Aren't open worlds in games supposed to be separate to the campaign? With other full open worlds there are random events that don't affect progression, they didn't do that with this game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and have played it a few times. The scenery, the atmosphere, the music, the combat, the hunting even the bad guy is one of the better ones. But when the open world forces progression without needing to do any missions, it's not open. As an experiment on one of my replays I stood at one of the little machine gun nests in Faith's region and just shot all the random encounters and progressed through the region in just over an hour.
