Jordan is the best on the Internet talking about this. Most other videos are so convoluted that I can't make heads or tails of them. Jordan's clear, calm delivery is a breath of fresh air. Thank you, sir!
Best instruction video ever! I just bought my first 6 channel mixer and powered speaker combo. I know nothing about PA systems. Your instruction was clear and highly educational. Thanks
Your information was very clear and precise. I have a MG10 mixer that I used at our Church Parish Hall. I have gained a lot more knowledge on your set up. Thank you, Sir.
Great information on mixer essentials, all in one video. I've been struggling getting the settings right on my Pyle PMXU63BT 6-channel mixer. Now I see why. Thank you!
Thanks for helping me get sound from my MG10 to a Powered Speaker using my phone!! Now I need to know how to get sound from a laptop instead of a phone.
Great video Jordan. I did a couple of events setting up lighting and sound systems and everything you said was on point. I wanted to learn about using the mixer and you explained it very well. I would add bringing enough black tape to tape over any cables exposed to walking areas. Last thing you want is guests tripping over cables and them blaming the audio/video guy. Cheers
Hey Jordan. Just wanted to let you know that you helped me in successfully connecting my Scarlett 2i2 to my studio monitor (where I was struggling to get the darn thing working). I must admit, I’m not very good when it comes to audio connections. But your video was quite easy to understand. So, “keep on keeping”! More power to you👍
Very nicely explained. Well structured, easy to understand and follow, even by novices and the uninitiated to the exciting field of acoustic/sound engineering. Thank you.
i wish i'd seen this video many years ago. this is clear, concise, instructive and i can barely wait 'til i apply what i've learned to my setup. thank you!
probably the best instructional video I have seen. Having said that i would massively appreciate some clarity on volume/frequency bands use on active speaker/mixing desk
Before I really knew what I was doing when it came to mixer boards, I always related "GAIN" to volume, but later realized its actually "Signal" and not volume. Explains alot when your trying to fix feedback lol ;)
Well done video. Instead of using an extension cord to determine if you have power, get an outlet tester for about $10. Then you will know that you also have ground. Very important for a sound system. When discussing volume and gain, you recommend using the volume until you can't get any more, then adding gain to compensate. I would suggest setting the gain to achieve unity level before turning the volume up at all. If your mixer has a pfl switch, enact that and use the meters to see what your incoming level is. Set that as close as possible to unity, then (and only then) set your volume to an appropriate level.
Jordan!!! Thank you!! This is an amazing video and super easy to understand! I show this video to beginners looking to learn how to setup events. I went and bought the same audio mixer since you did such an amazing job explaining everything! Thank you!
Very well explained 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Very thorough explanation and informative👍🏼 I’VE LEARNED A LOT FROM THIS VIDEO👍🏼. THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS. I’M FOLLOWING ALL YOUR VIDEOS😉. ALL THE BEST BRO👍🏼
i cannot seem to find anywhere that tells me which cables to use (speaker cables or instrument cables) when I am going from my mixer (just like the one in the video) to a power amp using 1/4 inch jacks...meaning that I am NOT going directly to powered speakers.
Thanks for this very informative video! I have a question. We just purchased a Yamaha MG16XU for my church. The mixer will be in the back room and we want to connect our stereo digital piano from the front of the room into the mixer (about 25-30 feet). What would be the best way to do that?
Hello sir......I am going to get that three prong cord. But when the speaker is plug in the extension cord then that is plug into the surger. I tried to listen but could not hear that part. I singer at coffee houses. I started bringing my own surger to connect my speaker.... Thank you very much for your help.
Great video. I have the 10/2 some quite some time. I want to use this mixer with a Mac Book and a powered mixer, if possible, a dj controller and 2 300 watt speaker, for maybe a small venue. A lot of this technical side is foreign to me. Hopefully, afyer I replay this video several times, i will get the hang of it.
Thank you so much after following your instructions how to connect my iPhone to mg10xu to speakers....now I got beautiful musics sound and louder I want too .
We'd love to see a photo of your sound system. Tag us @kettnercreative on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc..
