Pretty excited about this grip. I’ve used the cabled one and the articulated neck always has some mad play that ruins your footage. I hope they have addressed that in this version. Def buying it if that’s the case

I like the smaller version that I got with my RX. Works well, but I rarely use it. For people that do walk and talks it would be nice if a stabilized gimbal was too much $/weight.

I have a Sony a7riii. I use mainly for landscape photos. I am shooting more UA-cam videos for training purposes. But when I download the video with Lightroom, the file is huge. A 5 min is 2gigs. Will a6400 have a smaller file created or am I doing something wrong. Also, what mic setup do you have.
I think is not necessary to spend a lot for a tripod. I prefer Manfrotto than Sony $140.00 so expensive for me . Thank u Jason for good videos always.

Looks like a great compromise between a mini tripod and a gimbal. But I think a gimbal would be best for shooting video especially with no in-body stabilization on the A6400.

Just the kit-lens 16-50... It's compact with good quality for videos and photos, save the money and spend then for lights

Hey Jason great video. I have a question about audio... I have an issue since the microphone is directional and only points 1 way. A lot of times I turn my camera around 180° to show viewers what's going on and I'm continuing to talk. But the audio is very low & bad because the mic is no longer pointing towards my mouth. How do I fix this issue? Have 2 mic's?

Other than that massive mic, this is dope. Rode wireless go I think is a little more streamlined.
Rode Wireless Go has issues with most lav mics (not shielded).
uglypoe hmm, using the rode lav I’ve got around 120-130 hours of recording time with no issues. On 2 different sets of wireless go tx/rx 🤷🏻♂️

Nice but pricey. I've gone the much cheaper route of using a Zeadio HB-23 4.5 inch MiniPro metal tripod/handle (44 lb max weight) for $15 and one of those cheap, small IR hand units ($10) to trigger the camera. You can put a small ball head mount on the mini tripod if necessary. Some of the latest IR trigger units now can start and stop video recordings along with snapping pics.
Considering prices of battery grips, I thought this one isn't too expensive. Especially considering many things can be done wirelessly.

It will but you may be more interested in the smaller version of this one that they make and bundle with the rx100. Thats how I got mine when I bought my rx100 VA

I know the version you're talking about but don't own it. I don't really do any vlogging...but it seems like it could come in handy for some other reasons. Johnson City is where we drove for just about all our city needs.
