive/weird romance isn't that it exists and that people like it, because there are hundreds of examples of content people really love in fiction that they hate irl (horror movie-type thrills, gore, actual murder, etc) BUT. but. too many people see this messed up stuff happen to, say, Bella and Edward in the fictional vampire universe of Twilight and think "I want this to happen TO ME. IN REAL ACTUAL LIFE. where is MY Edward?" and THAT is not good or okay and frankly pretty scary!
Regarding Anastasia’s points on the intensity of “man written by a woman”, i think this is something I’ve noticed online more and more over the years. People yearning for this entirely intense, performative relationship… not knowing how a relationship actually is. We are very disconnected from one another. Time is constantly feeling like it’s running out. The world is not nearly as kind as we once thought it was. So, when we find someone we want to have in our lives, people tend to want this intense “all or nothing” attitude with people. Friends can’t just be people you see every once in a a while, they need to be there all the time and hangout every week. Romantic partnership can’t be an exploratory experience, it needs to be marriage “we loved happily ever after”. What I’m saying is people yearn for intense experiences because they don’t even get regular experiences. We want it all or none at all, it seems. And it’s sad that people don’t know what it’s like to be just okay with things as is. Adding on to this, the later conversations of what people “truly want” in the pod is exactly what I wish people online understood. Maybe they do understand. Maybe they can separate reality from the internet/fiction. But I’m not entirely sure if younger people get that nuance. That this is all simply fantasy and that the real people around you are cool and good (most of the time). Media literacy is at an all time low, and I wonder if we did it to ourselves… More Anastasia please!!
Idk, I don't think it's necessarily a new or a more recent phenomenon to want heightened emotions in the romance genre. The 90s had The Notebook, the 80s had bodice rippers, the 1800s had Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights (gothic romances, sure, but romances with intense feelings all the same). Heightened intensity is part of the point of the genre. It's like how most people wouldn't want to shoot someone, but it's fun to watch an action movie.
Jarvis, I’ve been watching you for years, I’ve always thought you were a great person with top tier opinions, and then today you finally said something that REALLY rubbed me the wrong way :/ POTATOES IN BREAKFAST BURRITOS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE A BREAKFAST BURRITO IT IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I hope this was just a momentary lapse of judgement on your part 😔 (In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m joking, love your content and will continue to support you even tho we will never agree on the proper contents of a breakfast burrito)
Anyone else remember all the marketing around Left Behind before the TV release in the early 2000s or is my memory tainted by my heavily religious grandparents seeking stuff out? I don't know if I ever watched it but I have vivid memories of the little clip of the plane crashing bc the pilot got raptured lol. Kind of the opposite of the 4400
When I make breakfast burritos at home, I just do egg, potato (blasted with Tony Chachere), and salsa, so I'm not here for this burrito potato haterism

this mindset, specifically reminding myself that i will get to have yummy food again and this isn’t the last time i’m going to eat, has really helped me. plus approaching healthy eating by ‘adding’ rather than subtracting, such as ‘i can have this muffin with some strawberries which will fill me better and make me feel more satisfied’ rather than just not having the muffin because it’s ‘bad’
@@mahyuhhh yeah it's such a good way to adjust!!
And if you really struggle with getting your fruit/veggies the Internet shaquille method of just making a big brown smoothie to chug can be a first step to this addition.
"I'm..a little teapot." XD and Olay & Lolo seem nice nice. Recently started watching them and it was nice to see them on. Also, I'm a woman, but I hope more guys find your channel as well. I have three nephews, with the oldest going to turn ten this year, and it'd be nice if your podcast also inspires more creators to be healthy examples of masculinity as well. Hope your channel will grow into what you imagine for it. It's been a good ride so far
Also also, that guy has the same energy as Anakin Skywalker XD
Honestly I blame BookTok for this guy. Like they’re all _obsessed_ with the romance novels Anastasia mentioned, where the male romantic leads are always borderline if not overtly abusive and weird. I’ll never understand it
Also don't support obvs but if you ever want to try understanding why these women are like this, Contrapoint's video Twilight is a masterpiece of deconstruction.
@@LimeZestti I actually watched that one recently, it was really good!
@@punkrckr6889 Oh awesome!! And right??? Contra is a goddess among men her videos are insane
The way my feelings on the grave cleaner spiked after you mentioned it was in Puerto Rico... I went from like "Yeah kind of a weird vibe" to a "NO" that was from the heart. People just love to engage with the ~uwu tragedy and struggle~~ of PR without engaging with it as a place where human people live and deal with the effects of climate catastrophe and US colonization.
i’ve been calling myself the [blank] bastard constantly lately, thanks for infiltrating my vocabulary jordan

