Yes, there is a train (Metro de Panamá) that leaves from the airport and takes you to the city for less than 1 dollar

The cab guy lied to you. There is a train that connects the airport with the downtown area of Panamá city. You would have to take line 2, it has a cost of 0.50 cents, and transfer to line 1 that has a cost of 0.35 cents. Plus if you wanted to go by car, Uber was the best option. It would have cost you like 15$ the ride. The taxi guy scammed you.

Helpful tip. Do you have to buy & top-up a metro card or can Visa cards be used to pay for the train?

Yup they got me too! Taxi will drive up the price unless you negotiate! Uber is 18 bucks, the metro 35 cents!
The train it was open and also uber it's like $10 less than thay bus guy......
Never ask a taxi driver about information, he lied to you, there is a train "Metro" and it takes you to downtown for 85 cents.

It's easy for some guys to say he should have used train, but the guy is new and it's not easy for him since he probably doesn't speak Spanish and is first time arriving but most airport nowadays in capital cities are connected with trains
You got ripped off by that guy. The train station was open, only thing you had to do was to walk further. Airport taxi people can’t be trusted because of the prices and they will lie all the way just to get your business. Same thing happens in every Latin American/Carribean airport. This is why I always take Uber or I research ahead for a cheaper way.
Correct. The airport could do a better job with signage indicating how to get to the metro as well.

First time I go to Panama. Good video until you miss the most important parts " Do I have to pick my luggage first then go to immigration????. Where exactly is immigration located?? Is immigration located before luggage belt or right by luggage belt???. or I go to imigration first then pick up my luggages at the belt, then go take a taxi??Thank u x your attention
