Well.... theres a director that calls the camera angles.... live..... The director is a person who probably knows the song. Second, actors, are trained for two things, find the light, and bank on the best shot. Third, there is also a gib camera operator, whose primary function is to "sell" the director shots. This gib operator also probably knew the song and raised his camera and extended the jib to over her head, to which she posed for, the director called the camera angle, and made for one of the best shots in studio production history. (You can bet the producer was singing their praises after the show) As a director you dont know what will happen live, nothing's rehearsed, you have to be able to both react and anticipate, based on what's going on in the studio. Including what your operators are doing, as well as what's going on onstage. As the director you are the hub that keeps the show going and looking good for the viewer.
I don't understand the conflict at 2:00 . Louis talks about napping. Jimmy asks if he likes it better than sleeping... and that's like, some really bizarre question? 🤔
There are extensive preinterviews and research done. They know what the guests listen to. The Tonight Show needs to be a place celebrities want to visit so they can't make them look to bad. Even if they don't know what the actual song is going to be they make it so there is a very good chance they are not completely blindsided with something they don't know.

2015 I never had a chance to attend the show but I use to work in the Rockefeller building at the Rainbow Room. During these times I had the opportunity to have a tour to the Jimmy Fallon and SNL studio. I will never forget these memories because it was nice to see celebrities and important people walking in and out of the building. They were rules we had to follow as well as employees, which was not taking photos etc.
The information about the expectations for being an audience member is probably very accurate, but the idea that the guests have no idea about what is going to happen is just completely unbelievable. Guests are so carefully woven into the entertainment of the show that there is no way their portion is not scripted and and often rehearsed as well.
I'm pretty sure this is for every tv-show. If there aren't signs, I'm sure there is an applaude guy that shows you when to applaude. At least, in Belgium, this is always the case with tv-shows... I don't think this is weird at all. It's just to make sure it is not just 10% of your audience clapping, which is awkward to listen to :).

We went to a different popular talk show. Not Fallon's. Made reservations, got there, given a short speech about clapping, restroom, etc., and show started 15 minutes later. During the show breaks, there was a comedian telling jokes and interacting with the out-of-town guests. Extremely nice.
I agree 100%. Matter of fact, I think the celebrities get to CHOOSE the songs they want AND they spend time prior to the show (weeks?) even practicing. No way are most of these celebs just going to "wing it" and hope they don't look stupid.

Louis talks about napping. Jimmy asks if he likes it better than sleeping... and that's like, some really bizarre question? 🤔
I didn’t think they were strict at all. Like yeah of course they’re gonna have rules like that, it just makes sense.
Always like your videos! So interesting that I can’t ever turn them off. Thank you
This all seems very fair lol that’s why the show is so successful and helps to ensure a safer environment! Love it!! Very smart!
Now I will never go to a taping as an audience member but when I’m famous that’s a different story
You'll never be on there
@@datboy3056 chill dude

