    Fantastic driving man!
    You seemed to have a lot of fun, yet you didn't destroy your beautiful car by trying to over do it.
    GREAT catch at 5:50 ! i thought it was gonna snap the other way... had goose bumps! great

    Nicely done. You definitely push that thing. I hate it when a company takes the fun out of a car with electronics that get in the way.

    Wow, I had a similar experience, spot on summary!! I had a 2004 GTO, and while on paper it's no faster than a G37 coupe, in real world driving the immense torque of the small block chevy far outclasses the Infiniti. The chassis of the GTO was very squishy, and the brakes sucked, though from what I understand upgrades from down under are available. Also, I couldn't get passed the lack of a dead pedal in the GTO. It made day to day driving very uncomfortable.

    he wasnt having lots of understeer.. no need to power slide if the front has good grip.
    Actually, in a G37, if you flick the car intp the corner the back will come around quite rapidly. So from what I saw, his driving was brilliant!

    lol, yeah, but i love it, like riding an edge. but in the tight S, you can use it nicely, no danger, just be tight on the wheel and flick it through the S, while gaining speed. no traction control or assist on. plus too if you master the tail of that car, its good because on landings you have to be very tight on the wheel. :)

    Yes, I traded the GTO in on the G37. The G37 far outclasses the GTO in handling, steering, and braking. It's a much more balanced car, the body motions are better controlled, and the chassis is much much stiffer.
    That said, the GTO is quite a bit faster, the softer suspension gives it a much better highway ride, and I find the noise of the V8 to be better than the V6, though both are great sounding cars.
    Overall I prefer the GTO, it didn't drive as well, but it had way more character.

    Yep, fairly common among those who track their G37s. Apparently it's an oil temp issue.

    Oil issues? I ran my super hard at Streets Of Willow in southern california and never had a heat issue. The oil temperature never hit the half way mark. Hmm?

    Just get an aftermarket oil cooler, that should keep the car from going into limp mode because it thinks it's going to overheat.

    A GTO isn't as fast as a G37 lol... Um, you're right, it's not as fast as a G37, it's much faster than a G37 lol. The more common LS2 GTO ran 13.3 @ 108 and the G37 Coupe ran 13.9 @ 103
    They weigh the same and the GTO has 400 HP / 400 LBFT vs the G37's 330 HP / 270 TQ. Big difference.
    Even the one year produced, 350 HP LS1 GTO ran 13.7 @ 104
    The G37 Coupe is no slouch or anything, but comparing it to a GTO that weighs the same and has an LS series V8 is just idiotic... Especially if you were talking about the LS2 GTO.
    Your fastest non Nismo 3.7 is the 332 HP 370Z... 370Z 6MT 0-130 mph= 22.0 seconds... LS2 GTO 6 speed 0-130 mph= 19.6 seconds. Do you know how far getting to 130 mph 2.4 seconds quicker is? It's an ass kicking, let me tell you.
