This is a very strange way to do this. I know u can't dig off the back end like u should, but in most bore holes this is not a option dew to bad ground conditions and or deep ditch depending on the bore angel. u could creat a shit hole that will never slope right if u are near a river doing what u did hear.
I just sit over the pipe and scrape down it at the angle its on. Ill stay just a fuzz above it and swipe it off into my ditch before I move back exposing it.
You Native brother? I think I hear it in your voice. I Brantford 6 Nations Ontario Canada. (Mohawk) I'm taking a heavy machinery course. Im a lil nervous. One false move and it can be disastrous. How you like it though? How's the money once you've become established?
His company probably doesnt want to pay for one and they are not practical for pipeline use, for grading and small cuts sure they are great. On pipeline it would be worn to shit after 1000 hrs.
If u ever see a bugered bore like this again try digging 1 side out ( ditch side first ) all the way to depth, then come to work side and side dig from OB up to the main line. Sid digging is not optimal ether however this will let u move your dirt only once. also since u have only exposed ditch side of the pipe u can save virgin ground to work off on work side. This is a big advantage as offten u will be on mats or working in running sand. more likely for a pipe hit, but half the work.
