Regarding the comments where are guys that say this doesn't work, just today I made everything Daniel showed us in this video, and works perfectly. In reWASD program at settings you have an option for PS remote play that you need to activate and you get a preset for keyboard and mouse settings that works fine if you don't want to customize them. This should be supported natively by the ps5/remote play app. The ios and android remote play apps both have onscreen controls programmed in. No reason they couldn't just add support for a keyboard and mouse. For me, the point of remote play is that I can decide to play a game on a whim from anywhere, but if I don't just happen to be carrying around a ps5 controller (which is never) then I'm SOL.
Hard agree. This is just shitty service from Sony and game developers. Why not give console players access to PC controls on console (at the very least on single player games) when most games literally already have that control scheme on PC? I was excited to play the DOOM games with the ps plus subscription but it's so shit with a controller. I wonder why they even ported those games to console if they didn't plan to give console players access to kb+m controls? Really disappointing

If Sony would actually release a next generation console that natively supported K&M, I’d purchase it in a heartbeat. The prices of motherboards, RAM, CPU’s & GPU’s is utterly insane nowadays. I’m a PC gamer, but mainly use a steam deck now, the combination of a trackpad & gyro is as a good as K&M, it’s like a mouse/gamepad combo. I ‘believe’ this is Valves next move, a PC/console hybrid, it’ll combine the price & simplicity of a console, with the freedom and controls of a PC. If the rumours are actually true, it will sell HUGE numbers as it’ll attract both PC & console gamers.
PlayStation does natively support KBM. Most game developers choose not to implement it. Sony would have to force all devs to add it as an optional control scheme which I'm sure they will never do but I hope it becomes more common. Valve already has a Linux based console; it's the Steam Deck. They tried a regular console form factor already with the Steam Machine and it was a failure.
Exactly, most games don’t support it, so if you want to play them as a PC gamer, gotta do all these steps to get it going 🤷♂️
Alot of games are cross play and already have the configurations. It is 2024 get with the fuggin program sony, for God's sake if I wanna use my frying pan or my broom as a Controller there should be an option... doesn't have to be Bluetooth, I'll take damn cord. I just want my hands to be able to move after I'm done gaming. They got old injuries that get grumpy after hr or 2. No issues with m&kb though.

Bought the Ps5 8 months ago, I got insurgency sandstorm, far cry 6, battlefield, last of us... just to realize I really suck when it comes to aiming with a controller. I tried your method and it only work while using an older version of ps remote app, the 5.50 one.
You just revive my ps5 and been playing all day insurgency sandstorm, I only play coop against bot, and I had 80 kills and 2 death in one game, my best record before that was 20 kills maybe while shooting full auto all over the place, now I single tap, headshots lmao.
It is not like the same as a real mouse gameplay, maybe 80% of it, there's no lag for me, plan is to buy a good mouse this week.

All you had to do was connect your controller to your PC via Cable/Bluetooth and it wouldn't kick you out.
After a recent update to 5.5.0, KB&M is also supported for a select few games.

(More expensive way:) Remote play, using mnk on xim with beloader, threw xim controller app, using a official supported 3rd party ps5 controller, like nacon, to remap mnk - if you don't want lag & remove remoteplay, run ps4 versions. There's a way to avoid using remote play using this method in the dev forums, but it got complicated & I didn't return to learn. If I figure out the rest I will post help.
Oh yeah there are many ways, the one with beloader is quite common, but I wanted a cheap and “simple” way, which this turned out to be. Might not be fast enough for competitive fps esports, but for normal single player gaming it’s perfect 🤩

Update, reWSAD is not just $7. Its $7 for lifetime updates and an additional $7ea for Advanced mapping, button combos, multiple slots, rapid fire, radial menu and mobile control. Clever marketing
Just a few corrections.. it's not a free solution because it costs money. And you do lose quality going via PS Remote Play because the max resolution on that software is only 720p. Look at the difference in contrast between your ace TV and the PS Remote Play window.. Still a good hack though! I think PS5 need to support this natively.
The thing is, I’m not actually watching the ps play screen. I’m watching the PS5 screen so I’m still at 4K. The only reason why I have PS play running (in the background) is as the control vessel for the rewasd to control the game.

