I bought a new replacement PCV kit. Although it comes with a new cover, I don't want to break my original cover. It is on very tight and reluctant to apply too much force to pry it off. Thanks for the excellent video.
TLDR... You will need a replacement cover if you take the old one off. So I took the old cover off to inspect the valve diaphragm. The tabs on the cover broke. In my opinion, there is no way to remove the cover without breaking the tabs as there is no way to get a tool down under the cover to reach them. This is especially true if it is the original cover as the plastic tabs will be brittle due to dry rot from exposure to heat from the engine.

My pcv on my Peugeot 308 1.5 bluehdi is different. My spring is longer when I take cap of and my membrane always sitting in the cap so this is blocking hole I would think 🤷🏼♂️. I am getting rough idle vibration. Excessive pressure which is leaking oil from engine gaskets. And I get a whistle noise at a certain rpm when I drive and also when I am idle and rev to certain rpm the whistle is there. Any help I will be most appreciated
I have an n16 but last pcv cover was Fixxed or glued.....AND.mechanics say WHOLE cover most be replaced...such a nightmare to inspect.....AND replace......bad componetry designs in an exacting emission computer controlled MINI.....generally designed at CORE well...but all the attached componetry is a .NIGHTMARE....I....DREAM an WISH all UPDATED componetry espescially the plastics with thermo proven covers.solenoids with filtration filters.....THEY coulda ACED thee.......DESIGN with ELITE proven componetry to....ferry out or rule out......worn or failed reliable components.
Umm ok thank you ! I felt a miss ! Ugg I’m going shopping this cake ha lol AutoZone totally screwed up a battery needless to say I about shit! 1 million times are you sure you know what ur Doing!
@@gompro4943 Could this PCV be the cause of excesive oil consumption? Mine is a r56 Mini One, similar engine as Cooper, but 1.4, 95CV. Thank you for your videos!
@@urkolabat9635 How severe is your oil consumption in your mini? The loose PCV valve can consume more oil but I think small oil consumption is quite normal. Have you changed the engine oil? Old engine oil will increase the chance of consumption. In my case, I change the oil every 5000 miles and I don't add up any oil. I don't think this car can last 15k miles for each oil change as advertised. lol. Mine is non-S with 140k miles on it. Hope this helped!
Hi, so if you block the hole, it will pressurize your engine so, at the end, it will leak somewhere such as seal. Definitely, you should NOT block the PCV. PCV (the correct valve) will open whenever pressurized.
Thank you for investing the time to make this video!
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks Dan, maybe it is better to get one with the cover. :)
Just order one with the identical cover 😅

Is this the N16 engine?
This is N12 since it is non-turbo charged.
can i use cap to blocking pcv hole? any effect to engine or turbo?
