- Destiny 2 has a TON of amazing hand cannons, and a new (well... returning) one was just added to the picture. Rose was formerly a 150rpm lightweight hand cannon but now has returned as 140rpm model, while retaining the lightweight frame benefit of the old lightweight hand cannons. It's definitely good, but how does it hold up against the best options like Austringer, Eyasluna and Fatebringer?

Despite me still loving Austringer and it's iron sights, I really like the feel of Rose and my roll while not great is pretty good with that high aim assist and great handling, definitely will grind to get a better one but I won't lie, Slideshot and Explosive Payload isn't as bad of a combo as I thought it'd be
I got a perpetual motion and rangefinder roll on my initial drop from shaxx, and it is now my favorite hand cannon. It feels incredibly sticky and when I'm warmed up I feel like I can't miss a headshot. love the lightweight archetype too, the bonus handling and reload speed is insane, and I also got a stability masterwork to balance out the low stability value. S tier hand cannon for sure.
Maybe the real best hand cannon is the friends we made along the way

My first impression was that the stability is pretty low (extra noticeable on controller). I agree with your observation for elemental capacitor on void, might be a really good pick for that column
nah ele capacitor sucks cheeks, any perk that makes the gun feel different just bc i felt like not playing void is not a good perk

I got a rapid hit explosive one on my first roll with 64 stability, and I still was caught off guard with how much recoil was there, even with 64 stab.
My first drop from Shax was Smallbore, Accurized, Slideshot, Rangefinder, Polygrip, with a range masterwork. I thought it was a curated roll everyone was getting because I thought there was no way I could get that good of a roll right off the bat. Guess I was just lucky for once. This thing feels insane.
iirc mine's accurized, slideshot, explosive payload and handling masterwork. I thought my role was horrible but apparently Patty says it's a god roll so I don't feel that sad now

After weeks of doing all 3 rose every week i finaly got my perfect godroll yesturday…. Smallbore/accurize rounds/ range masterwork / perpetual motion / explosive payload and smooth grip. Its fkin amazing!!!
I would love a small bore, accurized rounds, slideshot, explosive payload, smooth grip, and range MW.
Really looking forward to running the Exalted Truth with ideally small bore, accurized rounds, rangefinder, repulsor brace on void (Encore for other classes) and range MW.
On a void hunter with Gyrfalcon's hauberk you will get volatile rounds as you exit invisibility. Combine it with stylish executioner and vanishing step. Each kill with a repulsor brace weapon will make you invisible and give you a void overshield. Pair it with fragments echo of undermining, persistence, harvest, and starvation for a devour setup. You have 3 ways to weaken with smoke bomb, grenade, and stylish executioner melee. Weaken and precision final blow for am orb for devour. Harmonic siphon for more orbs. Demolitionist/wellspring Fortissimo with devour active will give you between ~32‐38% grenade energy back. Get devour going with weakened precision kills or double kills. Each kill with repulsor brace will give you an overshield and make you invisible.
Its not just the perks or stats. Its just the sights for me. It just feels right for me. I have these pet guns that people say are trash but to me its really the sights and how i feel when ads and take flinch. Have an absolute 10/10 multimach god roll but just dont like the sights and use my shit roll escape velocity instead with half the range but i do better with it because sights.
My first rose drop is hammer forge rifle, accurized rounds, slide shot and range find, poly grip and a range master work! I was blessed 🙌 all my good RNG went into that gun!
Currently love mine, best roll so far is Small bore, Tactical Mag, Perpetual Motion, Eye of the storm with Smooth grips and a ranged master.... thing rocks out loud.
I managed to pull one with extended barrel/full bore, flared magwell, rapid hit, rangefinder, with handling masterwork. been really good with the stability bump that rapid hit gives.
I have a whatever roll with smallbore/tacmag moving target opening shot and handling masterwork and it already feels so good. Can't wait till Tuesday to grind 3 more
if you add the mag size mod, it will make slide shot more effective. you get 3 bullets instead of 2
I'm super glad Rose is back, this hand cannon is near & dear to my heart cause it's the hand cannon that carried me to 2100 back when Recluse and mountaintop was available

