hey great video, just installed louvers on my my 10th gen civic using this promoter and it worked very well. i had a not so good experience using this promoter installing the rain guards though. i got the promotor on my finger and when i installed the rain guard it left my finger print on the guard and i cant get it off. i tried alcohol and acetone but it didnt help. any suggestions? thinking of using tint wrap on the outside of the guard because that will cover my mistake. any help would be appreciated
I drove behind another Challenger with louvers on the freeway last week and I was crushing hard 😂 definitely going to look into getting the MP Concept louver you have (I actually checked them out on the website first before seeing this video so I’m taking it as a sign). One question - can you elaborate on the soap you used to clean?? Which soap exactly? And I’m debating whether I’ll need a rear spoiler too to complete the look... Halp....
Definitely recommend anything that cleans glass as you're going to end up using alcohol to wipe it down anyways before applying the promoter. Hope this helps sorry for the late response!
I bought the E&G Classics and have had no issues with mine. Came with everything...lost of wipes and promoter and lots of thin strip of foam to strategically place around the back to prevent rattles and was curved to prevent stress . 6 years so far.
This louver comes with about 8 thumb nuts that can be taken off relatively fast so not a really big issue. I remove it, wash the car, wash the louvers, and then reinstall. Takes just an extra minute or 2.
I couldnt find those adhesive promoters anywhere without having to order online and wait…. So… I went to autozone and bought one of those little mirror mounting kits because it came with a little cloth adhesive promoter with it…. Used that, and so far its worked. 👍
So i happened to be lucky and snagged one of these amazon louvers for a 2017 wrx but mine dont have the mounting plates i think with the nuts and washers nor the pre drilled holes for them so i had to order the mounting plate $20 and a 3 pack 3m adhesion promoter sponge pack $15 so my $200 louver will look and stay in place and during car washes very convincing to unmount and remount with nuts! My version is telling me apply the 3m strip around the whole louver😅 well if you do that then its permanent, possible failure to drain rain water too.! The moral of the story here is do your homework and do it right especially if its expensive and your committing to it
So did you wipe down the entire edge of the windshield? (Basically a big rectangle) or did you just wipe down the several squares where the 3m would meet? Thanks man!
Will the excess promoter outside the brackets leaves residue on the glass? If yes, what is the best way to clean the excess? And will it be obvious if left?
I have removed it various times before using goo gone with no damage to the window. It will take some elbow grease and some window cleaner once it is done as the goo gone is of an oily consistency. I would advise to use caution with razor blades unless you're really careful and patient. This was all just from personal experience, hope this helps!
The louver comes off, but the mounting brackets stay stuck to the window so you can easily take the louver off, clean the window and put it back on no problem
My louver (V2 louver from Ikon Motorsports) didn't come with mount pods or screws. The only option was crappy two-sided tape and the louver came off after a couple months. I ended up using industrial strength velcro, which has not only kept the louver on for almost 2 years, but which also allows you to remove the louver to clean the window. ua-cam.com/video/GCpWael4PDc/v-deo.html
It is recommended to leave it for about 4 hours prior to driving. I would recommend installing it in the evening and leaving it over night as long as you don't plan on driving your vehicle until the next day.
would 3m adhesive spray 77 work the same way as this? also did you use a silicone sealant around the edge to prevent any water or debris going into the cracks of the mount?
This louver in particular hugged the edges of the rear windshield and the sides of the glass well and so would not allow any sort of debris to come inside and so no silicone sealant is required. The spray 77 is its own adhesive/glue, as the liquid used in the video is more of an adhesive promoter for the 3M tape, it bonds the 3M tape making it a stronger hold.
MP Concepts! I tried 3 other brands and this is the only one that hugs the glass perfectly and is not forcefully bent into place. Here is the direct link to it Amazon! amzn.to/3kGLaBx
The 3M liquid assists in strengthening the bond between the 3M double sided tape, the vehicle's glass, and the louver. The quality and design of the louver being installed is a completely different story.
Any louver that is designed and installed correctly will not touch or hit the trunk when the trunk is opened. I had 3 different louver styles from different manufacturers and none of them had an issue with the trunk lid.

Wrong . I think you guys must be Mustang owners or you are just used to them being on Mustangs, either way it gives other muscle cars a great aggressive look. 👍🏽
I agree with you on the promoter, I've had mine on for over two year, countless car washings, and still going strong 💪.

do you know how to remove the brackets off the glass after using the promoter?
So I’m supposed to use the adhesive and the sponge or just one or the other. Which is better
Would it be possible to bolt the top part of the louver to the end of the roof? I dont like the idea of adhesive by itself
Please make a video on how to apply the primer.

Will the excess promoter outside the brackets leaves residue on the glass? If yes, what is the best way to clean the excess? And will it be obvious if left?
You can use acetone or MEK to remove excess promotor. Just keep it away from the edge of the brackets as it will take the paint off of them.
How does the promotor affect the glass when it comes to removal and residue?
