It's vastly different than Sierra Nevada. Much harder here. Even Mount Russell Catwalk seems easier to me than Stewart. GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN! Eldorado Peak is another mind-blowing view. Mountain Matt video with plane flying by was a banger.
I still have video from climbing this in 2012. I have climbed Longs Peak in Colorado ( 14er scramble) and Mount Adams. Mt Stuart is still the most difficult. Most people don’t know its supposedly *ONLY* class III, but the steep snow can be treacherous. I slipped on the way down, but thank god I was able to self arrest. Looks like deeper softer snow for you.
Great vid! A friend and I went up two days before you and I've been having trouble describing the early season conditions to my friends. This is perfect! Thanks.
I have been up there a couple of times years ago and I am planning another 2 trips this summer (Cascadian and Ulrich) .I was wondering if you saw space for a bivy sac at or near the summit. I seem to remember a flat spot west of the large summit boulder but it was 15 years ago so my memory could be faulty.

Congrats! I’m always impressed by that mountain seeing it from Lake Ingalls.
Thank you! It does look beautiful from Lake Ingalls and many far away peaks as well.
What a steep climbing on the snow!! Amazing view from the top!! Mountain goats!!

Thank you for the incite. Im looking at peaks to climb this summer 😊
One of your best videos, ever! Fantastic climb and perfectly edited video. Nice narrative sequence. Loved that you included down climbing, too.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on making this summit. I'm always impressed with the frequency that you get out and as in this video, some hard peaks.
Thank you! We really enjoy spending time outdoors.
@@hikeart on the summit your partner was talking on the radio. What’s that about?

Impressive!

This was excellent!!

It was odd looking directly at Mount Stewart from Burroughs at Sunrise. Unfortunately, my titanium knees ain't doing this anymore.
Death Cornice. Yikes. The rookies may walk to edge of that. Death trap.
Excellent job! BTW it is 2870m.
Thank you! Oops! Thanks for catching that ;)
Yep, one of the few peaks in the state that went up in the rankings when Mount Saint Helens blew.
