He's a scared rabbit at first, then a timid rabbit, then a mad rabbit, then a sleepy rabbit. He takes time out to make a rabbit eating video. Do rabbits like mirrors? My rabbits charged the mirror the first time and scared themselves 🤣
Pigpoke's like: "Who is that handsome devil? He sure eats fast!"
Sweet little Pigpoke looked a bit wary but was lead by the power of the bowl.
As he loves his greens, he came over to eat them following the moving bowl.
He is a very intelligent rabbit and although I am not sure he knows what a mirror is, he was not fazed.
Pigpoke recognized himself in the mirror and he liked what he saw.
If Pigpoke had thought the other rabbit was a threat, he would have tried to attack it, scratching the mirror or knocking it over.
He seemed pretty relaxed about seeing his reflection and I am sure he knew the handsome rabbit was him.
He looked good today!
I think I have seen the picture of Pigpoke painted by Strawberry at Watership Down, I found it by accidently entering Pigpoke's name to look up old Pigpoke videos, to see how far he has come. I also love looking at the Pipkin ones. Although sometimes they make me sad.
The painting looks very good and there is a close up of the brush stroke he/she used and they have put Pigpoke's name on it. I was hoping you would see it. I thought the eyes were really good. Now he has his own painting.

Young children do the same thing before they realize the mirror is reflecting themselves. Bunnies are like human toddlers in many ways!
Brutus would see his reflection in the mirror and think it was a different rabbit he would then hop around just like Pigpoke did. That always made me laugh.

I love how he very subtly eats the cilantro quickly before the "other bunny" gets it, and you can see him dart forward and get pieces and nom them up, not staying where the pile is, very quietly making sure he gets the goodies away before that intruder gets any, yet he acts so cool and calm as he checks the bowl and hops off! "I knew I could get the treats!" 💚🐇😁 Very brave buddy! Very brave!

@@OneMorePlease Aww. You guys.❤. They are doing well. Still trying to figure out how they like to play. Seems like nothing I do to engage them to play works. They look at me like I am crazy or run away. Its a totally different experience than adopting at 6-8 weeks old though like my previous babies. And watching Pigpoke makes me feel like it might be the same for you. You think after having them as friends for so long that you know everything. (Mine were about 10 when they left). Well I definetly don't, these girls have shown me. Totally different personalities than my other pair for one. It also makes me wonder what they went through before I adopted. My dutch, Dutchess, is still defensive and grunts at me when I reach to pet her or pick her up and its going on 2 years with me and she was about 1 when I adopted. I think the early part of their life development is more important than we humans understand. Anyway, I could go on. Thank you for asking. I never miss your vids always something fun to see. How sweet. I had a Dutch with a slightly lighter brown than yours. His name was Pericles. When I took him to the veterinarian where I bought him to have him checked out, the doctor told me: “one hour a day, free him from the cage so he can move and exercise”. ¨Which cage¨ I asked him back? he's not a hostage, he's free and he can leave whenever he wants... He stayed eight years with me.

It seems he was more curious about the mirror and not really that phased my the reflection. As if he didn't fully think it was another rabbit. He really didn't react in the way you'd think if he truly thought it was another one. I don't know. Just my thought based on my observation. 🤔🤔🤔
My bunny used to could a trick if she saw her reflection: if you started to stroke her back at a steady pace while she watched the reflection, she eventually would start mimicking the action by moving her front paw in sync with your hand - it was so cute.

My bunnies are not fazed by a mirror, pay no attention at all. But they can react to my TV.
One time a movie was starting, a MGM movie with the roaring lion in the logo. That roaring lion freaked Miss Bunny, she was genuinely frightened.
One of our bunnies broke one of its two front teeth today. It was pulling at the mesh of its cage. It looks like the tooth broke off but the root is intact. Hope it will grow back the tooth.

This was such a cute experiment you did with Pigpoke. I love how startled he is at first when he sees his own reflection and then becomes cautious when eating cause he probably thinks that his “twin” in the mirror is going to steal his food. XD. When my cousin’s Shih Tzu named Molly was a puppy she saw her own reflection in a mirror for the first time and barked at her own reflection thinking it was another puppy. XD.
