Are you sure about that? I've just watched a lot of videos about this man and a lot of it is not good. Be careful who you follow blindly. Just because makes sense on 1 subject does not mean you trust him on other subjects..I've seen more than enough about him and the Yaqeen institute that tells me be careful who you trust. In a few years your kids might be part of the LBGT movement, then we see how much you praise people like him.
I think Malek bin Diner was talking about his face been illuminated with noor. It is customary in Muslim community to refer very pious person's face been illuminated (noorani face) because of his god fearing nature and good deeds. Allah knows the best!
The question has to be asked because of how often Islam and Arab/Pakistani/Turkish, etc, etc. are conflated by Muslims and non-muslims. So, yes the question has to be asked and unwrapped because it is not clear to those who live in the real world, especially those who have converted and continue to face racism from non-black Muslims, where confusion and misinformation are rife.
As usual, brilliant explanations from Dr Brown. Dr Brown mentioned about contacting him by email with questions. I have a very important question. But I didn't see the email. Could I have Dr Brown's email please? Jazakallh.
The whitewashed explanation of a Sufi is all I need to know that there is information that is incorrect. The original Sufi had nothing to do with Rumi, poetry or spinning in circles. They were homeless and devoted most of their time to studying the Quran and Hadith. It goes back to the time of Muhammad (blessings of God and his peace be upon him).
Mr Brown you ( and other scholars) are such a blessing to the umma, may Allah reward you with a place in the Firdaouss Ameen.

Dr. Brown looks amazingly stunning in his ponytail. May Allah SWT
keep him under the shade of His mercy.
