@Nola_Bound need to replace some small stuff. I'm doing the lifters and rockers this weekend because I hear some lifters tucking. Not too bad of a job if you can do it yourself. I also need some o2 sensors because it doesn't accelerate like it should and my mileage has been getting worse. And I also just started losing my fuel pump. All in all nothing major. Just items that typically fail after enough miles.
I just got this one in black for $23k with 28k miles. Very well kept! Couldn’t pass on that deal. Also I’m coming from an avenger. It actually had a lot of problems and didn’t want to fix it up.
I prefer washing my vehicles at the wand washes. I never use the foam brushes at those places though! I still got my 2005 Bonneville I bought with 41k miles now has 77k miles. And it has never seen the foam brush or an automatic wash. Its parked in a heated garage every night. How much do you spend on the auto-wash? I spend maybe 6 bucks maximum at the wand. Plus I like cleaning the wheel well liners.
I have the same but 2018 Challenger with 25K miles. I would highly recommend get blind mirrors CIPA (49002 model), the concavity and quality is great. My dodge drives in winter too (up to -26C), so far I had trunk holders replaced as well as front struts leaked twice (replaced twice). Perhaps this car has the worst frontal struts that cannot stand cold temperatures (do you know good aftermarket ones?) Gas-mileage is fantastic (6.9L per 100km on a highway) Great vehicle nonetheless!
My wife has a 2017 Challenger GT AWD. With 36,500 miles on it. We live in Mn. And its been in ( -neg 35F ). And we have had no problems, the last 3 years with it. The front struts are Fine. I agree Great Mpg. She gets 26.8 Mpg City/Hwy with it.
I been in the market for a 2020 Dodge Challenger base on your 100k review for the 2016. What do you think a 2020 dodge with 100k miles will hold up too!?!?!?

The only 2 issues I had and still have with my Challenger (2015) is the track pak option..I pressed the button and nothing would happened..nor could I get the traction control off..so I took the center console apart, unplugged the plugs and when I did that it worked again, so I put some dielectric grease and put it together and its been fine ever since..the other issue is the tranny when cold..seems to slip slightly only from 2nd to third and 4th to fifth..once it warms up its gone and shifts normally...Im not sure but sounds like a solenoid problem, but not sure if this transmission has this set up...
I'm on the fence about getting one. I commute about 100miles a day round trip for work. My main concern is longevity. If I were to pick up a used one with a 5yr loan I would put theoretically 100k miles. I keep my vehicles til the wheels fall off. Would I be ok past 100k miles on this v6 platform. I'm also a stickler for maintenance and doing oil and filter changes religiously with full synthetic. All advice is welcome. Thanks
Hello Chris Any vehicle generally speaking, will last a reasonable length of time if maintained extremely well. The Stellantis ( formerly known as FCA) full size rear wheel and all wheel drive vehicles are very durable and reliable in general. The 3.6l pentastar, the oil and filter can be changed every 5 000 or so miles, however, on the Hemi v8s, it should be changed every 3 000 miles with synthetic as this will prevent the infamous hemi tick and eventually needing a complete valve train. Although it only affect less than 5 percent of the hemi vehicles. Another thing you can get is a high volume oil pump to increase the oil flow to the horizontally planed lifters. This oil pump is only available through the aftermarket. Not sure what company it is but investing in a high volume capacity oil pump will increase the durability of these hemis immensely. Also, if you are buying used hemi vehicles, never buy anything that was used as a fleet vehicle, most particularly police cars. Aside from that, I would prefer the V6 to the V8, for best all around economy and use. I hope this helps
@@sensiblebabyandreality6804 Thank you for the in depth information. You eased my mind about buying one. I don't see myself buying a hemi but hey money talks. I'm partial to the v6 mostly bc it would be my dd. Could careless about the stigma and the whole why didn't you get a v8 thing. Bc fck you that's why lol. It's what I prefer and it fits my needs. As far as oil goes I run synthetic. I'm sure there are other cars in that class and price point but looks do play a factor under said reliability. I drive a boring ass mazda right now so anything would be an upgrade really. I know we talked mostly about challengers but I was considering an ecoboost mustang as well again mpg. A friend tried to convert me to the Darkside with vw but I just don't think I can. But I digress. Thanks again
I know this video was put out 4 years ago but I just bought a 2023 challenger. I’m asking if you had to change out the oil filter housing yet? I hear they go bad often. Just wanting your thoughts?
I love mine : 2018 got it in 2020 put 70k miles on it in 2 years thanks to the virus. Everyday driver , road trips , ho pick up and drop off , I love my dodge . Deciding now if I want a 2021 or a new engine.
Does the V6 really have that DAMN!! power, or is it underwhelming for a 6? I like the SXT's, but I got my eye on a 392 SP right now too. Great video, thanks!
0-60 in about 6.1 in my 2020 blacktop it pushes me back into my seat and upgrading from a base Nissan Versa I feel like I’m in a racecar but I guess to someone who’s always drove fast cars it might feel underpowered
Just hit 104k in my 2016, changed the spark plugs, have been doing oil changes. Changed out brake pads and rotors around 50k. No other issues. Wondering if you had any additional issues pop up post-100k miles? Trying to keep an eye on what to look out for as I continue owning this vehicle for another 3 years
Well the new ones all have backup cameras so it eliminates one problem. But merging I do feel like I have to do a triple-take before I start to move over.
