Top marks to V/H/S/85 for being the absolute weirdest out of the whole franchise
Was it a VHS movie with the gun arm Meatball Machine thing? Was that 93? That takes the weird cake for me. This was weird as hell too though, so confused when they came back to life on the boat. I was like "vampires? No its sunny. Zombies? No she's messing her brain maybe". It was weird!
@@CarnageCounts Yeah. 94 and 99 can get REALLY weird as well. Like that one segment in 94 with the cyborg Frankenstein like killing machine is some serious Tetsuo The Iron Man/Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure level stuff right there

I actually liked the first segment, it made me laugh a lot knowing that they could've drove to the hospital. Seriously, the poor girl needs a new jaw lmfao 😭💀

To this day I wonder if these films are all supposed to be connected. It's crazy trying to imagine all these stories happening on the same Earth, but also not impossible.
You have a great point, but I think whatever how many VHS Movies there will be in the future, I hope they explain where they got them from. Maybe they happen on the same earth, but it would be wild to figure out that these tapes came from a different dimension.

My guess is that since The movies are anthology series the different tapes are in different universes but Each short film is linked together with the concept of found footage?
I kinda thought they'd start going into detail about the curse of the tapes and why and how they make people go crazy and cause crazy stuff to happen like they did in the original trilogy but I'm kinda fine with them also not doing that too

this movie scared the shit out of me with how sudden and real a lot of deaths in this one were. they did the gore super well, and a lot of the deaths are acted out extremely realistically.
Probably the weirdest V/H/S to date. The others I could follow but this took 100% of my brain power to focus on what was happening
I have such mixed feelings about this installation. A lot of scenes were done really well and gruesomely, but none of the stories ever feel like they went anywhere and the ones that did lacked payoff. Except possibly the connecting documentary, but that one only left me wanting more.
I watched this yesterday and had a blast. Idk which I prefer, this or ‘94. ‘99 was goofy fun. Nothing will beat VHS 2’s Safe Haven segment though!

I think that v/h/s viral, The skaters segment was kinda good
Fun Fact: In the segment, Dreamkill, Gunther mentions that Gwen (from The Black Phone) is his cousin, and also shares the same abilities as her. This means that the short segment is in-line with The Black Phone universe.
I am hoping to see Gunther in a spin-off or sequel, where he will help the police predict the murders via his dreams.
Another fun fact: Gunther was played by Scott Derrickson's son

@@abemcg3803 the original cast will return for Black Phone 2, but I'm hoping they have a different story in which Finn and Gwen are young detectives helping restless souls solve their untimely demise so they could find peace. Hopefully, their cousin, Gunther, will join them ^_^

My Ranking of V/H/S 85’s Segments
6. TKNOGD: The premise was a bit far fetched like what there’s a tech god in a VR headset. What rubs me the wrong way is the ending, if I saw a women get lifted off the ground, and have here flesh rip off of her body by an unseen force, I would get the fudge out, but instead they clap for some reason
5. God of Death: I liked the whole mega disaster theme, there’s not a lot of those in the VHS series. The ending was very interesting but I couldn’t understand because I watched a version of it without subtitles. All and all, it’s a nerve wrecking ride.
4. Total Copy: The glimpse of Rory growing up, the concern among the staff, the final form of Rory, and the ending. Seriously, the ending was comical.
3. Dream Kill: An interesting segment. It had a great premise, and a hooking on cop case. The twist was shocking and phenomenal. It was a dream.
1/2. No Wake & Ambrosia: One of the only tied in segments (NOT INCLUDING VHS VIRAL IT SUCKED), and it delivers. And the twist in No Wake caught me off guard. The reveal that those campers were shot by a murder family was amazing. Plus the ending of No Wake is perfectly capped of in Ambrosia, that family deserved it.
This sequel is better than 94 and 99, my favorite segments were all of them but the ones I liked the most were God of Death, TKNOGD and Total Copy, although it would have been better if they added Metallica's Seek and Destroy music at the end of the credits.
I wish Shudder and Bloody Disgusting made merchandise based on the V/H/S franchise saga.

I saw this yesterday-- again without subtitles I couldn't debate what the second entry was about, but I did do a bit of research; "Mexico City's 1985 Earthquake" Like how some writers/directors used elements to envision new partial bits of what could be the lead...
And the first entry; With the group of young adults going jet-skiing, and to a 'no trespassing' lake... I found it quite enjoyable, and I was like at first... "Is this a Friday the 13th one?" XD since it's by a lake, and young adult going out for a swim.
And to my sudden laughter;
*SPOILER*
When one of the adults that are resurrected by the unknown causes of the lake, makes a comment as they're somehow still alive after taking "Fatal" hits from sniper bullets. "This is some Pet Sematary Shit" XD when they're still alive, and yet have visible gashes on their bodies...
And one of the girl with the jaw fucking destroyed
The second entry is based on the transmission of a morning news show named "Hoy Mismo", that happened on Televisa Studios on Chapultepec during the earthquake of 1985. Part of the building collapse (as many others around the city) but the reporters didn't died. I haven't watch the movie yet, but that scene hit a little bit hard, specially after the eartquake of 2017 in the 32 anniversary of the one of 1985...

the second entry is about aztec mythology and the aztec god of death which is the creature we see… I think it’s basically suggesting that the god of death was responsible for the mexico 1985 earthquake since Mexico City started as the aztec city of tenochtitlan which the monster mentions.
@@motomutantThat seems a bit strange to me because, in itself, the god who is in charge of the earthquakes is tepeyóllotl, who is a huge jaguar man.
@reddragon8488 I guess it could also just be that the god of death appeared because of how many people died in the earthquake? It’s kind of confusing but that’s what I’m guessing even though it’s weird that he technically killed the crew considering in reality he’s not considered a good guy or a bad guy, its confusing 😭

Not gonna lie, I think this V/H/S mostly has a lot of gunshots than past V/H/S movies
Probably my favorite V/H/S anthology to date, although the Hell segment from 99 is some top-tier stuff.
It was pretty funny Ngl 😂 good mix of horror and humour. A good W for Mabel too

I literally just watched this movie earlier this morning, and I fuckin loved it. I've loved all these movies in this series for how crazy weird they are in their execution of the short stories.
I do like these kind of movies where it can be any kind of horror genre in one big movie
the first segment was a top notch for me.
the moment they wake up after getting shot is just confusing, but too bad the segment was too short.
i just love V/H/S series, among all of them The Bonestrom from V/HS Viral is one of my favorite.
i wish bonestorm was a bit longer and showed what was the enemy

There was something about this movie that missed that V/H/S touch. It might be the deaths, lack of monsters/jumpscares, the atmosphere, I'm not sure, but it didn't feel like a V/H/S movie. But I loved it
I don't understand these films from the V/H/S franchise. Like when someone watches the tapes they start to go crazy for no reason at all and I also don't understand how in these tapes that were recorded, people and even the authorities don't know about the existence of aliens, monsters, demons and zombies in the recordings