Got a pretty decent roll for Rose; Corkscrew, Flared Magwell, Slideshot, Explosive Payload, and either Combat Grip or Textured Grip. Hoping to get a better one next reset.
Also, they should modify the Dire Promise to be a lightweight-adaptive hybrid just like Rose. I love that HC.
I snagged your ideal roll with the exception of having hammerforged instead of small bore and can confirm it has crazy range.
Good a pretty good roll yesterday. Hammer forged, accurized, moving target, eye of the storm, smooth grip. And stability masterwork. I'm still going for the perfect roll but this one is nice till that happens
I'm looking forward a slideshot or perpetual motion + explosive payload roll. A QD roll might be good to have for a blinting build too
I just got a Perpetual/Explosive roll today and it feels excellent. Bump the Range up with Full Bore and Accurized, Polymer Grip for a little extra handling and stability, and a Stability Masterwork. My first roll was a Slideshot/Opening Shot and this new one feels so much better.
Honestly, I was hoping they'd do this.
As in, bring lightweight frames back as a 140rpm with lower range / higher handling and the lightweight bonus.
Glad they did, and I really don't care if it's the best 140 or not, because I light the fast feel of it and have a great roll already. Plus, I don't personally mind the range loss that much.
I typically pvp as void. Either invis hunter or bubble titan.
I'm also on console.
So... elemental capacitor and explosive payload look like a REALLY nice combo for me.
Get smallbore, accurized, elemental and explosive with smooth grip and you are looking at a 140 hand cannon with 60 range (30.45m ads range), 77 stability and 65 handling. Put in a targetting adjuster and run a helm mod and it also now has 100 aim assist. All, as said, with explosive rounds.
That is a MONSTER in pvp.
And that isn't even with the masterwork. Range would put it at 31.64 meters while stability would put it as a 140 HC with 87 stability. I'd love to see either of those.
Looking forward to chasing this god roll. Good reason to grind out the pvp this season :)
My first one was rangefinder, slideshot and accurized. It has fluted barrel instead tho.
I just got one whit esplosive moving target tactical mag hammer forge and range master work its too easy too use love it

so the one roll i got was accurized, slide, range....barrel was corscrew or polygonal, and grips were heavy and textured, with a reload mastery
I got reasonably lucky and got moving target with explosive payload, the other options weren't ideal, but it's good enough for me to grind out a perfect one.
Rose has so many combos to roll, with EC and a void subclass you can get a sudo Fatebringer with explosive shot, I personally want a Rangefinder and perpetual motion rose to pair with a matador with perpetual motion and opening shot i like the synergy
Honestly on M and K I sometimes find hand cannons with really high stability harder to use. Idk if anyone else has this. Basically if I’m using a low stab hand cannon I’m correcting a little on every shot, whereas with a high stab I just need to hold it still. The problem arises when I get flinched. If I’m already ready to adjust, like on a low stab, then I’m already in the motion and just need to continue it a bit more. Whereas with a high stab I have to completely start, or not start, a motion depending on whether I am flinched or not.
I've got one with smallbore, accurized, perpetual, range finder, textured, and stability mw. 33.5m of range, 77 stability, 90 handling. Can't really ask for more
I am still on team Eyasluna 🔥 Fatebringer 😊 and Cantata for the said perks and flinch from Explosive and timed payload. Still don't have a god roll of Rose as yet.... Nice video Buddy! 📹

I've gotten 5 drops now and I am still looking for more range. My Eyasluna is amazing. Great range, stability, aim assist and handling. It will not be able to find a replacement.
There is no best hand cannon if you take a horrible Hand cannon and give it to a great player they will still destroy with it

That's a thing of the past, Nowadays even bots can get kills on you with pulses and sidearms.
Not to mention how bs melee is nowadays where you have titans and warlocks transverse tje universe to melee you to death..i.lost 2/7 placement games specifically because of people lunging across the screen when I'm finishing them off.
But not as well as with good hc. And will get slapped if somebody on his level is against him.

I got moving target opening shot and Quickdraw eye of the storm... really nice hand cannon just need a decent range roll with rangefinder or explosive and I'll be happy

As a controller player rose is literally perfect, using my void with elemental capacitor and a stability masterwork it just doesn't move at all absolutely zero recoil with explosive payload it's the greatest dueling wrapping

I love rose but eyesluna is soooo good. Its stability and range stats are massive compaired to the others, it also has the best sights imo.
I desperately want EP and Moving Target. It’s a combo I’ve wanted for a while and I believe this is first one that can.

