No. Back in late 2017, I cross-shopped the Accord, Camry, and Mazda 6. Ended up buying the 2018 Accord Touring for multiple reasons: it was the best driving, had the best interior ergonomics, the roomiest interior, and the best overall tech at the time (minus the lack of a surround view camera the Camry had). At that time, you couldn't get memory seats or ventilated seats in the 2018 Camry at any trim level, even the nearly $40K XSE V-6. Those were a deal breaker for me. Toyota rectified that shortcoming with the mid-cycle refresh, but it was three years too late for me. The Camry also had an incredibly jerky 8-speed transmission. Test drove a few and they all had the same issue. The Mazda 6 drove well and had a luxurious interior, but felt dated and the tech was pretty lacking. Plus Mazda's reliability and resale trail Toyota and Honda quite a bit. I still don't regret buying the Accord nearly 4 years and 57K miles later, it has been 100% mechanically reliable so far. There is a reason the Accord is Car and Driver's most winning car of all time on their annual 10 Best List... it is just an all-around great vehicle. Even now, in it's 5th model year, it almost always wins every single comparison test, even against freshly redesigned competitors like the K5 and Sonata.
Even the Malibu 1.5t is quicker than the Accord 1.5t in Motor Trend handling test: "The Malibu lapped our figure-eight course in 27.4 seconds averaging 0.63 g through the process and managed 0.84 g average during lateral acceleration tests" 2018 Accord 1.5t only registered a lateral grip of 0.81g versus 0.78 and a figure-eight time of 27.7 seconds at 0.61g A Malibu 1.5T can be had for US$13,000 good luck finding Japanese competition that inexpensive.

I don't like the refreshed front grille design in the Camry. Toyota went for a sportier look, however the the front grille design does not look cohesive at all. That said, the reliability of Camry is second to none. I drove a Camry 2005 for almost 4 years till early 2021 without any reliability issue and pushed the odometer reading up to 230k. However, at a price range between 30k to 40k, the new boys (Sonata N-line, k5 GT) worth getting a serious look for their outstanding bang for the buck in terms of performance, technology, design, etc.
Hyundai and Kia are junk cars; their reliability not even comparable to well known Toyota’s durability. After owning a Toyota Sienna for about 15 years and racking up over 200k with just routine oil changes and other fluid replacement, I decided to buy Hyundai Sonata in 2017. I didn’t like the fact that I had to change my oil every 3000 miles, this car was 2017 car. I was changing my 2002 Toyota van’s oil every 5000 miles, regular conventional oil, and still going strong to this day. In 2019, I started having acceleration issue with my 2017 Hyundai Sonata that took whole year to figure out what the issue was. They’d fix the issue after a week or few months during some instances, and problem still kept coming back and recurring. The issue didn’t get fixed completely until early 2020, and they had denied all my requests to take back the car and refund me what it’s worth. Horrible company and not even comparable to Toyota in terms of quality of the cars.

I have a 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid in metallic black and just love my Camry. now i have a question and it is, what would you prefer? Toyota Camry? Honda Accord or Mazda 6? Greetings from Germany ✌
I recently test drove an '18 Accord Sport, '18 Accord EX-L, and '21 Camry XLE. (Couldn't find many new Accords on lots nearby.) My impression was that they seemed pretty close in terms of cabin noise, but even the Accord Sport seemed to have the more comfortable ride. Do you have any impression of how ride comfort compares between them? (And perhaps how they compare to other mid-sized sedans?)
You’re located in the same city as I am - that being said. What is the best dealership to get a new XLE at? The Toyota dealership in the town south of you does not have the best reviews.
My 2020 Camry is very Jekyll and Hyde. I like the look of it, it gets fantastic gas mileage, and it's reasonably comfortable. But the transmission is super jerky, the infotainment sucks, and the interior is cheap and it rattles like crazy and I only have 22,000 miles. I'm sure it will be reliable, but I probably won't buy another. My other car is a 2020 Legacy and that car is built way better. I should have bought the Accord.
Love my Accord. 2019 EX-L Hybrid with 48mpg, drives like a baby Acura, and got it for a steal too. It’s one of those cars that every day you drive it, it reminds you why you wanted it in the first place despite being 2-3 years old.