Simple question , you say there's no delay on the console that you're controlling the ps5 directly not the remote play. The question is, do you have the ps5 connected to the pc or to the ps5 ? Because when you lunch the game you need the ps5 connected to the console right ? Then you start the remote play and you're able to use rewasd.

I don’t have the pc connected directly to ps5, but I do have them both connected to a 1GB LAN through cables, no wifi, to make sure there are no network bandwidth issues. To be fair I just played GoW and some Horizon, so not the best games to properly test lag, but yeah I can’t feel any delay.
Start PC and PS5>start Remote Play>start reWASD - that’s the sequence.

@@DPDanielPlays Can you tell me what usb hub you have please? Apparently a usb 1.1 or 2.0 (3.0 doesn't work) hub is required for this to work. I don't even think you need to plug the mouse and keyboard into it, just for it to be plugged in the PC (not sure about that one). Thanks in advance
just plug them in to the ps5. theres also adapters that let you play any game with kbm
It's works with bunch of games, not all of them. For an example, i cannot play apex legends with mouse and keyboard
Yeah some games just don’t support M&K. This works for everything. And adapted are like $200…so yeah this is much cheaper 😂
Problem with this is the mouse doesnt work like a mouse. Its super janky and slow and doesnt move very well. No way to do clean smooth turns or aiming with this. Huge waste of time and effort. I assume that DanielPlays realized this which is why we don't get any examples of turning effectively in the video only movement forward and back.
Does it work exactly the same as a mouse on a PC? No. Does it work good enough for most single player games? Hell yeah. You can see me using it through my entire God of War game (which you can see in my steaming live library) and it works like a charm. Smooth turning and aiming. Just gotta tweak the acceleration to fit your preferences.
Listen, for a guy like me who is absolutely useless with a controller, this is the only way I get to play PS exclusives, and it does a good enough job to allow me to enjoy these games without suffering with a controller.
Did you try putting your dpi to the max? Also put your in game sens to the max? Did you even try to configure your mouse settings in the program?
If you use a good quality mouse and a proper gaming monitor than the mouse will work like a mouse, if you use it on a tv - it'll never feel good.
Also, i use m&k directly without any connector - i only play games that support m&k.

Only works with a small amount of games. Most games don’t have native M&K support.

you can also import some config files from other people on rewasd site, it has forbidden west and zero dawn they work perfectly mouse movement is smooth and no delay, great tutorial thanks, now I can finally play on ultra hard blind playthrough forbidden west, joystick is just annoying for me with turning around and aiming,..thanks! also dont forget to merge them kb and mouse in that program , and you can always use windows key to turn off /on... cant wait to try it on rise of the ronin..atm works perfectly with imported config on forbidden west ,like iam playing on PC but better on huge TV..GREAT TUTORIAL U DESERVE A SUB LIKE
honestly, why 99% of dev's still don't enable the already implemented kbm support on PS5 in 2023 is just beyond.... it creates sooo many problems for so many people who simply can't play properly with controllers. instead we have to do this sh*t with shareplay or buy extra peripherals that may or may not work properly
No longer works. To anyone reading this today, this no longer works even on older versions of the app. Just saving u some time, looks like Sony pateched it out on the console side somehow.

Get a membrane keyboard and to leave the games just press pause break, and to navigate the games. Use the arrow keys.
A hardware MnK converter is a good choice. I use ReaSnow S1

I was hoping to use a mouse for aiming via remote play to beat a mini game in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which I can't do with a controller due to the lack of precision.

Might have to try this out for Ghost of Tsushima; it was a giant missed opportunity that gyro wasn't included for bow aiming.