I don't know what I did to RNG gods but thank you. My first one dropped with Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion, Explosive Payload, Smooth Grip with a Stability MW. Y new perfect and permanent HC!!
The one I got rolled with Elemental Capacitor and Vorpal, feels amazing with some basic mods and a solar warlock to challenge supers like Galical Quack (Yes I know), arc strider, or even tickle fingers
I want a pve roll rapid Hit + explosive payload because of the light weight frame
My first drop was one with fluted/steady rounds/ slideshot/opening shot and a range masterwork. Also got the recoil grip and I have to say it feels like im cheating.
I'll grind for a half decent roll at the very least but after trying every Hand Cannon I've been able to get. Nothing even comes close to my Timelost Fatebringer! It really is a Stats Monster & I got extremely lucky with my one & only roll (My seizures are not a fan of certain raid mechanics apparently!) I got mine with Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Thresh/Explosive Payload, EOTS/Firefly, Stability MW. I've got an Adept Range Mod on & it's fully Masterworked, the stats are mental! It's like 69 Range, 72 Stability, 72 Handling, High 40's/Low 50's reload. I also tend to find if you want an Austringer that works in PVE? It won't be all that great in PVP, same goes for Eyasluna. Timelost Fatebringer even if you don't get EOTS in that final slot for PVP, You'll still do well with the "Fatebringer Roll" Firefly is pretty good in 6's at the very least!
I have 3 perfect roll Timelost FateBringers. And it's so hard to find something that beats it.

For VOID hunter specifically > Fullbore / accurised / elemental capacitor / rangefinder / smoothgrip / range MW. Stats > 78 range (about 35.7m), 60 stability, 60 handling, 55 reload is EXACTLY THE ROLL im after ;)
EC is cool if you're ok with playing one subclass and one subclass only
if you change subclass every now and then, or worse...freqently, it's really really bad

Legit question as a pulse/scout main who occasionally uses Ace or Igneous…If I’m going to use a hand cannon ever, why not just Ace of Spades always. Is there an exotic in another slot that is so good, that I would give up Ace for it and just use a legendary in the kinetic? I guess when Ace exists why is there any consideration for other hand cannons at all?
There might be a specific kinetic slot weapon you want to run. But rose vs ace, it will boil down to personal feel and exotic pick. If you want to run another exotic, then rose is a given. Otherwise, you gotta like the lightweight frame and or the perks to justify it.
(Ace could also probably catch a slight nerf and be fine, but that's just my opinion)

I’m not looking at is which is better, it’s just different. Something like slideshot explosive payload just isn’t available on eyasluna or austringer
Honestly I don’t think you can beat out austringer, it’s literally perfect. But like you said this thing has a bunch of exclusive perks so it’s already worth going for. Where else are you going to find elemental capacitor on a hand cannon lol

@@gumball6445 I am not burned out :D i like pve, but only to get weapons and stuff and pvp was endgame for me. But that is in horrible state with sbmm. There is no reason to play with sbmm, leaving penalty and laggy lobbies in casual game mode. I switched to valorant and csgo, csgo especially is still best competitive fps which is awesome.

iono...I think 57 stability is kind of low. i think stability MW over range MW to get 60 range and 67 stability would be better. you lose 1.31 meter range. but you gain 10 more stability. at 67, with higher flinch resistance (pulse flinches like no other) and crossing that sweet 65 stability that lets your consecutive shots return to center is really nice.
Got hammer forged, acurized, ele cap, range finder, stab mw. It's the best feeling hand cannon I've shot. I have two God rolled eyas, also fully created austringer, and good Pali. Rose shits on all of em...
Literally only playing Destiny 2 for this handcannon and I got a 5/6 roll hahaha. Small bore, accurised, rapid hit, vorpal weapon, smooth grip and stability mw.

Idk how ppl use rangefinder, I hate that zoom increase.. crafted austringer with eots and opening shot is the king of all handcannons
The main appeal of this hc is the high handling, 100 recoil direction + 100 aim assist with good range that plus the lightweight frame makes this easily the best hand cannon in the game. You can get all that without even worrying about the trait perks this gun is insane.
