Russ became a successful songwriter in his own right....wrote some hits for Elkie Brooks and played her band ....when my band played with her...talented chap....thats why the band was so great....just full of talent....
That was so amazing! I loved the long version of 'Hold your head up' as a teenager. Never been very keen on drum solos,, but that was something else! Wow!

Thanks for this video so much. One of my favorite bands but due to a war at the time I never got to see them live until after they lost Russ. Bob Henrit is the most underrated drummer EVER! He is amazing.
Damn that was good. Always liked these guys --- good harmony, great musicianship and arrangements. I never heard them jam so much though. Thanks for posting, it made my evening.
Artist.. giving us a great form of the art.. Fantastic Classically trained Musicians at the School of the Higher Self brilliant. I still cannot get enough of them all. Brilliant boys thank you for the fruits of your labours. 🟨💛🟨 69 it was for me in New Zealand.
Very talented band... I got into them after they disbanded they were just a bit ahead of my time.... in fact I was just 10 years old when they did this show....
you probably dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my brother these days xD
My brother and I saw this band at the Agora Club in Columbus Ohio in June 1973. That was graduation day that same morning at the university just across the street and so concert attendance was low--everybody had left town already! Bad timing on the part of the promoter! But these guys were real pros and they played their full set for the crowd. I had just had a root canal that afternoon and my tooth ached with every bass note and hit on the kick drum. A fine performance in front of a wall of Ampeg amp heads and speaker stacks.
Cool story! Yea that promoter didn’t think ahead. I always liked Argent. I also once saw a band after having a tooth extracted. I just “medicated” with beer!
Loved Argent ever since a kid but imagine Deep Purple or Rainbow with Dio doing these wonderful songs. Loved to have set this up had I been a multi-millionaire in the late 70's. I still think Argent did the best version of 'I Don't Believe in Miracles' despite Colin Blunstone's brilliance. Gosh I hadn't heard The Fakir before either. A shame Argent didn't record either in the studio, to my knowledge.
Rod was a deeply spiritual person.....he gave me hope that i could make it in the music industry....thank you rod and the band...🙏
This was a fantastic watch, thanks for posting music from real musicians... Great!!!
Kings of anthemic music. Hold your Head High brother because God did give Rock and Roll to all. Pure bloody poetry.
Massively underrated band

J'ai toujours apprécié ce groupe. Déjà il y a 50 ans ! Je garde précieusement leurs 33 T. et "Second birth" en particulier.

I remember watching this with my older brother on PBS back then, I was maybe 11 going on 12
Wow!!! A great band!!!
Fantastic! Wonderful band. Rod and Russ are really great musicians. Thanks for post this gem!
All the line up is great. Unfortunately was a very underrated band.
Although Rod was the dominating presence here, kudos to both Jim Rodford (bass) and Bob Henrit (drums) for holding down the bottom end.
I’m so glad to see Argent preserved in concert on this recording...agreed they were a shining example of great rock & roll!Rolando,Oregon🌝
Beautiful music

Argent at Don Kirschner's Rock Concert. Excelent.
Rod went into producing some of the top acts of the 1980s....and had a music shop in London...
Never seen a drum solo quite like that before.
I remember seeing this when I was a teen, loved it then, love it now!
Hey. U And. Me are. Lucky. Saw. Some good. Jams
saw this tour and Russ was great and Rod was in the realm of Keith Emerson

Great to see him playing a full keyboard rig!

Great Band!
Par excellent 👍
Their best album was the first album Argent imho....when they had the hit they stopped exploring what they started with......still a great band...
❤
Thank you 😇🤪
The first great Rock keyboard player before Keith
Saw an interview (from around the Zombies Hall of Fame induction) where Rod says Keith was one of his main influences.
QUE BUENA MÚSICA

Cool band
The bass player is so animated.
JIm Rodford. Quite a bass player.
Jim joined The Kinks, and later The Zombies. Sadly he died three years ago.
