and I’ll send you a post card from the trail!
Massive thank you to those already supporting me on the AT regardless of how- financially, following along, sharing, and commenting! 💗
10% of YT earnings this year will go back to trail orgs like the ATC, PCTC, and the CDTC 🌲🏔️✨ Thank you for your support and encouragement! Let’s get outside and into the mountains together 💞
That should be a movie "How Stella Got Her Jacket Back"! I kill me sometimes.
Challenges to the end! Chocolate seemed to help
Don't forget - you can lengthen your poles when "stepping stoning" across rivers so that you can remain more upright and balanced.
That was so thoughtful of the person to pick up and mail your jacket to you. A thank you to all those Trail Angels.
.
Stella it’s so nice to watch you and Leffie hike together and he definitely seems to bring out the best in you ❤ He seems like such a gentleman and genuinely cares about your safety. What’s the latest on Coyote? How far ahead of y’all is he?
Love that you have such a great partner to the end of your adventure!
LoVED the rustic cabin with bed and breakfast… and the way you left by powering the backpack on with one arm .. STELLA STRONG
Nice rock hopping..yay firewaterproof shoes!!
So glad you loved the chocolates!!❤. Loved watching the ferry. Glad Leffe’s Canoe Merit Badge came in handy!
I bet its great to see him on video.
got one of them too, shout-out to the boy scouts where a lot of us got our start in the great outdoors.
I laughed out loud when Leffe said "who we call Susan". You certainly have the right to be proud of that young man of yours!! Well done!
@@patrickcunniff5936 thank you so much!!
@@TheJhtlag I'm a big fan of the Boy Scouts. I have two Eagle Scout sons (including Leffe.) I knew he was well prepared for this high adventure! Glad he also has the First Aid Merit Badge!
Glad you got that $500 jacket back .. unless you got it on sale for $250 (lol)… I once left a brand new expensive camera on an airport barstool on my honeymoon. Never got the camera back and my marriage didn’t last.
I smiled all through that one; ferryman, the quick hitch and the return of the jacket! Hope Leffe was able to dry his socks and shoes. Enjoy!!!
Great. You are showing a fantastic side of hiking. If planned correctly, you can find what you need to replenish along the way. Your hike in this video reminds me of my youth. The forrest was an everyday thing in the summers. My family and I would spontaneously hike daily. Not the elevation you are experiencing, nor the distance, but it was still a nice outing. If you have a p.o. box, I would like to send you a miniature, like the size you use, "Rite In The Rain" notebook and pen. When it gets wet, you can continue to write and you don't lose your material. It's water proof. You will appreciate the concept. Stay safe. Thank goodness for Sue and chocolate snacks.
Chocolates on the trail. I like how they both did the water crossing differently and successfully. 🌻👣
Another milestone down for Stella & Leffe, great job!
The people of Maine have been so nice to you and your friend very nice to see in this world. Love💌
Go Stella go! 🥾🥾🩵🩵
Nice to hear there are still a lot of helpful people out there.
The main thing I took from hiking the AT was that most people, like high 90% range, are good. I went into the hike not having the best outlook on humanity but that outlook was challenged immediately. I couldn’t have made it even half way without the help of absolute strangers. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve ever learned.
Awesome job crossing that river!!!😊👍🎉🎉🎉
dude those whoopie pies FUEL the thru-hiker mind soul and body.
Playing Frogger on the AT at 12:00.
You got your jacket back! 😊 How nice of them to mail it to you. I watched the river crossing twice. You both did amazing. You had the physics nailed Stella. Slow, flat foot placement without momentum. Great trekking pole use as well. Very cool footage. You raised a fine young man Susan! Take care guys revel in your accomplishments. ✌️ P.S. You have a proper British accent Nyx 👏
Thank you so much! I'm so pleased that Leffe is hiking with Nyx - she is great!
Yes, she has a wonderful spirit. They're a great team.
Getting closer to the finish line…I hear more fire in your voice…can't wait for some beautiful Katahdin pictures-in-video 👩⛰🚶♀…
That creek crossing (over the rocks) was like a puzzle. Great navigation, both of you!
fun watching them take the time to figure it out.
The views of the trail was so beautiful and watching you two ride in the canoe was just cute. I wonder why they haven't built a bridge that all the hikers can just walk over. The water crossing that you two had to walk over was amazing. Glad that you two made it across with out getting wet. And at least the rain held off for a little while. 🙂🙂🙂
The Kennebec is pretty wide and the water levels fluctuate daily because of water releases up river from a dam. It’s likely cost prohibitive to build a bridge.
At this moment the ferry crossing is closed because of high water levels. Soooo much rain this month in Maine.
You must live in Kennebec. My favorite show comes from their. The Maine Cabin Masters 🙂🙂
Seems like a very successful day! Looks like those water proof shoes are still the ticket! 🌸🧡
Loved watching you guys crossing the river and the beautiful woods! You both have such great balance.
