Kitty Flanagan!! Try some videos from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival where there will a series of short routines from multiple comedians 😄
Carl Barron is hilarious especially live. I'm with Cody, Peter Kay is so funny. Fun fact:' Paul Hogan was a painter on the Sydney Harbour Bridge before he became a comedian/actor. We watched the Paul Hogan show every week, never missed one
It's called 'the front fell off' by Clark and Dawe... best bit of comedy to come out of Australia/NZ! We had a tragedy where an oil ship broke up at sea and caused terrible damage to our environment... but this duo SOMEHOW made us laugh about it while pointing blame at the worldwide company that committed this atrocity. Serious yet piss funny at the same time, it's a MUST view seriously, you will love it! :)
Jenny Tian is a funny chinese/austalian comedian, she came to Australia when she was 3 years old and has a broad Aussie accent with a Chinese face. She does a lot of UA-cam shorts.
If you like Bo Burnham, you might like Tim Minchin. Bo Burnham has credited Tim as his inspiration. Dark side (Awesome Version); Rock ‘n’ Roll Nerd; Prejudice; Lullaby; White Wine in the Sun; Thank You God … etc. etc. The Tim Minchin rabbit hole is well worth diving into. A musical and comedic genius. I also love Kitty Flanagan - she’s very dry and hilarious! Even if I’ve already seen her set, I can still cry laughing watching it again😂. All the British comedians you mentioned are very popular here too, plus many more. One of my favourite Brit comedians (and all-round nice guy) is Russell Howard. ❤
Carl Barron is good for relatable observational humour. Paul Hogan was the stereotypical 70-80 Aussie icon he also used to paint the Sydney Harbour bridge before he became famous.
check out some of the old fast forward or full frontal skit shows. Eric bana as Poida was hilarious and Shaun Micallef as Milo Kerrigan used to have me in stitches as a kid
Your not taking the bloody Kingswood, I’ve just ironed the mud flaps & glad wrapped the number plates.. And leave the money on the fridge ya wog.. Great era of Aussie tv before all this nonsense we have these days
I love the one on Paul Hogen show where this woman is riding her bike wearing skimpy shorts and every guy was looking at her . One guy rode his bike while watching this woman and accidentally rode into a restaurant , another guy over turned his car while looking at that women riding a bike and there were other incidences that occurred too ! The man who played Strop was really funny . Carl is excellent and Dane Edna was well known in the UK . Thank you for this reaction .
That was a great parody of the Pushbike Song. I like the scene where 1 of the 2 workmen with pickaxes was distracted by the woman wearing hotpants and the pickaxe comes up with the other workman's helmet with a hole in it. He then proceeds to fill the hole in asap, realising it's now a crime scene. Dark humour at its finest. Still available on UA-cam.

Many older brits on UA-cam talk about watching the Paul Hogan show on british television in the early 80s. I remember watching the Paul Hogan show on televison in the early 80s when I was a little kid, but until I read the comments on UA-cam I didn't know the Paul Hogan show was being shown on british television at the same time.
Carl Barron is my all time fav aussie comedian, best story teller you'll find... for American comedians check out Matt Rife, best crowd work, hilarious
Thanks for this reaction, I just subscribed. I like Carl as a stand up, one of my favourites. Best worldwide for me, even though he developed it later, it's definitely Ricky Gervais. Paul Hogan, family favourite. In regard to Barry, and asking which one did we miss (and fair enough), well there is no definitive answer/s for that. Dame Edna alone, the character had continued and evolved from the 1950s to very recent times in many shapes and forms... or formats. BTW, I encourage you to look up Norman Gunston. He and I are like that🤞
Barry Humphries was a genius. He took over the Graham Norton show on numerous occasions. Carl Baron was good.. Paul hogan had better moments. He had his own show. Bloody hot today 37c and tomorrow. Almost makes you want to be a pom.
My favourite comedians are James Acaster on Would I Lie to You and Mock the Week, Lee Mack on Not Going Out and Would I Lie to You and Sarah Millican on any of her stand up shows. Best Aussie comedians might include Randy Feltface (Randy Writes a Novel), Adam Hills (Happyism) and Tim Minchin and if you are my age maybe Andrew Denton, Doug Anthony Allstars and Umbilical Brothers. Best American comedians include Gabriel Iglesias.

I think the Paul Hogan one was a bit over the head with local celebrities he was parodying. Burt Newton (aka Moonface) was a day time host of talent shows, variety shows, he was a comic and could sing. He was the face of Australian TV from it's very early days in the 50s until mid-2000s. So, even in the 70s, when the Paul Hogan Show was on, he was well known. The gardening skit PH was parodying a gardening expert, Alan Seale who was famous for his whistling S's. I remember seeing his promotions on TV for various bug sprays when I was but a wee lad. But, Paul Hogan, being from the 70s was very similar to Benny Hill and the bawdy style humour too, with a definite Aussie twist. Some of his most famous characters were Leo W@nker, Arthur Dunger, Percy the Wino, Super Dag, Nigel Lovelace. Give Carl Barron another go, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
