Ok, if you want to record striking images it is hard to beat Kyoto's gardens and temples, on peak autumn kōyō season, under the golden light on a sunny day early morning or late afternoon, but... after having watched all of your Japan trip vlogs I have reached the unescapable conclusion that you're a master with the camera, so (even if it's really none of my bussiness) I have to ask: does your academic or professional background have anything to do with photography?... 🙇♂ Thanks for sharing this vlog, it is (again) simply spectacular 🙏
Haha! You are too sweet. I'm a consulting arborist, so you could say I take pictures of trees for a living? My tree pictures aren't anything special though. Just capturing the tree part that needs to be captured. It was very easy to capture the beauty of Japan though. Since its everywhere!
@@laura7murray " Since it's everywhere ": spot on. Arborist? I love trees! Brilliant. (by the way, imo _acer palmatum_ has got to be one of the top 3, 4, most beautiful - subjective of course - tree species in the world. There's a good chance I'll never plant them but I bought some seeds. I just had to... ) That makes sense, you had to become comfortable with the technique and an innate good eye did the rest. Thanks Laura 🙏
@@kurofune.uragabay Acer palmatum is very beautiful but the fall colour of it in Japan is incomparable. Next level beauty. I want to get a dwarf weeping one this year! I can't decide on a red foliage cultivar or the green foliage one... Thank you for the many compliments, Kurofune!
@@laura7murray A weeping one? But for me one of the main attractions of the _palmatum_ is the stratification of the foliage! Just kidding, I'm sure they're also beautiful... I have seen fotos of other red cultivars, they are indeed striking. That reminds me that a while back I watched some YT vlogs from a fellow called Mike Kincaid, who I believe is also based on the Pacific West Coast... Good luck anyway, and looking forward to your next expedition to 日本 😃
@@kurofune.uragabay It'd be a compact container maple, so just a dwarf weeping variety. I do really love the full sized branching habit of the Japanese maples.
Hey amazing video! Do your remember the exact month and day of this? my gf and I are going from the 26th of oct to nov 10 and were wondering if the leaves will be beautiful and red like this???
We were in Ohara on November 19th. Certain spots will have red foliage during your stay. But I wouldn't expect to see much in the cities. I found the remote mountainous areas had red foliage earlier then other areas. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Hello :) I'm the production team of the Korean travel broadcast program "Map to Go Again". It is a program that conveys the satisfaction of travel to viewers through proxy travelers. As we prepare for this episode, we would like to show you various aspects of Kyoto, Japan. I would like to introduce the video you filmed above to the viewers as a data screen on the broadcast. I'd appreciate it if you could give me permission to use your UA-cam videos on the broadcast screen with the source! I would appreciate it if you could think positively. Thank you!.
Great video! From japan
Thank you so much!