@@thethings you're welcome
@@thethings can you please make a video about Marina and the Diamonds?
So, Emma Stone didn't know which song she was getting yet was perfectly coordinated with her look up and the camera switch? gtfo.
There are extensive preinterviews and research done. They know what the guests listen to. The Tonight Show needs to be a place celebrities want to visit so they can't make them look to bad. Even if they don't know what the actual song is going to be they make it so there is a very good chance they are not completely blindsided with something they don't know.
@@conniethesconnie Thanks for the reply, Connie. I get all of that. I'm aware all of these interviews are hyper prepared. My comment is regards to the video we're commenting on which stated Emma didn't know which songs were going to be involved in the lip sync battle. Even though she clearly did.
Connie Smith That’s pretty impressive that Emma Stone knew Hook.
Well.... theres a director that calls the camera angles....
(You can bet the producer was singing their praises after the show)
As a director you dont know what will happen live, nothing's rehearsed, you have to be able to both react and anticipate, based on what's going on in the studio. Including what your operators are doing, as well as what's going on onstage. As the director you are the hub that keeps the show going and looking good for the viewer.
It's showbiz
The aplause thing is pretty common, it's to avoid an akward situation or motivate the guest to make them feel more confortable
I prefer watching from the comfort of my own home, thank you.
I love how Jisoo is in the smart casual example
2015 I never had a chance to attend the show but I use to work in the Rockefeller building at the Rainbow Room. During these times I had the opportunity to have a tour to the Jimmy Fallon and SNL studio. I will never forget these memories because it was nice to see celebrities and important people walking in and out of the building. They were rules we had to follow as well as employees, which was not taking photos etc.
I think having strict rules makes sense to me.what a way to go Jimmy keep us laughing.
His laughs are fake and so is his audience haha
The information about the expectations for being an audience member is probably very accurate, but the idea that the guests have no idea about what is going to happen is just completely unbelievable. Guests are so carefully woven into the entertainment of the show that there is no way their portion is not scripted and and often rehearsed as well.
I think we can all admit that the one thing that shocked us all the most was the applause signs 😂😕🧐😒🤨🤔
Justin Bieber I thought u were Justin lmao
Leakingbieber same
I'm pretty sure this is for every tv-show. If there aren't signs, I'm sure there is an applaude guy that shows you when to applaude. At least, in Belgium, this is always the case with tv-shows... I don't think this is weird at all. It's just to make sure it is not just 10% of your audience clapping, which is awkward to listen to :).
I don't know if the clapping thing changed in the last couple of years, but Jimmy actually wanted to get rid of the applause sign at the beginning of the TS, so I really doubt that they are forcing the audience to clap for every little thing a guest says...Jimmy didn't get his way b/c producers wanted the signs for stuff like going/coming from commercial break, guests entering/exiting the stage, beginning/end of the show. I did hear though, from an audience member, that they do tell them to laugh out loud when they feel like laughing, if they can, don't restrain themselves, react, b/c they like the interaction and it makes for a good sound.
@@anileaatje think about this, how much more awkward is the show that sucks yet 'there's a deafening applause'. ratings? nooooo! we'll tell them when it's good
I got to attend in August 2018. Everything about this video related to the audience checks. Ryan Reynolds was the big guest!!
Fallon doesn't even wait to have the person answer his question most of the time....
Ellen’s rules are 20 times worse..
I guess I’m not going to be able to go to any of these types of shows.. I can’t stay that long without using the bathroom.
Why does it smell like pee in here???
rvpstudioscanada okay!
Adult diapers?
Oh, well. That hardly rates as a "life problem".
Reason to love British shows more. They don’t force you to laugh and clap to make people think things are funny.
Graham Norton is the best!!
Lauren Miller nobody cares

Most of the rules, I get, but the whole no potty breaks during a 3 freaking hours recording of toss'em out thing is too unforgivable to me.
If they want it to always look completely packed, they could just get voluntary seat-filters like they do at most awards shows.
There is an intermission every hour I've had a few friends score tickets they said half of this shit is false.

ive got IBS, you expect me to sit in one place for 30 min without pissing? ill do it all over the seat thank you.

Being strict tho on a talk show is esp a good thing bc people can be wild out there
I feel like they could've named this "Why we all love Jimmy Fallon" and it would've been more fitting and gotten more clicks instead of this really obvious attempt to make completely normal occurrences seem shady.
6:21 thank you for randomly putting jisoo of blackpink there lol
We went to a different popular talk show. Not Fallon's. Made reservations, got there, given a short speech about clapping, restroom, etc., and show started 15 minutes later. During the show breaks, there was a comedian telling jokes and interacting with the out-of-town guests. Extremely nice.
I'd break every rule just to see what happens

I don't believe for a single second that the lip sincs and the performances aren't planned. There is literally no way.
I agree 100%. Matter of fact, I think the celebrities get to CHOOSE the songs they want AND they spend time prior to the show (weeks?) even practicing. No way are most of these celebs just going to "wing it" and hope they don't look stupid.
Nicole: And then I was like, maybe he’s gay!

An "applause" sign? So "V- The Final Battle" has now basically come true.
Seriously?? They've had "applause" signs for studio audiences for DECADES. Nothing new at all. They're TAPING the program and don't want audience members applauding over dialogue of host and guests.
@@arx754 But do they also hold the audience at gunpoint while they hold up the applause sign? They do in V.