What about the sound, did you listen from the remote PLAY or from the PlayStation5, and is there a difference? Or do you suggest that I connect the PlayStation audio directly to the computer?
That’s a good question! When I’m steaming I use Elgato capture card which translates the PS5 sounds through HDMI into my computer, to make sure video and audio can be streamed through streamlabs. When I’m not streaming however, I just listen to the PS5 sound coming out of my TV…the remote play solely serves one purpose and that’s to translate the controls from a controller to my mouse and keyboard

price of "things" going up mainly GPU's, it's cheaper and much, much easier to play on a console and a great TV. I rather invest 1500 for a complete set up versus 4k for a gaming PC and one monitor to run games at or over 140fps and even that budget stretching it on some games at 4k. Console games obviously run better as they set it up for the expected hardware and performance.
As a developer I can tell you any game that is on PC can also support the keyboard/mouse on console if the devs port the exact same code over..... Many just don't for whatever reason and I am sure some are legit. But with crossplay it shouldn't be an issue even for competitive.
If i ended up buying PS5 just for GTA 6 only i ofc need to play it with keyboard and mouse and ofc PC monitor.

@@Mr.JoeMontanya it's doable bro. I tried it and it actually works after you get to understand the software basics. I played gta 5 and the game run smoothly. Only thing is You won't get fast motion movements like pc mouse because ps5 still thinks that you're using your dualsense. It's a good when playing gta racing. And many other games like that. Will play more titles and post the comments.

Nice, but in your solution there is one fundamental condition: there has to be PS5 and PC in one room. Alternatively laptop nad PS5 in one room.
Not necessarily! You can have them in different rooms, but ideally on the same network. With remote play, as long as your PS5 is on and you can locate it, it can be anywhere. The challenge you will encounter is if your pc or ps5 is connected over wifi or different locations, your delay will increase quite significantly.
@@DPDanielPlays Keyboard and mouse has to be connected to PC with remote play to use rewasd. That way you can't have pc with kb + mouse in other room, cause you have to be able to see tv connected to PS5. Anyway, how you set stick to be resposnsive? I mean I play Crysis Remastered, and I move mouse far away and in game it moves not far and very slow. I watched some tutorials but I can't set it right.
This remote play thing looks like very promising for us who only want play single player games with mouse and keyboard on ps5.

I’m not sure to be honest. I think as long as reWASD works on your mobile device, then I can imagine it working the same way. But the whole thing hangs on being able to translate PS5 controls onto whatever device you’re actually using to play the game (pc and m&k for me), which is done through the reWASD program. If you can get that program on your mobile device, I think you might have a shot
I don't think you would need a good pc, since it's remote play, so it's basically streaming. This should work fine on any PC, if you can get it to work.

there are configs you can import found on rewasd websites..there are two for horizon forbidden west
You could’ve connected to remote play using a different user profile. Then you could sign into your account with the controller. PlayStation will still be s streaming

Yeah for the mouse unfortunately you have to unlock it with $7 fee, to enable mouse configuration. They changes that last year since I made the video…still with it tho

every time I hit apply, it prompts me to restart my pc which defeats the purpose of this thing, I havent done so yet and the remap has not worked even remotely. nothing happens even tho I am using the PS4 remote play 2023 profile...is there one for PS5? or do I need to set this up manually somehow? thanks for the advice

@@tundetaha9129 I did actually, thanks. Getting the mouse sensitivity to a comfortable level is taking some fiddling around, but Im getting the hang of it and honestly, this app is amazing. At some point after the 3rd or fourth time I restarted it started working, but I had selected the wrong keyboard, once I changed it to the correct one it worked perfectly, I even have a logitech controller attached which I can switch to just by using it instead of KbM.
You can play some games like Fortnite Minecraft among us and a lot of other games

also some games have native keyboard and mouse control so no need for remote play you can look up a list online of ps5 games playable with keyboard and mouse.