My 2021 Camry I bought 40 days ago already has interior rattling at low speeds. The else thing that is super annoying is that outside wind noise, it feels like my windows are all open at high speed. I’ve looked it up and it seems that this is one of the flaws of the Camry. I don’t know if it’s true or I should take it back to the dealer.

I've had a Mazda 6 and multiple Camrys, two of which are XLE's. I'm hard pressed to switch away from Camry for all it's perks for the price.
I really appreciate that great ownership input!
I feel the same way ... I would not trust a Mazda as it ages . Poor resale ... Hard to sell as used vehicles .
Love the wheels on the vehicle😃
Good review . I like the XLE and bought one .I had a 2019 Accord EXL 2.0 auto . It did handle and drive well as you NOTED . The turbo engines are a little harsh and unrefined for me . The Camry is about Lexus smooth . I was going to get the Lexus ES-350 . This suited my needs very well . I like the Sonar Blind spot monitoring rear cross traffic alert ,Front and rear braking assist ...The same as the Lexus has . The Accord did not have that feature .
Great video Raiti!!
The Camry is not luxury. It’s nice but it’s just whatever. We had one for our rental in FL. We have the Mazda 6 and I’ll keep the Mazda.
Mazda 6 isn't luxury either. Not sure what you're saying there.
@@porfiriato84 yes it is it’s nicer than a Q5
@@brynnleahnayvieghlaykynnn6175 again. Mazda 6 is not in the luxury category. Just bc it has a nice interior doesn't make it a "luxury" vehicle.
@@porfiriato84 that category doesn’t mean shut but badges tell me how is it not a luxury vehicle if it has a nicer interior than a lot of luxury cars and has the same features and similar performance
@@porfiriato84 Cadillac and Infiniti are technically luxury but Mazda’s are way nicer than those even some lexus
nice review, as always.
Love my SUV,but still love
Mid size sedans @ compact sedans. Especially Toyota
12:41 according to Car and Driver, and Edmunds, the Honda Accord has the most leg room out of the three with 42.1 inches of rear leg room, then it’s the Mazda 6 with 38.7 inches and the Camry with 38 inches.
something still tells me Joe isn’t a big fan of Mazdas.
I love your channel Raiti.
This Camry has a face that only a blind mother who can't read Braille would love! Love your videos brother Joe.... Keep bringing that on throttle!
Great Review 👍🏻👍🏻
should i buy this car or save up for a lexus?
I like the hood prop rode.. those shocks wear out over time
Thanks for your input on this one.
in these times: instead of MSRP lets talk about the out the door dealer scam price with the waiting period. lol
There are to many variables for that.
Yea, my local stealer had a 2019 Corolla SE listed for $31,000
@@JoeSmith-ez3zg Daaamn ...LOL
When it comes to luxury, style and elegance the Mazda 6 still holds the crown.
Selling so good Mazda cancelled it.
@@YasssStitch lol.
Mazda hold the crown for POOR resale ... I don`t know anyone who would buy one of those .. LOL
@@randyjackson347 so you buy cars just based on resale value?
@@kristians2704 The best cars /best resale and reliability . Look at the resale of 4Runners and Tacoma`s as well I like vehicles that will last and are proven . I only put about 20 to 30k or less miles on a vehicle and move on to a new one.
Some jeeps have great resale but their reliability is pure garbage ...
I would only buy Toyota/ Lexus and Honda /Acura ... I have had all kinds and they were garbage in comparison .. Especially BMW ,Audi and MB ... NO domestics as well I had anew Corvette .. it stayed in the shop ... Got rid of it with 1,800 miles .
Let's face it. Nobody really wants to own a Toyota Camry but every one wishes they're automobile was as reliable and trouble free as one
You think so?
Your best parking lot location? LOL. like your sense of humor Joe.....
Torque: 362Nm
Quarter mile measured at: 161kmh
Weight: 1590kg
Fuel consumptions: 7.63l/100km in city, 9.43l/100km on highway
Boot capacity: 427l
One day, I get used 2021 Toyota Camry XLE.
Toyota moving the intotainment looks so bad, you can see where original A/C vents they blanked off
That is such a very good point!
OMG! Can't unsee this now that u pointed it out. Screen looks like an aftermarket addition. 🤔
can you do comparison with K5, Passat, Malibu, Altima, which one to buy?