I’ve been looking into these and the v6 Charger as well as the r/t models of both. Is the v6 powerful enough for you? Is it fast enough? I have a super slow 2013 4 cylinder avenger and I’m looking to get a powerful vehicle, but the only thing turning me off to the r/t models is the gas mileage.
The v6 has plenty of power for my needs. Test drive one... I think you will be pleasantly surprised :) FYI, The base Charger doesn't have dual exhaust but cops use them and are able to chase other cars down so that should tell you something.
Wow, a used rental sports car lasting up till 100k miles, very interesting. Just rented a 2020 Durango with the same engine and the 8 speed (ZF?) transmission. A little heavy but was a great highway cruiser with a smooth powertrain. Was never a fan of FCA products but speaking of powertrain, the 3.6 N/A engine with the 8 spd was pretty solid! Though I would never buy a used vehicle with a rental history, I guess on-time maintenance and a reliable powertrain can go a long way. (though I absolutely hate the flimsiness of FCA interiors)
Don't drive like a maniac and to most peoples surprise, the car last a long while. I personally am not a sedan/sports car guy, mostly into SUVs or trucks.
A dash cam is a small camera mounted on a vehicle’s dashboard or windshield to continuously record the road ahead (and sometimes behind). It provides footage that can be useful in case of accidents, insurance claims, or capturing unexpected events while driving.
If your getting around 27mpg in city driving that's amaznhg. Or is that combined city and highway? My Challenger GT gets 14mpg in city driving which is what I do the most. I have not had any issues with my car. It's Pentastar V6 had plenty enough power for me. Good review by the way.
How many time have you been pulled over? How many where deserved? I am thinking of getting the 2020 SXT AWD plus package and am seriously considering going and putting in a down payment.
Is it smart to get a 2016 challenger SXT with 57k miles for $18,000? is that an ideal price for one? Or is something wrong. I’m a first time buyer so anything helps
It’s a bit high but nowadays that price may be normal . In the past I’ve gotten cars with 30k for 17 grand . But prices have gone up and dealers are extra sketchy now
Not in my experience. I know hundreds of people who have the ZF 8-speed transmission in their vehicles with a lot more miles than 100k. Look at how many brands use this transmission en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission

Still has a great looking car but I chose a HEMI
Amazing loved these since 2008
My 2015 has 150k and runs great, love the car
How’s it holding up now I just got a hold of a 2014 dodge challenger sxt with 150,000 miles
@Nola_Bound How much you pay for it

Rental car drivers are a whole other breed.😬
You are so correct! I just got back from a trip and rented a Dodge Charger with a hemi, I pushed that thing hard!
I just got this one in black for $23k with 28k miles. Very well kept! Couldn’t pass on that deal. Also I’m coming from an avenger. It actually had a lot of problems and didn’t want to fix it up.
How's it holding up?
I bought a 2020 sxt i wanna keep it forever I believe when dodge will discontinue the challenger my car will become a great collection car
Congrats on 100 k miles.
Wow no new break pads after putting 80k miles on them... you should change your name to Eddie Lightfoot 😂
Beautiful car. I bought a hertz 2020 Kia Optima LX with 14.6k miles
flc2009 Thats a pretty basic car
A rental car? Yikes.
With that being said.. would it be stupid to buy a used dodge challenger with over 100,000 miles on it.. or maybe 80,000?.. and make it my travel car?
Next is to change that Radio to uconnect 8.4
I been in the market for a 2020 Dodge Challenger base on your 100k review for the 2016. What do you think a 2020 dodge with 100k miles will hold up too!?!?!?
Get a HEMI,bulletproof and the RT IS FUN.
Great video I love challengers I want to get me a v6 just wondering do you still own it you should make more videos on your personal challenger Nobody makes great videos on the v6 challenger like you do.
Its only 5 years old. Regardless of the miles, any car should have minimal problems. You should do an update at 150k+ or 10+ years old.
Great video! This is a real-world review.
I got a 2017 challenger charcoal grey with charcoal grey rims V6. I got it because of the looks 305 hP I’m good. I’m not trying to impress another guy trying to get a hell cat. I impress women all the time with a V 6 it all look the same. Be yourself
I have the same car. First thing I did I upgraded to 8.4 uconnect with Apple CarPlay and got a spoiler with camera. I also got borla attak
where did u get the 8.4 uconnect screen from and how much?
Beautiful car, Hope to have one one day!
You think a rly good condition 2010 challenger would last with 175K miles?
The only 2 issues I had and still have with my Challenger (2015) is the track pak option..I pressed the button and nothing would happened..nor could I get the traction control off..so I took the center console apart, unplugged the plugs and when I did that it worked again, so I put some dielectric grease and put it together and its been fine ever since..the other issue is the tranny when cold..seems to slip slightly only from 2nd to third and 4th to fifth..once it warms up its gone and shifts normally...Im not sure but sounds like a solenoid problem, but not sure if this transmission has this set up...
