Great sound and video for an amateur recording, but very disappointed by the unnecessarily large and distracting logo right across the middle of the screen.
Did anybody catch the reference to Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz"? It's when Lars asks "are you ready Steve, un-huh". It's from their promo video in the 70's.
+steve francis yeah he improvises all his gigs and changes drum fills and is kinda sloppy but he can follow James well he's definitely good at that, he's not the greatest drummer in the world obviously but him following James rhythm guitar is perfect
+steve francis your welcome, are you a drummer, ive been playing since i was 9... I like Lars's new purple sparkle Tama kit for the new tour it's nice!
Let's just appreciate the originality and greatness of this band for what it is, just great metal music thanks for 30 years Metallica and thanks Lars for putting that add out way back when and putting this great band together and hey we also got Megadeth so let's be thankful 😊
You do realize this was written in the early 80s, came out on the 1984 Ride the Lightening album, and was meant to be an instrumental? So, it doesn't really show anything in a "change" in Metallica. This song has always been powerful, and was only their second album.
This version is better than their S&M version... that distorted/wah bass makes it! Rob is the best thing that has happened to Metallica! Way better than Jason ever was!
The Extinct Surgeon that being said, why is it that the best compliment most people say about Metallica's ex- bass player... was that he had a great voice!? No one ever says he was a great bass player... that should say something as to their need to get a new bass player!
The Extinct Surgeon I'm sorry.. but I play bass... Cliff impressed me... Robert impressed me... Jason NEVER impressed me! But that is just my opinion. Again, no one (besides you) ever say they miss his bass playing.. they all say they miss his singing... and that should be a clue as to how good a bass player he was... or wasn't.
@Doodgraver It was just a joke. It had to do with the good old days, where James once punched Lars in the stomach for changing the setlist without telling James.
That's his style thrashy, sloppy, improvisational metal drumming done as only he can, that's what I love about Lars his less than prefect qualities makes him more interesting as a drummer, when he wales on that china and the double bass with James riffing on that with him, that sound is the definition of Metallica, china crash .. more like china thrash its what makes them the best at it!
Nobody could replicate Lars's drumming if he left the band, cause he is the only fit, if a new guy came in and played the songs perfect that would be boring and everyone would say I miss Lars's sloppy drumming, he is the only fit for James Hetfield's riffs and Kirk and Rob he is Metallica.
Great sound and video for an amateur recording, but very disappointed by the unnecessarily large and distracting logo right across the middle of the screen.
Everybody want his top post!
I know I’m 6 years late, but he just lined up the official soundboard audio with his recording. That’s how it sound good.
Robert "Burton" Trujillo.
Holy shit.. That bass...
Rob move this song to another level. Good job guys
He actually played the original parts, he doesn't take it to another level, he just does it justice.
Listen to cliff bro
It has been [ 0 ] measures without Lars doing a fill
well, they are playing at the FILL-more
@@kisu_odd underrated comment. needs more likes. solid 11/10
I love this song. I want every version of it😂 RIP Cliff. I hate I discovered this so late in life.
The 1984 Lyceum Theater version is my favorite. I'm trying to find versions that include the intro.
Rob would make Cliff proud
Robs a animal on bass
No he's just an animal
@@punman5392 lol
Damn. You can see on their faces that they are remembering playing this song with Cliff :(
Did anybody catch the reference to Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz"? It's when Lars asks "are you ready Steve, un-huh". It's from their promo video in the 70's.
Cliff is proud Rob!!!!!
YES
I like that Lars improvises and just plays his heart out on the drums it keeps it interesting and they still rock after all these years
He improvises ?what at all his gigs....?
looks like the answer is in the
comments below...!
+steve francis yeah he improvises all his gigs and changes drum fills and is kinda sloppy but he can follow James well he's definitely good at that, he's not the greatest drummer in the world obviously but him following James rhythm guitar is perfect
thanx mate

Awesome work and PERFECT sound quality FM00!!!!!!!!!! Half way around the globe, enjoying what you lucky bastards witnessed..... \m/
I love Lars explaining he's eating banana because of the drumming
JoolsGuitar potassium is good for the physical activity
Yeaah! I guessed! For muscular rendering.
Potassium is good at preventing cramps
Wow, they're actually playing this in time with each other!!! it sounds awesome!
is amazing how powerful bass sound that gives us robert trujillo.
They should have made this entire show onto like a 4 disc blu ray.
Nailed that solo..Ktulu gave him the power
Now everytime I listen to this song I hear the orchestra LOL \m/🤘💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
James does the outro without a pick and kinda looks like how Cliff plays. Love it.
Ohhh that bass sound is to die for :')

this is epic !!!!!! 30 years worth of metallica been there love all of it !
This version is better than their S&M version... that distorted/wah bass makes it! Rob is the best thing that has happened to Metallica! Way better than Jason ever was!
C. Alan Robinson Jason was really good though, his attitude was the best out of any big 4 member and his voice...jesus christ his voice was good.
The Extinct Surgeon that being said, why is it that the best compliment most people say about Metallica's ex- bass player... was that he had a great voice!? No one ever says he was a great bass player... that should say something as to their need to get a new bass player!
C. Alan Robinson I said he was, his technical skill was insane, he wrote the main riff to blackened which was originally even more technical
The Extinct Surgeon I'm sorry.. but I play bass... Cliff impressed me... Robert impressed me... Jason NEVER impressed me! But that is just my opinion. Again, no one (besides you) ever say they miss his bass playing.. they all say they miss his singing... and that should be a clue as to how good a bass player he was... or wasn't.
C. Alan Robinson Dude...Jason was good.
Thank you FotherMucker00 I like this version even more than the one recorded at studio... Awsome!
I love how creative they are! I'll always be a fan! I love Lars's drumming!
Jeremy Hill we're two, pal!!!
Please seek therapy.
Lars add a lot of cool fills and in my opinion some of them fits perfectly
i think that just ereasing the watermark would make this the most visited video on youtube.
@Doodgraver It was just a joke. It had to do with the good old days, where James once punched Lars in the stomach for changing the setlist without telling James.
THIS SONG GIVES ME CHILLS EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT. SO AMAZING AND SO EPIC
Props to the dude filming back stage for holding his shit, I sure couldnt have
rob es demasiado monstruo!!
The thing i love about Robert is he plays the shit the way it is on the album, which is what kirk should do more. He ruins a lot of solos nowadays

When You Get They Number Lars Nothingggg
J aime. I love it.
That bass snarl is amazing! Metallica have done well in Robert Trujillo.

The Beethoven's 5th of our age!
Don't compare Beethoven to Metallica, that's dumb.
MrTheMark21 Plus, all of Metallica's songs sound the same.
111highgh Not true. I actually like Metallica, but comparing to Beethoven is straight up blasphemy.
111highgh i think its iron maiden...
abcdead Plus, all of Metallica's songs sound the same.
Rob Trujillo the closet thing we have to cliff burton
Notice how Lars is starting to walk like Ozzie.
@headbanger667 he needs the energy.. any normal human would pass out trying to play a metallica set list.
Awesome video, remove the fucking logo and it´s perfect
Nobody could replicate Lars's drumming if he left the band, cause he is the only fit, if a new guy came in and played the songs perfect that would be boring and everyone would say I miss Lars's sloppy drumming, he is the only fit for James Hetfield's riffs and Kirk and Rob he is Metallica.
Agree
Finally someone who gets it
Why Rob's Guitar is so big?
1:05 Lars eats a banana, how metal is that!

@headbanger667 He's hungry