This Camry still closely resembles my 2016 Camry for sure 👍
Sorry, the car is reliable and luxurious but OMG, that front is not ugly, is horrible 😦. Your review, as always, on point 👍
Hi, i have a question, Can I change the xle bumper to xse?
Also, does this car creaks in the interior?
You’re located in the same city as I am - that being said. What is the best dealership to get a new XLE at? The Toyota dealership in the town south of you does not have the best reviews.
They are all really nice vehicles!
I am glad that you like it Michael!
I actually do want one of these. I’m not a car guy, nor enjoy driving, so I appreciate the reliability of the Camry as a workhorse vehicle
Get rid of it then.
Have the dealer put more insulation in the dashboard while it is still under warranty. Transmission works as designed for fuel efficiency.
You can't go wrong buying a Toyota Camry, as reliable as they are, but Honda Accord is tough to beat.
Mazda 6 is the answer. Awesome design, sporty driver experience and looks very good inside. And few problems with them.
I would go Camry, I personally would pay extra for XSE and also Camry because I think it’s the only midsize sedan that offers AWD and being up here in Minnesota with our winter, AWD is a must
I’m not endorsing the Nissan Altima but it also has AWD. The Lexus ES 250 is now AWD, more expensive than the Camry , but it has some pluses.
The XSE is about 500.00 more base price the the XLE ... The XSE and XLE are the two top trims . Real leather interior ..Not softex like most .
@@billbrimmer1739 The Camry has AWD as well on ALL trim levels ...
@@randyjackson347 yes I’m aware of that. My point is that it isn’t mated with the 6 cylinder. Same issue with the Lexus ES 350.
@@billbrimmer1739 There would be low demand for a V6 AWD ... Marketing Analyst Did a report and only 6 percent would buy the V6 AWD ... That will not happen ... Poor investment with little interest .
Looks good Joe.
Great vehicle for the $.
Good mpg for a v6.
Probably last forever
The v6 mpg Is insane. On the highway I got as much as 40mpg in my XSE v6
Not the Supra (BMW) No need for the Avalon when you get the XLE with the V6.
Great sedan a nice seller to me
Thank you for this review. I think I’m going with the Toyota just on reliability and innovation. The Accord is nice but it doesn’t have AWD nor a Panoramic Sunroof!
Check out the Sonata, best full size sedan on the market right now
I am very curious why you called Camry a luxury sedan lol! But nice review raiti!
He didn't; Toyota did.
(It's what the 'L' stands for in XLE. See how that works?)
The Camry look so dull compared to the Mazda 6. I have a Mazda 6 2015 myself, and is super satisfied with that one. Looks so good, superb driver focused and really reliable!
I own the 2021 Camry XLE 4 cylinder Terrible Acceleration ! Previous Accord owner switched because I wanted a AWD car , the only reason
But it gets great fuel economy.
Nice to see that you're making full use of that rear view mirror 😂😂😂
Hello to my favorite UA-camr
that metallic blue! 💙💙💙💙💙
Looks really good.
Can you do a review on the 2022 CX5? Looks like there are a few changes from 2021
Question: Ever thought of doing the 2022 Toyota Tundra unveiling on the 19th?
LOL Funny you bring that up because I will have the actually 2022 Tundra for you on the 19th! You are not going to want to do this.

I hope this car would be sold in Italy as well!! But unfortunately it won't happen.....
If a car don’t require much of repairing, does it still consider a luxury vehicle?
Sure why not?
What about the engine. The v6 in the Camry is so smooth near Lexus like levels in smoothness
Hi Zonkman, I love this vídeo. I think for me ir Toyota sould"ve corten everything right amo the gime without any mistake, I think it sould ve a great idea.
Wtf did I just attempt to read?
Joe and Lori, could you review the 2021/2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD XSE??
We will get that together for you Dan! Hopefully soon!
Nope! Went with an all Japanese or at least 90% Mazda 6 and could not be any happier!
Hi Joe, I would love a review of camry xse v6 2022
1:15 “toyota CAMERA” 🤣
I hate they don't do sunroofs in Europe on the Camry ...
Edit: No connectivity in the center arm rest either.
I like this one too its pretty cool. Better than the Mazda6??? Really joe more room in the back than mazda?
Mazda is lackluster ....No fan base ..poor resale .