You can have a lame laptop for this. All the heavy lifting is done by the console.
How is the results using Wi-Fi and some first person shooters with this, I'm tempted to try as I have PS5 and Xim Apex without use (used it with Xbox natively before). Is this also working on Mac?
No clue about working on Mac, and it works fine on Wifi as long as you have strong signal and fast speed.
Isn't there a delay using remote play though?
Honestly man I haven’t noticed any significant delay. I already have a 30ms lag on my TV even while using gaming mod, so that’s the only “delay” I could really feel. I have both my PS5 and PC connected via cable to the same network, so that’s adding to the decreased lag between the two.

setting up good M+KB to Dual Sense controls is such a pain in the ass.Then if you download a premade config you have to sit there and figure out what each button is and get used to that. I just gave up. Ill buy a new controller

You should be able to follow exactly the same steps to play GTA5 and Horizon. Just key binding different, other than that it doesn't matter what game you play. I played GoW, GoW Ragnarok, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, using pretty much the same keybindings and using the same process :)

@@DPDanielPlays I'm trying to play horizon forbidden west on my PS5. I've tried both the PS5 and PS4 versions of the game but I can't get mouse and keyboard working in-game. I know with the latest version of rewasd, you have to use a virtual device that mimics a ds4 so the game has to support ds4 which I thought forbidden west did but it does not. Does horizon forbidden west still work with your mouse and keyboard and if so, which versions of rewasd and ps remote play are you using?

Can I use just any keyboard and mouse for this? I have a wireless noname mouse and a wired noname keyboard. And do I need to have a special external usb port or does it work with the normal usb slots on the pc?
Also, the PS5 and TV are in another room and I want to play via my monitor because that has 4k and the TV does not. But that doesn't seem to be an issue as far as I understand.
Edit: It't not 7 Dollars (or Euro in my case) but double the price, because mapping has to be bought extra. Without the mapping its kinda worthless for that case...
yes any KMB would work and as he stated you are playing on the PS5 so theres no input lag is false, you are playing on the computer via remote play so its possible for input lag which has been my experience even with a PS5 dual sense. To be fair I have not tested this app but I will with the 7 day free trial.

U can hold left windows and control pc with it,so u are able to close it and stop it with it
if you use remote play you keyboard and mouse work is just the controlls are trash because you need to use your arrow keys to navigate in the menu
so I tried it out it definitely works does it work perfectly ehh Idk maybe it takes some getting used to but I was testing it on watch dogs their is definitely some input lag and also for some reason I try to customize the keys but it goes to default but that might be cause im trying the free trial but I'll try some more see what happens
Mmmm maybe because I'm used to playing on TVs that already have a much higher input lag than your regular monitor (20-40ms with Game Mode), I can barely feel any additional one caused by the set up. Tried both GoW games, HFW, Spiderman and few other games, same performance.
As for the key customization, make sure you save your setup and set it as your default. From that point reWASD should always start with your default setup - not sure if paid account is needed, but I'd be surprised if it was.
@@DPDanielPlays update ; I paid for the service unlocked the custom keys and I tried last of us worked much better even though I love watch dogs the controls in general even when I played on the TV were just off idk great game but yea Rewasd is definitely worth it :)
Has anyone tested this on a fighting game? I want to use a keyboard for MK1 but got the game on PS5 to be able to share with some friends. The author here says no delay, but even 2f of lag could be pretty disadvantageous
It definitely should work for the game. Now for the delay, I literally feel like the delay is more coming from my TVs input lag than a lag between the controls being captured by the Remote Play and reflected on the screen. But yeah it’s so close to playing on a PC that I really can’t tell the difference.
CAn you put the link for the xim apex adapter? I play on ps4 but I use mouse and keyboard on cod and fortnite but for some games it doesn't let me use my mouse and keyboard. Also because I use my headset since my controller is not wireless and both of y mice and keyboard are connected to both of my ps4 usb ports.

I have psrc and it's actually insanely good. No delay at all. Anyone interested in using this I'd encourage you yo try it. Must better than standard remote play
I think for competitive play you might be right, but honestly I don't feel like there is any delay using remote play, at least for these singleplayer games like Horizon and God of War. And if I ever wanna play competitive games, I'll just play them on PC full stop. But hey, to each they own :)
