Had a 1966 Fairlane 500XL with 289 ci V8. Fire engine red, red leatherette and red carpet interior, white electric convertible top. $1200 used in 1971 with 37,000 miles on her. Sold it in 1975 for $800. Worst decision ever. Loved this car. Shoulda, shoulda, shoulda kept it. Was in beautiful condition. You can't buy such all American fun today.
The car is in great condition considering it’s age. My first car was its cousin, a 1967 Mercury Comet Capri I purchased in 1971 for $750. It was a 289 automatic, factory A/C, power steering, maroon with black vinyl top. I sold it in 1977 for $500 and have yet to see another Comet Capri. Thanks for sharing and reminding me of my first car.
26,000 is a lot of money for a car with the rust and scratches all over it I'm just saying there's a lot of cars you can buy for $26,000 out there really nice ones
I think it’s worth more than 15 grand. It may not be as high as 26,000, but it’s probably pretty close being that it’s all original and had only two owners. All it needs is paint. Have you seen the price of some of these cars nowadays?
Something about a nice clean original that can never be duplicated by the best resto. Cant explain why but love time capsules like this. Shes a beaut, Clark! So does garage staff have to drive them and leave the fast stuff for Boss Hog?
Definitely needs paint. If I owned that, my first and last stop would be at Fantomworks. Power disc brakes, Coyote engine, suspension upgrades and anything else Dan Short could find that needed fixin'.
WOW $26K ? The car is nice, very clean, but a 289 ci V8, w/ automatic c4 transmission, maybe $15/16 is more realistic. However a good deal is only what one is willing to pay for anything.
This would make a great daily for someone. Could care less about a couple flaws...bit of rust Id fix touch up and drive! Grandmother had one new, manual steering drum brakes 352 auto no AC. Common to see older retirees wheeling these around nobody complained about power windows...wimps .lol
66 and 67 fairlanes were good looking cars, but didn't hold a candle to the solidity of the gm midsized cars of that time. I prefer the fords but the truth had set me free..
My grandma had a galaxy 500gt with a 390 4 barrel, my cousins stupid boyfriend totaled it probably showing out and didn't have a dime to help her replace it 😡
King of the World, Scott Anthony McCoy grandson of Austin McCoy likes his cars in his collection, don't you sell my car. Put it back in my collection !!!👑🌎😡😡😡
26k this guy's out of his mind
I always liked the 66 - 67 Ford Fairlane , nice proportions 😊
It is definitely clean nice looking car. I actually like that color

It amazes me how people complain about the prices on these cars but yet they sell them like candy bars.
