I did that when I was a kid. One cereal box (reenforced with balsa wood) with a hole cut, and six rubber bands stretched to different lengths. Didn't stay in tune for more than about 30 seconds but it worked.

Good for you ! . I can do the Coors thing, but other than that you are a genius. What a terrific progect for somebody that understands the project, and the results that will make them happy. You made me happy, thank you.
This is probably the most hillbilly southern trailer park guitar I’ve ever seen and I love it😂 it would’ve been better if it was a banjo made out of a shovel
A couple of years ago I built a shovel guitar for a local R&R musician friend of mine. When he cranks that thing up on stage his crowds go absolutely wild when they hear its gritty, hardcore, raunchy tone.
For the fret markers you could have used .22 long or .22 short shell casings as the spent casings are quite sharp at the edges and drive into wood nicely
I came randomly came across your channel and I have watched several of your videos now, and I just gotta say amazing talent! Keep doing what your doing. I wish you nothing but the best. 🇺🇸✊🏻
Awesome. The sound out of that was like a punch to the beer gut! Now I'll spend the next 7 hours with my Line 6 Spider trying to get that EXACT tone....👍👍
OMG! It's Balalaika! A electrical playing balalaika! In Russia, there is the band, called "Krasnaya Plesen". This guys, actually record one of his albums playing on the shovels like instruments, crafted by themselves. And I really enjoy watching this and another video on this channel. Good luck.
Great video! Not sure if you're soliciting ideas for your next build, but in case you're interested and/or receptive to ideas, here's mine: Build an electric guitar out of Lego bricks. (just the body of the guitar, NOT the neck, similar to your other builds) Get a bunch of Lego bricks (the six-dot ones would be best), drill small holes in each one, a couple holes through the top and a couple on the sides (this is so the resin can flow through the entire body of the guitar), assemble the bricks into the rough shape of a guitar and then put it in a box. Fill the box with resin, and then (similar to what you did with your other builds) take the body out and cut out the guitar from the block of resin and Lego bricks. I think it would look cool and make for an interesting project.
I really hope you intended this as a response and a big middle finger to that guy that made a video about "making a guitar out of paper" just so he could talk trash about you making guitars out of color pencils!
IIRC they harden most shovels. If I was going to do this, I'd heat cycle it a few times to soften the steel. (MAP or propane torch and get it red hot then let it slowly cool.) It may affect the sound so plan out were you going to drill and focus the heat.
"I've never played this type of guitar before, so there's a steep learning curve."
*plays like a master*
Its soo easy
I’m still confused on the part where he gets a better sound on his shovel than me on an American player strat
He scoops his mids
*scoops*
Additionally to what was said. He overlayed the audio and remastered in a program. Still a cool project.
I'm not a musician, but it didnt sound like that until it went through the program ? So basically, the guitar doesn't sound like that.
@@meyep3386 pretty much every guitar you have ever heard, unless it was being played in the room you were, in will have gone through as much processing so that's irrelevant really.
It appears your videos are a documentation of your slow descent into madness as you make guitars out of increasingly obscure things

Make a shovel with a 59 Burst

Awesome job. I’ve built 4 shovels and the hardest part for me is drilling the shovel head itself. Do you have any tips?
Use a drill bit for metal
IIRC they harden most shovels. If I was going to do this, I'd heat cycle it a few times to soften the steel. (MAP or propane torch and get it red hot then let it slowly cool.) It may affect the sound so plan out were you going to drill and focus the heat.
