Rest in Peace sir🙏 this video always brings much needed inspiration when writing
LOVE his fishing writing metaphor. Wow!
Really enjoying this series! Thanks, Academy!
After nine years I am seeing your reply
Descansa en paz, David. Eras un gran artista... Gracias por tus enseñanzas. Que dios te tenga en su gloria. F.O.
holy crap that was an amazing interview
David Lynch describes creativity like fishing. It’s like meditating.
I was hooked in by your first words...I learned storytelling by mAking up excuses for being late for School ! ( yes it really is true, I had to walk 5miles to get there) And I also stuttered.. English my Second language, Danish my first.. The kids made fun of me , called me Marco Polo....stupid they did not know WHO he was! So I learned to Read before any of Them in 2nd grade Santa. Monica ....later I stutered when I was put on the spot...I wrote my bio 25 years ago...my son Said " Mom no one is going to Care unges you are a famous person!" Teenagere..So I rewrite it as a novel...And Best Buy lost it when I bought a new Apple Mac Pro. It's still in my head "From Copenhagen To California" I admiral your discipline and tenacity, your openess...Have a little coffee before you start writing. It's wonderfull to hear the creative process, I Try and share that in my painting....
God I miss fly fishing for Rainbow and german trout in the High Sierra's
This series is soooooo great! Please do more of these!!
Thanks AMPAS for sharing. Love David Seidler's work.
I'm curious as to why there are no credits on these videos?
Who is interviewing? Camera\Cinematography? Editing?
These videos are beautiful.
I don't know why, but this is such a beautiful video to me.
Thank you. A superb video about a great writer.
This one was great! I love his philosophy on life, not just writing.
I LOVE this man. He's so endearing and relatable :).
nuggets, nuggets, nuggets of gold

Where exactly was he fishing? It looks like a beautiful part of the country!
Mammoth Lakes, California.
Thanks academy ⚡
Beautiful :)
WOW! A wonderful series. And this one with David Seidler is so poetically produced that it can be a great short film all by itself. A big thank you to the Academy. (What screenwriting software is Mr Seidler using? Final Draft?)
+ZachClooney Yeah he was using Final Draft
All professional screenwriters use Final Draft because it's the industry standard.
Poetic.
I always wonder if the Picasso script he's working on here ever got made
Who wrote the MUSIC in this?
What program is he using there?
Final Draft, most likely. That’s the industry standard.
By the looks of those cards, does anyone know if he's writing a movie about the theft of the Mona Lisa? I wrote the same screenplay, agent said the same story was already in development. Blast!
good writing is rewriting, as painful as that reminder always is