This whole thing is so prophetic and hilarious
No for real she needs a degree lmaoo
OMG WAIT THAT'S WHY THEY SAY "RESIDENT __"
the hoe math episode that heavily features her is one of my favorites!
When Jordan said “scary dance” after Jarvis talking about Olivia Rodrigo, I was so confused as to what scary dance Olivia was doing lol
same 😂
Thank you Jordan for shouting out The Leftovers! It's one of my absolute favorite shows. Also I think Jarvis might have been thinking of The 100. That show is about 100 survivors in the post apocalypse. Although one of them dies like almost immediately.
He was 101 😂
The episode where Jarvis takes any excuse to sing and Jordan takes any excuse to say “Hey bub”
Loved Jarvis and Jordan's reenactment of that tiktok. I too would have ragdolled out of the situation if a dude kept rubbing my face like a genie lamp while asking "Whats wrong" 😂 Plus why are they blocking the hallway of an apartment? Doesn't it kind of ruin the moment if you have people stepping over you?
I never comment but I want convey how much I appreciate you both and this podcast. I have Ehlers Danlos (hEDS) 🦓.
The amount of comfort ive gotten from this episode is amazing. I have the exact same internal conversation about my sleep every night. I convince myself I have to “earn” my pain or sleep meds. Just watching Jordan’s many obtuse sitting positions makes me feel SO seen, haha! I’m always positioning myself in weird ways to just just stay in the chair or couch 😂 loosy-goosy EDS joints!
Loving the mini Afro, Jordan. Looks sick
It becomes more glorious with each episode. I hope he keeps growing it out.
25:45 the best/worst example I have experienced is hatred towards asexual people. You know the people who don’t experience sexual attraction to ANYONE. The people who’s entire thing is not being sexually attracted to you somehow gets hate. Like they just want to enjoy their garlic bread and cake in peace 😭😭
This is obviously also the reason for any kind of homophobia, biphobia, etc, but it becomes more obvious when it comes to a sexuality that truly doesn’t affect anyone
lol i was just texting my friend abt being frustrated abt how much romance there is everywhere (as an aroace person) (im sensitive rn dont make fun) funny coincidence
Well we also want world domination but keep that on the dl yall

most tragic thing is my mom loves young sheldon and will at times excitedly mention something that happens on the show as reminding her of me (im autistic) and the most painful part about it is that when she describes what reminded her of me shes right its something i do T-T fucking roasted me while trying to be sincere so i cant even say anytihng
to be fair to your mom......young sheldon is so much more enjoyable and dare i say better written than tbbt 😭😭😭
this was the saddest boys ive ever seen
Jordan’s hair looks especially magnificent here
You said “the average listener who’s like… doing their art homework” as I’m drawing digitally while listening to sad boys after MONTHS of no drawing. And my heart dropped to my ass and I had to comment because HOW DID YOU KNOW JARVIS
Just realized today that I wasn't subbed. I have been an avid watcher for the past year and a half, the vids get recommended to me day of release. Glad to have rectified this
it's so refreshing to hear how thoughtful and understanding you guys are in all of your conversations. very funny and entertaining but also demonstrate a level of empathy that not many other people express
As a guy listener for the past year or so, even though I have good friendships and connections where I can be open about things, seeing it reflected in content is still very pleasant
8:35 "you're 4 days late and it's a barmitzvah" fucking GOLD