I’m looking at getting a Challenger. How does it do as a daily? I drive a lot.
Where is this night video ??? I looked & didn't see 👀....
ua-cam.com/video/TyxBb9zn0gg/v-deo.html
Nice, when you maintain your car properly it can last. And is that a Toys R Us building? Lol.
I was parked in front of the local gym :)
Those doors are like bank vault size!
Hello, do you know if the backup camera can be added to a car that doesn't come with one or will I have to replace the entire spoiler?
at 80k miles the ignition coil went off and spark plus and oil housing… estimated fixed price was like close to 2k
What year and trim is yours?
@@mustaphaneftah639 2016 sxt
thanks mike, going to get one tomorrow and I wanted some info
I can’t believe that nobody has mentioned anything about the 81,000 miles in 3 years I have had mine for about a year and I just hit 7,000
I do about 40k miles a year in my sales job. All over the Southeast. And thats only driving 3 days a week!
I'm at 14k in 7 months 😢
I'm on the fence about getting one. I commute about 100miles a day round trip for work. My main concern is longevity. If I were to pick up a used one with a 5yr loan I would put theoretically 100k miles. I keep my vehicles til the wheels fall off. Would I be ok past 100k miles on this v6 platform. I'm also a stickler for maintenance and doing oil and filter changes religiously with full synthetic. All advice is welcome. Thanks
Hello Chris
Any vehicle generally speaking, will last a reasonable length of time if maintained extremely well.
@@sensiblebabyandreality6804
Thank you for the in depth information.
I looked onlin3 and they say it will last for 200-300k miles
How many miles does it have now? Any issues yet?
Dont expect nothing crazy but its not bad
0-60 in about 6.1 in my 2020 blacktop it pushes me back into my seat and upgrading from a base Nissan Versa I feel like I’m in a racecar but I guess to someone who’s always drove fast cars it might feel underpowered
A good real world review😀👍👍
Just hit 104k in my 2016, changed the spark plugs, have been doing oil changes. Changed out brake pads and rotors around 50k. No other issues. Wondering if you had any additional issues pop up post-100k miles? Trying to keep an eye on what to look out for as I continue owning this vehicle for another 3 years
how do u deal with the blind spots. i’m thinking of getting one and i live in los angeles
I think you will be pleasantly surprised :)
FYI, The base Charger doesn't have dual exhaust but cops use them and are able to chase other cars down so that should tell you something.
V6 has 305hp. Plenty power
The door bushings are going out i just heard a squeal
Wow, a used rental sports car lasting up till 100k miles, very interesting. Just rented a 2020 Durango with the same engine and the 8 speed (ZF?) transmission. A little heavy but was a great highway cruiser with a smooth powertrain. Was never a fan of FCA products but speaking of powertrain, the 3.6 N/A engine with the 8 spd was pretty solid! Though I would never buy a used vehicle with a rental history, I guess on-time maintenance and a reliable powertrain can go a long way. (though I absolutely hate the flimsiness of FCA interiors)
-Also that radar detector is identical to the one I use.
I am trying to find something flimsy in my car's interior. Can you clue me in?
@@MikesCarInfo Yes. did not mean to offend you :( the headliner has a play quite a bit as well as the center console piece etc.
I am not offended lol I just didn't know what you were referring to :)
Don't drive like a maniac and to most peoples surprise, the car last a long while. I personally am not a sedan/sports car guy, mostly into SUVs or trucks.
What is a dash cam?
A dash cam is a small camera mounted on a vehicle’s dashboard or windshield to continuously record the road ahead (and sometimes behind). It provides footage that can be useful in case of accidents, insurance claims, or capturing unexpected events while driving.
Why do you use conventional? Why not synthetic, it’s not that much more.
I just went with the Dodge recommended oil. It was a used vehicle that already had conventional up until I bought it.
The 3.6 has plenty of power for the street, there is to much traffic to drive fast..
Not once
Is 120k miles bad?
Is it smart to get a 2016 challenger SXT with 57k miles for $18,000? is that an ideal price for one? Or is something wrong. I’m a first time buyer so anything helps
I see one with the same numbers but at $24k.
If it’s straight and drives well, I’d pick it up at that price.
It’s a bit high but nowadays that price may be normal . In the past I’ve gotten cars with 30k for 17 grand . But prices have gone up and dealers are extra sketchy now
U may look forward to replacing the transmission not if but when at or around 100,000.
Not in my experience. I know hundreds of people who have the ZF 8-speed transmission in their vehicles with a lot more miles than 100k. Look at how many brands use this transmission en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission
You should add hellcat paddles
Hello mike! Loved your videos. I watch one of your mopar reviews every day. I’m concerned about the fact that there’s no dodge dealership in my country.
Do you think it’s ok to own a Challenger or charger?
Whaaaat? You didn't have to change the brake pads in 100,000 miles? Wish I could get that many on my cars.
I rented one for 2 weeks, drove it like i stole it. I would never buy a rental fleet vehicle. Enterprise loves to buy this because the resale value is so great. Shhh.
Hi guys just please help me to know witch oil filter is good for sxt v6 2021 model
