    Bought my 2007 Broward county fire rescue Crown Vic in 2020 for $4500. Had 81522 miles, around 450 idle hours. Mr. Random Reviews said cars like that are a unicorn. That price might have been high back then but I had a mechanic check it out and he said everything was cool on it. Before that I had a 1990 GMC Sierra. Had it for over 20 years. So this crown Vic might be my last car I ever own. Hopefully. Though I'd give anything to have another 1970s Trans Am.

    Found one for about $1,500 that I planned on flipping. A 2011 LX. Wife ended up liking it. Needed plugs, coils, O2 sensers, belt tensioner, alternator, headlamp bulbs, key fob, washer pump, wiper arm adjustment, and rad fan module (replaced entire unit). Still needs trans fluid changed, rear suspension sags a bit, complete AC (comp is shot), windshield has long crack, clearcoat is peeling, possible mounts as there is a slight clunk when flooring it, complete brake job, seat switch as it only moves back, door lock cables and/or readjustment, battery tray and hold down, wiper arms (seem worn out at the threads and arms are not bent correctly), and possible cat replacement.

    Bought a 07 crown Vic police interceptor from Georgia state police. It was fully equipped lights, siren and scanner. Of course I took all that stuff off. It was close to 400 pounds had 91,000 miles. And cost 8,200 , had to put a fan assembly , spark, plugs, coils, K in an air filter, serpentine belt transmission, cooling lines and tires , all came out to almost 18,000 dollars. But I love it

    I’ve been to wild rose motors. Very nice family that runs it. their cvpi are dealership quality. They paint the underbody’s too.

    For a mostly clean northern vic close to 100k miles its like $5,500. Southern rust free around 100k is like 6.5-8 thousand. Depends on year and idle hours. Mine is mostly clean but drivers side fender and rocker panels are rusting out. Thing drives really nice and I love it, but I'm really upset I didn't get a southern one with no rust cause every body shop wants like 10 thousand to repaint it/correct the rust.

    I picked mine up for 3k. I did not even haggle. It's been my daily and all I did was some fluid changes and a fuel pressure sensor. Feel I got lucky.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have a 07 GM GS with just over 100 K. Second owner. Bought it as a one owner with 43 K in 2018 for 6500 K. I've had to do some mechanical and paint correction, but otherwise, it's all original and clean. I see mint examples of TC and GMs with very low miles going in the high teens to lower 20s. I would guess mine could get 6000 or so depending on the buyer if I were ever interested in selling it.. I'm seeing fewer and fewer of them on the road. Imagine in another five years. You'll rarely see them at all.

      @@JO-ku1uc Absolutely. It’s a sad reality a lot of people don’t think exists. It’s almost like there’s this view there are still “millions” left when there never was to start with. There’s been more totaled than I know about, and that’s taken those numbers way down.

      Unfortunately, we will most likely not see the likes of the Panther platform again due to EPA issues and changing tastes, although I'm wondering if Ford could use their F-150 frames and create something similar again as that's what the Panthers were essentially: sedans built on a full frame truck chassis. You never know. In the meantime, we have to enjoy them while they're still available.

    I just scored a 2007 P71 for 3K it needs a ABS module, thats it. I have a 2005 parts car so there is my ABS module. Best part is they are Florida cars. So it's as close to mint as 3K will get you.

    Saw a civilian Vic, red base model, when driving with my pops. Looked it up later and the price was $14k. 70k miles. He never believed me when I said these cars are shooting up in value, but he sure does now. You gotta look for the grandpa deals on used Mercurys. Only way to get into a decent panther for $2-3k. I keep telling him to sell his EV and find a nice V8 couch to retire in.

    I'd like to share a recent experience in relation to how value is interpreted differently. I was looking at an Avalon the other day with low miles, and what I thought was a terrific deal to replace my 07 GM I talked about very recently in another response. The GM has been very reliable and drives well, but I had the bug to get something different, until I made the regretable decision to have the dealer apprsise my GM as a trade in. I really shouldve known better, but anyway boy did they low ball me!! My mouth dropped. I get that it is older car but its well maintained with no accidents or rust. No rips and tears or stains on the seats. They looked at it as some junker, although I imagine they wouldve come to rheir senses and not wholesale it, but sell it on the lot as it is really in decent shspe. I gladly walked away and grateful I did. The Avalon, despite how some have described it as a Japanese Cadillac or Lincoln, does not ride like a full size car. Im holding on to my GM for now.

    Second hand Vic pricing is insane too. I went and looked at a few and they were either rusted out or needed time intensive maintenance.
    For 4-5k I'd choose a Lexus Ls400 over a Crown Vic every single day of the week. Still a rwd v8, ultra reliable and a much, much, much nicer interior.

    Would you say it’s same for Lincoln town car or grand marquis. Does the P71 have more value then the cars mentioned above.?? Hmm I dunno

    • @CarolinaCrown98
      @CarolinaCrown98  25 днів тому +1

      @@Mrnormalsense I do! Truly I believe they’re the top of the line. There is a significance of the last full size American police sedan. It’s beyond iconic. I would definitely pay more for the interceptor than any civilian variation. When you look at people say like Mike Kennis and his collection, it’s solely P71/P7B.

    One thing people need to understand is that reliable vehicles are becoming fewer and further between. Even reliable giants like Toyota have been marred by recalls on new cars. So it drives up the value of these more reliable older cars, too, because I think people are turning towards the used market more these days versus new.