They're twats."
And that's how I met a boy band.
Good thing they’re irrelevant bc they sound like a holes
@@EsotericThoughts93 They were!
yo thats WILD also shoutout RHill like half my friends from uni are from east end lol
Video has been out for 5 hours and NLT is currently up to 15k spotify monthly listeners. We can make this happen.
The lads talking about their audience demographic kinda made me sad knowing that women are drawn to this podcast because we are drawn to this type of human. Yet, the guys who (typically) feel disenfranchised in the heterosexual dating scene will likely be drawn to the manosphere instead of here.
jarvis is a man who loves phrases and idioms and I love him for it
49:29 yeah that’s rough, those sorts of comments put Jarvis on the defensive automatically. Like now he needs to prove that he values his friend & isn’t cutting him out.
Obviously those commenters didn’t mean any harm but if I were Jarvis I’d get frustrated/sad too
The guy learning what love is and immediately pivoting to being abusive about it is so real though.
The 4400 was rebooted a few years ago, it did in fact not get a second season.
Third times the charm. The 13,200.
Time to listen to this while I doodle for 2 hours 🙄🤚🏻
14:37 I thought Jarvis was gonna say "as a Young Sheldon" because of the previous conversation 😭
Okay now I'm offended. You disrespect the NOBLE tradition of huevos con papas? Potato goes in breakfast burritos because it's huevos con papas in a fucking tortilla my friend.
I dont wanna have eggs with my dads
The Matrix Online was so fun. I was only a kid so I wasn't allowed to properly play it, but I remember playing it with my dad moderating me (mostly just sitting there and helping me remember what I was doing lol) and it was great. He also met 2 of his lifelong best friends in there!
Wait that’s so cute to bond with your dad while he makes sure that your time on the internet is fun but appropriate as a kid!
Just got home from work, got a burger, a blunt, and I’m SO ready for this episode of sad boyz
Omg I almost forgot to mention my slushee, that’s the best part
Isnt the whole Karma cringe thing of the 'other singer' a way for them to cover for the alleged abuse that came out? Like. Nowhere near her birthday did an "im an adult now!" thing and started the super meme-able changes shortly after a chronically ill kid in her show came forward about about lack of pay and alleged abuse? Like theyre purposefully cringe so memes flood searches of her name instead of the allegations. Obviously doesnt deserve hate for the meme-able stuff, but like... Theres plenty of legit stuff to critique
i was kind of self conscious about being an "emotional guy" but yeah i do think this podcast gives me a sense of comfort in part because youre two dudes showing this kind of friendship and vulnerability with each other and the internet. ive been watching sad boyz for years and i do feel like i have grown a lot as a person in that time (not like.. completely due to the show but its definitely a positive influence you know) and i do feel more in touch with my feelings and myself than i was when i was a teenager watching you guys. now im actually working on my mental health and myself... something i had barely begun to do when i first started watching. that isnt completely due to sad boyz, but i do think you guys helped me in considering that a lot of things i dealt with growing up were undiagnosed neurodiversity. im not sure how long it wouldve taken me to come to terms with that sort of thing and trauma and other stuff like that if i saw less people being open about it. i also feel like i have a better grasp of what i want from friendships now, and i think that i now have a circle of guy friends i can connect with in a similar way to the relationship you guys show on sad boyz, which im very grateful for
lets go dude. 2 hour episode
I just finished a quick watercolour painting for fun when I saw this got put up, gonna do a couple sketches now
I have also started new medication recently and its nice to hear Jordan is dealing with a similar experience. Thanks for calming me down fellas
re: the audience reaction to the different thumbnails, not sure if it helps cause i know questioning oneself is rarely cured by logic but y’ anyways.
i find that as a part of the audience myself, tend to have a very “parent of a couple of children i want to make sure feel loved equally” type reaction, trying to make sure all of them are getting the very same size of piece of pie ? i.e., as a smosh viewer, when there’s a bunch of the cast in a video, and people mostly underline like. half of the cast’s moments, i go out if my way, even if it’s just tossing a coin in the void, to show that i noticed other members’ moments, just in case they check comment and all of that ?
i’m not an active part of the sadboyz enjoyer community, but i’ve always felt the more simply taking the show as it is and enjoying it (the cool part of the community according to moi haha) enjoys your contribution and your presence online equally / take them as what they are.
again, little coin in the void (both i. a sea of comments and in the depth of the irrationality of questioning oneself, but i kind of believe this is the same sentiment for the commenters you guys briefly mentionned, making sure you both feel appreciated wether you’re “”promoted”” more or not, and i don’t think this sentiment in the comments is truly motivated at any point by their enjoyment of the show, more like. an instinct to treat to equal parts of the project equally and ensure they feel it that way !

jordan's impressions were unbelievably good this ep
conversely, Jarvis' Hasan impression was so incredibly bad lol
The 4400 was about 4400 people that had “gone missing” from the earth, pulled out of time. All 4400 are returned to earth at the same time.
Edit: Oh…they just watched the intro.
If there are potatos on a burrito it needs sauce or it’ll suck the moisture out of your mouth lol
personally as a transmasc person, i find a lot of comfort in sad boyz in the sense that it feels like i'm hanging out with The Guys, which is gender affirming for me!!
Love the Sad Boyz. Found you all through Ludwig and have quickly started consuming your backlog and your Patreon content.
When I leave the house for a longer time I put the sad boys playlist on for my cat. Hope it helps with engagement.
25:15 mildly terrifying that jordan knows what homestuck is
1:51:57 the fact that this is a Vampire Diaries quote. I knew I remembered this from somewhere!!
2:04:47 my dad’s a gastroenterologist so any time i hear someone talk about GI i feel like one of those “[insert city] mentioned!!” memes lmfao
Media literacy is at an all time low, and I wonder if we did it to ourselves…
More Anastasia please!!
I hope this was just a momentary lapse of judgement on your part 😔
(In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m joking, love your content and will continue to support you even tho we will never agree on the proper contents of a breakfast burrito)

It's extremely dangerous and creepy, and people are fetishizing it.
as a woman who is a fan of your podcast i am happy that you are trying to reach the boys😂 help is appreciated and welcomed at this point
The number one thing that is missing in breakfast burritos is hollandaise sauce. It's crazy the media never talks about it
Anyone else remember all the marketing around Left Behind before the TV release in the early 2000s or is my memory tainted by my heavily religious grandparents seeking stuff out? I don't know if I ever watched it but I have vivid memories of the little clip of the plane crashing bc the pilot got raptured lol. Kind of the opposite of the 4400
When I make breakfast burritos at home, I just do egg, potato (blasted with Tony Chachere), and salsa, so I'm not here for this burrito potato haterism
