The course all videos?..I have been wanting to do my own taxes this year and I could not find a site to go to until now... I bought a duplex in 2021 and opened a LLC and looking to learn all the tax write offs for personal and business for myself/family for now. A question I do have is will I be able to write off the purchase price for the duplex on my taxes. This will be my last W-2 this year. Full-time entrepreneur now.Thank you and keep up the great work.
Thank you....I'm back. You might see me commenting all over your social media. Gotta catch up with the content you've posted and WOW....you have done soooo much since the last time I was attempting to figure it out. I am going to take a leap of faith. you are a very intelligent and savvy woman....I am excited to learn from you. ITS TIME :)
You explained this so well. I’m not looking to become a tax preparer. I have my own business and I pay a company to do my taxes. However, I need some help with knowing what and how to best prepare all my records for a tax preparer. Do you have a video for self employed people and what they can do to prep themselves for the EA/CPA?
Crysta, thank you so much for sharing your insights and testimony. You are so empathetic and inspirational. Please, where can I go to see your training?
Hello Crysta I have to say that you are my inspiration . I love your videos because you bring a lot of important information . I have a question, if I work for an accounting firm preparing taxes in the state of florida and I just assist preparing taxes because the tax return are signed by the partners and the PTIN use is the partners . It does not make a conflict if I decide to start my own tax preparation business with my PTIN?. Thank you.
Hi! Thank you for this great video. Question….which software would you recommend for a newbie? I plan to prepare a few business tax returns this year and I believe one client will be taking bonus depreciation. Is there any software that walks preparers through the return or forms needed?
The top tax preparation software used by members of my Tax & Accounting 6-Figure Accelerator Program are (1) My Tax Prep Office, (2) Tax Slayer, (3) Drake, and (4) Crosslinks. Each has its own pros and cons. There's going to be a learning curve as you familiarize yourself with the software you choose, but each one offers practice returns, training, and support to assist. I’d suggest that you request a demo or attend a webinar to explore these options and see what’s best. However, if you do go with My Tax Prep Office, you can use the code “CRYSTA” at checkout to receive a substantial discount.
Good advises, I really liked the video.I just wanted to ask what Software would you recommend for filling taxes as a professional tax preparer. Thank you!
I'm a newbie watching your videos. However, I'm a little confused. 1. So i should buy crosslink software 1st and the purchase the course so I can practice with to ensure I'm doing it correctly? 2. Typically how long does the course take to complete? 3. One of your live videos you mentioned tax preparer book from amazon...is that in lieu of the course or in conjunction to the course? Thanks for any help. Although IRS pushed back filing date I don't think I'll be ready for 3part:: practice, practice, practice 😥. I suppose next yr
is it shows how to renew an Itin for people that do not have social security number? and how to prepare taxes for people that have an Itin? also how to explain them why they don't get that much refund for their dependents? this is what I am missing and I really want to take a course that goes deeply in to everything that has to do with taxes and to really be prepared for when I am preparing taxes. if you can help me I will appreciated thank you. I am from Texas.
Is there a way to still prepare returns without an efin? Currently working under a EA and would like to branch out but maybe next year ? I can do so? Im currently a new ctech in california do have my ptin.

Hi Crysta, Thank you for all your wonderful detailed contents you've been blessing us with, i came across your channel recently. I'm a Realtor as well a Life and Health insurance agent. MY wife and i have great interests in entering the tax industry for the coming year. where can we start? what are the first step? is there a course to take? any software recommendation? please help. - From Kissimmee, FL
Hey Crysta, thank you for all of your content! I have a couple of questions... In the past you have recommended other courses with Gleim. I have started fast forward academy but not going to take the EA exam for this upcoming tax season. How would you compare these courses for someone that is going to provide tax prep as a efiler (started my own business!)? And beyond that, as someone without EA or CPA title, can I file taxes for taxpayers throughout US or just within my state? Thanks in advance!
i work in pro series hearing this i feel like im learning backwards lol i know the forms and some laws but i dont even know how preparers know what forms to use when you open it and theres only like 4 main forms open sheeshh

Are there legal disclosures that a client needs to sign before even starting the tax preparation? When working for Liberty tax they had a bunch of disclosure forms that the client needed to sign even before we started talking about their taxes. Im now starting a small tax prep buis. and i dont know if those disclosures apply to all preparers.
I worked for Liberty as well. I believe one was a privacy notice for clients in regards to sharing info for the bank products offered and the other was a general privacy notice.

Hi Jay! Depends on the person. Most people need about 6-12 months to start bringing in consistent revenue so having a 9-5 job while you build your business is often the most comfortable option.
Finally, a good video that lays down the groundwork for me to get started on being a tax preparer!

Hi Crysta, my question to you is can you use an older EA exam review book? I found one on Amazon for cheap but it's a 2017-2018.
Unfortunately no it’s not best to do so as tax law is normally updated every year and you don’t want to study outdated material
