16 bit 44.1 khZ is sufficient for streaming and podcast but not for professional music work. Software synthesizes will do something called Aliasing where lower pitched samples will bounce off Nyquist back into audible range again. This shouldn't be a issue for microphone work unless you you clip, then a higher bitrate can store double the decibel before digital clip
You can see its more of a toy or a basic consumer gadget rather than professional/pro user mixer or an actual tool. Imagine: they felt that the most important features for that device is to bundle all sound sources to one slider and give functions like really bad voice changer and the echo effect. Those are for kids.. That could be a nice product if they would focus on more important stuff. And the sudden cut off of the sound is unacceptable..
Yeah that noice cancellation is a bit aggressive, but it's nice to see functions like sidechain for on the fly live use like that. Seems more in place for livestream gaming content than video creation. I would rather apply those enhancements in post through VST's if needed. 44.1kHz 16 bit is a consumer format. It's easier to work with higher resolution and bigger dynamic range during the creation process but cutting it down to 44.1kHz 16-bit for youtube renders should be no problem if not overkill since it's good enough for cd's. What are the sound quality limitations of youtube anyway? For a little more "proper interface", there's focuseite scarlet, which is quite affordable and should be good enough for content creatiom. Lower self-noise than steinberg equivalents last time I checked, and powerful enough to drive most mics you throw at it. Don't know about bluetooth functionality though.
At least at that price-point, you can't beat this since it supports both XLR and bluetooth. If you're interested in a no-frills mixer with 1 XLR and up to 4 additional analog inputs with levels and balance control for the mic, inputs 2+3, and inputs 4+5, and also a 2-band EQ, check out the Mackie Mix5. Or the Mix8 if you want 3-band EQ and the EQ settings can be individually set for each input. Both are under a hundred bucks.
My feelings are a bit mixed. (No pun intended) While 16 bit 44.1 khz would be fine for me, I could see someone who does pro voice work or music needing more. I'm also not sure if I like having 3 inputs mixed together with one volume slider. Would have preferred each input to have its own. For the sale price not bad but at full price not sure I'd go for it.
Hello how did you make the side chain work? When it is activated, i can hear it is working in direct monitor when listening but when recording or stream, it is not taking effect.
@@philscomputerlab that’s what I am doing but when recording on obs, the side chain is not working, it is just on the mixer that the side chain is working huhu.
Looks nice 👍 Sooo I goofed today... Long story short I've built one computer before my Ryzen 3 1300x all in one retro gaming machine as I like to call it. I've finally got everything to build a slot one pentium 3 motherboard from FB Market place. Instead of spinning rust I'm using a pair of sd to ide adapters but um the sata to Molex adaptor I used to power them just almost started a fire... The sething on one of the red wires completely melted thankfully nothing seems fried the system still posts and I tested the sd card adaptors using a usb hdd adaptor. I think I know what happened, I used those Velcro not velcro 3m command strips to mount the sd to ide adapters to the side of the drive cage. I didn't think of covering the pins to the Molex header on the back of the pcb's so I think I coused a short to ground...
@@igmnk indeed, thankfully the adaptors, ide cable etc all still work but it sets the project back 3 days while waiting for a replacement sata to Molex adaptor sigh
thank you for that nice honest review Phil

That Voice Changer to Robot sounds more of a Darth Vader Impression more than anything xD
The Maono G1 NEO has really high-cost performance and good compatibility. very suitable for streaming.

16 bit 44.1khz is more than enough for this products intended use.

It's not a Roland. Instant dislike. ;)
