  • MY dog Goose and I are out for another winter adventure in Newfoundland! This was supposed to be a multi day trip where I would travel around to some different ponds to fish for brook trout through the ice. However, after Goose suffers a minor injury to his paw on day 1, I'm forced to call the trip off on day 2 and head back so Goose can rest and heal up!

You made the right choice for Goose. He would likely have fine for the next few days but why risk it. People with a solid attachment to their dog will understand. Great day out and in the books. See you on the next one.

Although I love watching overnight camp in frigid weather, because it reminds me of my simple yet adventurous youth. But thing is I'm 100% tropical Asians, I can tolerate heat and humidity while performing task and not die. But this, this would kill me, a lot of preparation to keep use heat. While tropical is do everything to remove heat. But that quietness with a bit of wind makes me feel very serene, when you get educated to a point you realize that you are literally a speck of dust living on a grain of sand on a perpetual infinite sand dune and that sand dune never ends (human on a planet in a solar system, billion trillion stars in a galaxy, and galaxies are as bountiful as the stars themselves). Moments like these brings you back and gives you comfort of existence.

Not sure if this helps but would be a good addition to your pet first aid kit. Pet styptic powder to stop bleeding in dogs nails. I always have it on hand when I cut my Lab's nails in case I cut one to short. Stops bleeding really quick. Lots of blood vessels in dogs nails. May not of helped in this situation but good stuff. Glad he is ok!

Thanks! That’s very good to know. I haven’t heard of that before, but I will definitely add that to my kit! Sounds like it may have fixed the issue with his paw! 👍

I woud've liked to see you getting Goose's foot squared away, cleaned and well bandaged and protected from the ice. The pet store's got booties for paw protection. I know dogs usually don't like them but his paws won't get hurt. 👍

corn starch works great to stop bleeding on paws. That's what a lot of groomers use if they cut a dog's nails too short.

We all enjoy watching your videos but in cases like this when you are unsure of what to do, it always best to side with safety. I’m happy to hear that Goose is fine and have healed well. Besides, that just means we are likely to get the continuation of this video in the near future. Take care my friend.

Look like a great trip and I’m happy to hear that goose is doing good.
Look like you need a spark arrester on your chimney. I’m sure you can make one yourself.
    Thanks for sharing

Thanks for watching! I am planning to use a 45 degree elbow on the stove pipe moving forward. That should eliminate the possibility of embers landing on the tent!
