- When we are misunderstood and unsupported, it’s easy to feel alone, as if we don't quite fit into the world around us. But something beautiful starts to happen when we understand that our uniqueness is not a flaw but a cause for celebration.
As we learn to appreciate and share our individual gifts, recognising the beauty in our differences, we find a renewed connection to the world - similar to the harmony found in nature, where each element contributes to the overall beauty of the landscape.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, we come to understand that embracing our differences is a gift we can offer to the world, making it a more beautiful place for everyone around us.
The answer lies in bridging gaps, cultivating empathy, and revealing the vibrant tapestry of our shared human experience through the acknowledgment and celebration of diversity.

Dear Kathleen, I would have been your friend in those England classes. I'm so sorry those kids weren't nice to you. I'm a Senior citizen and there are moments when I'm largely ignored. It hurts, but not for long. I have found by walking (I live in a rural area), drinking tea, learning so much about a variety of subjects on UA-cam, and contributing; I'm a CASA, I volunteer at the Cat adoption clinic, and I work at the local high school in the special education dept has alleviated a lot of hurt by not being included. Oh! and also beloved music! What would we do without it. I also love to cook and bake. Never thought I'd become a rather Sourdough Bread Queen, but you never know what you can do until you do it. You are a beautiful lady Kathleen in and out. P.S. I grew up in a generation where parents didn't praise us or support us in our talents. I suppose it's because they weren't either. It becomes generational. I made it a point to make sure I wasn't like that with my Son. May God Bless You in all that you do!

Sylvia . We have much in common . Tea drinking , walks in the country , I have taught dyslexic young ones how to read The Harry Potter stories . I love cats . I just lost my Tabby cat Millie , but she and I had so much fun. She was a shelter cat . I am going soon to the shelter to be a forever friend to another cat. Art and music are life for me. I go to galleries and concerts as often as i can . On my own , i dont care . I have just left listening to a outstanding Mozart concert from Wigmore Hall London. I am younger than you . But what is age ? I cook , yet to do sourdough but one day it will happen .

Oh goodness!! This is so similar to my own childhood. I always felt different, I always felt an outsider, I always cried myself to sleep.

Nature is my home. Animals are my best friends. I finally live in a cottage the hills and care for all the animals. Turkeys, doves, squirrels, deer, birds, and my own animals. Nature and animals
Are gifts for us, and show us how to find peace and just be. And sadly, developers are tearing down every last bit of free space.

I found this channel yesterday and I've been watching lots of your videos. I'm in a very dark time of my life currently after a lot of bereavement and loss, wondering what to do next, where to go from here. I don't have a partner, children or many friends. My cat was my best friend but she died of cancer and it was like the lights went out when she died, she was my hope and joy and my reason for living. I'm extremely lonely but the loneliness isn't cured by being with just anyone, sometimes being around others makes me feel worse. Your channel has reminded me about trusting my voice within in order to figure out a path from here, thank you.

Thank you for this beautiful film. Many of us were and still are lonely, for many different reasons. I believe that we were not born this way, and we all have our own stories and our own traumas, which helped to make us who we are. We are not different! We are just sensitive but were taught to suppress our sadness and feelings of not being attached to our parents, who through no fault of their own, didn't know that we needed emotional support to grow into emotionally secure beings. It's good to talk about and to release the tears and the decades of sadness. Nature is where I too find my own strength and inner peace. Let's keep talking about this. We are not alone. We have ourselves.

As someone who knows Kathleen as a personal friend, I am so immensely proud of her strength and resilience in forging forward to be who she is.

I spent far too many years overriding my intuition, trying (and failing) to please or fit in with people who had no interest in supporting what was best for me, only what was best for them, trying to make me fit into their safe boxes. Oh how I wish I could have seen Kathleen's reaction when she first watched this - to see her truth elevated and framed in the beauty of which she speaks. Wow, this hit close (as is often the case with your videos). I felt different, misunderstood, even rejected many times in my life. And while I do have a loving, supportive mother, it was a little more complicated with my dad - he never really understood my way of life and since he suddenly passed away last year (at 62), he never will... I'm grateful we were mostly on good terms though in the past few years - just living in our own separate universes... Also, I can totally relate to the nature being your solace in hard times as I'm finally reconnecting with it myself after years of having lost the connection - and it was actually getting into the wildlife photography last year which has been life-changing for me as well (so I couldn't but smile the moment I saw the DSLR early on in this video)! Anyway, thank you for being brave enough to share your story - wishing the best of luck to you! 🙏

I too have had a very difficult relationship with my parents to contend with all my life. It’s tough and extremely traumatic. I used to live for their approval which didn’t work at all. Finally I realised that I could only live for myself and for my own happiness, it was long time coming. All the best to you Kathleen xxx

One of the great challenges (opportunities?) of life is to learn to see what is 'inside'.From my personal experience, I can say that the lens of the world is more often than not a view of the exterior of a thing rather than it's interior beauty and complexity. A beautiful portrait, a sunset, a pleasing bowl or carving is judged predominantly by its outward appearance. While I may try to provide a glimpse of the Creator imbued in the person, the flower or the sunset or the creator in the piece of art, it is ultimately up to the viewer to see what is 'underneath' or 'inside'. Not to our credit is the tendency to do the same thing with the ultimate creation... a person. This form of seeing takes time and effort. I must challenge myself to look past the cover photo to the story inside.

I can relate to you so much. My mother and father did not understand me at all. I seemed so different from their goals and dreams for life. They had resentment towards me because they felt I was trying to be better than them. Not at all. I loved and respected my parents immensely. I just wanted a different kind of life. I also had to work very hard to "fit in" and finally carved at a notch on the fringes. It was hard, but it also gave me time to be myself. I found myself in long walks down dusty roads, walking for miles whenever I could. My trusty dog Fritzie was often my companion. He would walk with me until he tired. Then he would sit down and rest until I made my way back to him. I could tell him anything, and strangely, it was as if he understood me. Those are sweet memories for me. I learn so much about myself. I am glad you had the strength to discuss your issues and how you have found yourself. That is strength. My parents have both passed now, and truthfully we never were able to resolve things. But no matter what, I still love them deeply. I can tell you do too.
