I can pick up 6 of those mats normally with no thumb with a 350 g deere easily ,its easier than with a thumb I don't see any reason why I can't pick up 8 I just haven't tried more than 6 yet

With no thumb makes a big difference.. you can dig a bucket and deep wide hole or trench 7-8 ft long, stack 7-8 mats overtop the trench and then proceed to basically go under the mats and use the stick and top of bucket lugging to pick it up, and maybe the front tracks as a backstop.. But its all about how much balls you got but a 350 or 336 will only take 8 and thats running a huge risk of them mats coming to visit you in the cab.. a 349 can take 10-12 with this method of digging a trench but again it becomes a safety concern lol

But with a thumb your limit is like 4-5 depending on how many you want.. if the pathway is smooth like in the video, ill stack 8-10 crane/rig mats like in the video of them ontop of 2 swamp mats 12 inch timber mats and pull it like a sleigh, with 4-5 in my thumb lol but crossing swamps that maybe not frozen is sketchy or turning sharp corners the lifting chains tend to climb the tracks

no need to dig a hole ... I can pick up 12 easily with 470 on flat ground . 350 has a hard time lifting 8 wet ones. The other day I picked up 12 easily with a 352cat also all with cleanup pails.

rickyboyz100 they are starting to cut wages even though all the pipeline work around here is shale gas.not effected by oil prices but any excuse to not pay.

Thanks Barry. I'll stick it out doing sewer and water in Ont. until it hopefully picks back up out there.

@@rickyboyz100 old comments but pipeline money is still insane, pipeline jobs here are starting at 34/hr with 185 loa a day as a laborer. laborer's are clearing 12+gs a month lol