I must see Maine someday!!!! It’s so beautiful!!! I am enjoying these vlogs so so much!!! Thank you🥰🥰🥰
The one time one can appreciate rocks!
Too bad about the iffy weather, but better that than a bake-your-brains week, I suppose. Eat up - get fueled for that last section and the climb up Katahdin. Good that you got your jacket back. Be well, stay safe. Take care...
I know how attached we get to certain items we use on our treks. My husband found this out when he unknowingly threw my "special" hiking stick (pre trekking poles) in the bonfire at home! 😂
Glad you got your jacket back!
You guys are nearly there. I will miss that jazzy music with my coffee in the morning.
Great day! Thanks for taking us along. Your smile and laughter are infectious!!! As is your British accent. 😊
only the second time I recall, she broke it out way back on the trail.
U r approaching 2-MILLION viewz (??) SINCEREST CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 💖 great channel!!!
I finally understand why trekking poles are so helpful.
Stella, wow, great job crossing the stream!!!!
Pretty hiking in Maine, so glad you and Leffy hiked together. Nice to have a hiking partner.
So glad you got your jacket back. I still have and use my Patagonia Puffball jacket from my 98 hike so I know how easy it is to get attached to something like that 😀
🦋
I loved the British accent!!
Nice Stella ! Happy your still trailing backpacking/hiking.
It's getting close 😊.
that was a decent british accent to be fair haha Greetings from ENGLAND!
😅👋🏽
Wow Stella , you were great rocking hoping at the end of video

Were you doing stats in the beginning of her hike? I wanted to compare hers to Becca Little Skittle who on day 24 is a ways into Virginia.
In Skittles latest she is 1/4 way, according to sign, in 24 days. Amazing pace if so.
Sorry Stella, not meaning to diss your pace! I’ve been following you both since the PCT. And a couple others. I know you follow her too.
@@robinfinehout1160Stella knows “hike your own hike” by now. I’m sure she sees it and just as impressive as you.
@@robinfinehout1160Becca seems to be 7-9 days ahead of Stella and Nahamsha ‘s pace by Day 24… Becca had one 39 mile day which I thought was unbelievable
My wife and I stayed at the Sterling Inn (during my thru), when she came to visit me.
Kudos for making it over those river crossings.
Did you see the white blaze at the bottom of the canoe?
Wow, you were stellar (Stella?) at that river crossing! You both were.
Crossed that river like a bawse💪💪💪
It’s wild seeing people wear pants on the trail. Both times I hiked the AT I didn’t bring pants and neither did most people I saw. Just running shorts and merino wool long underwear if it got too cold. Only put those on to hike once when it was in the teens and windy. I’m built like a Neanderthal, though. A body made for cold weather. They look like they work well for both of you guys. Maybe I’ll try some at some point!
you've never seen people wear long pants on the trail???
Tick bites, chigger bites, mosquito bites, spider bites, bramble scrapes, scrapes against rocks . . . I get itchy just thinking about hiking through thick woods in shorts, lol. Long, lightweight, quick-drying pants for me.
😊😊😊
Straight male here- I am in love with Leffe 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Stella looked like a ninja picking her way through that water crossing. Any problems with poison ivy? The AT is pretty wide mostly so it shouldn't be a problem, but the trail narrowed significantly and it could be a problem. Great footage today!
I might try this hike if I take it easy at hotels and cabins everynight.
Are there not a rubber boot to wear in these streams.
Hi from Lexington ky my son Lives in Presque isle.
Love the accent
Relying on a canoe ferry for an AT crossing is an irony. Hikers hike thousands of miles in a basic self reliance mode of challenges, misery and successes. Then, nearly towards the end of this grueling hike, there is a reliance on one individual, who is only available a certain part of the day, to ferry hikers across the river. If a hiker is not willing to take an alternative option by getting a ride to the bridge, then the day is ruined if the hiker is late. To this, I must rate this crossing as a BOO! This is part of the BooHurrah theory that rates things bad or good. Happy you achieved this portion with success. Bravo for championing the water crossing by foot. Be well!
From an article about the Kennebec Ferry:
"Northbound hikers on the Appalachian Trail reach the Kennebec River at mile 2037.6 (as of 2015.) This is the widest unbridged water crossing on the trail, 70 yards wide, with a swift and powerful current. As a result of upstream damn releases, the depth and current of the river can surge quickly and unpredictably. One hiker is known to have died trying to cross the river by themselves and many others have had very close calls."
"Hikers arriving between May 22 and October 12 are provided with a free canoe ferry ride provided by the Maine Appalachian Trail Club."
"The ferry service and not fording is the officially sanctioned way to cross the Kennebec River on the Appalachian Trail."
@@maxinemead8918 Agree. Silly to ford the river. I was told by the caretaker of the canoe service to contact Sterling Inn. For those who don’t want to cross the river by canoe, Sterling Inn might shuttle hikers from the bridge. Thanks for the reply.
Girl you should hook up with Leffie!
The fordings were nicely done, huzzah! 🌲🏞️🌎 . . . almost ⛰️ there . . .
