  • Clean-up of a previously posted clip. Some contrast added and stereo sound synced up. The original had such distorted sound, it was an injustice to this great song.

    Those backup vocals are phenomenal. Sweet harmony, indeed. Ry Cooder is an American treasure. He should be named US Musical Ambassador to the World. Pure class.

    Reminds me of bbqs with my parents, brother and sister, aunt uncle way back when we were kids. They did loved paradise and lunch …. Happiest of happy times. Hell of a guitarist is Ry ❤

    Wonderful. Just listening to My Favourite Album podcast with Jeremy Dylan. John Leventhal chose this. Great discussion. This is a wonderful album. And Ry is my ultimate hero! I hope he's not bored of hearing the phrase 'musician's musician'. It's a great accolade and I can't think of anyone more deserving.

      It was part of the sound track of Robin Williams "Cadillac Man" too (at the end of the movie). Great tune. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever".

    @GreenManalishiUSA. Muy amable. I second that emotion. All the great guitarists are chosen by
    God. Ry, Eric, Keef, Chuck Berry, et al have been anointed from On High. They play with the certainty of a Prophet who has no doubt. Its always wonderful to hear Mr. Ry.

    Some of these names to songs are intriguing to say the least like this one Ry Cooder is singing ..The rhythem and melody has a good beat..the backup singers are good also..

    Thanks for posting--I think his solo break in the middle is a more extended version, is it not? You can really see his finger work and chording. He makes it look so effortless. Wonderful song.

    There once was an acoustic version on UA-cam, with Ry playing bottleneck in an open D tuning. Way better, but it has been taken down. Drat.

      there's a great concert somewhere on the internet; it is audio only but worth the download. i believe it is from May 16, 1974 i think it was broadcasted by JPN FM. check it out, its worth it

      There's something posted from Passim in Boston. Early, simpler version, closer to the original 78 recording. This early version morphed into something more complex with the band - BOTH great however.
