Her death affects me so much even though I was only 5 when she passed and I only discover her after I saw her movie when I was like 10. I've never cried this hard over a celebrity's death before. It's as if she's my family or friend. I still cry over her death after all these years and I guess I will never be over it.
When Suzette was talking about how it's hard, and she miss her I really started to tear up. And I wish they played her music on the radio in New Jersey.
I choked up as well, it must be so hard, it's difficult sometime to remember that before being a huge superstar she was a daughter, a sister, a wife, family member or friend to so many close to her... I can't even imagine how much it must hurt for them if we as fans feel so strongly about her and many of us never even had the opportunity to meet her.

I never met her, I wasn’t even born when her feet walked this earth. But I have this loving connection with Selena I cannot describe I get sad when I realize she isn’t on this earth anymore. She radiates so much happiness, just by looking at her , listening to her voice. She takes you back to the 90’s , when life was simple, no fancy electronics, no autotune, no social media , beautiful nature & people living a more aware life. She was a very conscious happy woman. Her memory is so alive & has so much power, that it often feels like she is still here. & you have to be one heck of a woman in your 23 years of life, to give that feeling to others who never even met you, or lived in your era. R.I.P Selena, you are my role model for life, you remind me how beautiful life really is, & how you should value your time here on this earth. ❤️ siempre Selena 💜
I even love some of her Hispanic songs even though I don’t know Spanish lol. I get excited when I’m in a Mexican restaurant and one of her songs come on . I’m like it’s Selena and something I actually know . She is so missed
Why do ppl keep feeling the need to mention that they're either white or blk??? You Americans are WEIRDLY obsessed w race. Who cares if most of her fans were Hispanic? It doesn't mean they ALL were!
She was 1 of my favorite women to look up to when I was growing up...I was born in 1984, so I even remember listening to her on the radio & watching her music videos...her music still gives me the goosebumps...I loved how she carried herself, along with her music & how her beauty was so humbly wonderful, she was 1 of a kind...as I got older I became obsessed with her story & appreciated her even more as a woman...I am not Latino but her struggles touched me & her life being taken, broke my heart, still bothers me n makes cry...thank you for being a positive woman to look up to for me Selena ☆☆☆
Yeah they do. In fact when SELENA came onto the stage singing BBBB in that black jacket and black pants outfit with her beautiful long black hair lying loose on her face she reminded me of AALIYAH. 😍
She had buckets of personality. And talent. Her soul shone outward. She lived exactly the life she was here to live. Her life was cut short, which is sad, but her flame burned all the brighter for it!
I'll never forget the day I got to see her live . here in Austin Texas. I really didn't want to go because I wasn't into. Tejano music. But my brother convinced me to. And I'm so grateful for that. We actually met her. it was awesome. Sadly she was killed a month later. Rest in peace.
I think the reason why Selena's memory still lives on is because she loves you, too. Truly a blessed angel with a beautiful song to sing for everyone ❣
The good die young and Selena was definitely that. I wasn't aware of her during her lifetime I was a child. I began to know about her after the movie and watching her behind the music on VH1. I found out that we shared to same birthday April 16 which is cool to me. I love all of her music even though I'm not fluent in spanish I enjoy it all the same. It is such a shame how her life was taken so young and unexpected. Her music and beautiful spirit will live on forever RIP Selena!
I know I found out about Selena about a year after she died and you're absolutely right it is a damn shame that her life was cut short at the age of 23. I can't understand why Selena's murderer did what she did to her and I'll probably never understand but all I know is Selena is and always will be my girl. I must say that you sharing the same birthday with her is a huge honor you should be so lucky.
kia p davis No doubt no way anyone can make sense of her death. She had everything in the world going for her and it was taken. I totally believe she would have been big in the english market. When you think about it she was a trend setter besides her music . She had the fashion line plus she was doing some acting an all around artist. Yes I do feel lucky about the birthday thing. In a small way even though I never meet her I have that connection :)
Patrick Small Oh yea Selena would've skyrocketed now 20 years later and way more popular probably then any of the Latin singers now. She would've launched the perfume she was working on on and was supposed to go to the meeting the week after she died. Selena would've had the family she always dreamed of having 5 kids and a lot bigger and better things. Her murderer was so jealous obsessed and envious of her she fired all of Selena's employees she didn't like she stole 100,000 dollars maybe more and embossed her name on all Selena's credit cards and boutique cards. And Selena did nothing to deserve that I've seen the movie with Jennifer Lopez who did Selena and I cry damn near every time I watch the ending. Have you heard best I can by Chris Perez it was a beautiful tribute to Selena I cry when I hear that song because I can feel Chris's pain behind loosing the love of his life. I know I'm a crybaby but it's very emotional for me to listen to.
kia p davis Absolutely, Selena would have had much more success with her career and business. I'm sure her and Chris would of had beautiful children together and Best I Can is a good song too. I don't think your a crybaby I don't think your human if you don't it emotional at the end of Selena.
Patrick Small Selena said she wanted 5 children and she and Chris would be doing so many things that they've always dreamed of. Taking trips, making more music in fact the day Selena died she was supposed to go to the hotel room get the missing bank statements and then go to the studio to record more tracks for her English crossover album she was working on. And we're just talking about the music she made and like you I'm not fluent in Spanish but I love all her music.
I hate that people say: “She passed away”. She didn’t “pass away”… she was murdered. She was taken too soon. ❤️ She definitely would have been a person a lot of these artists today would collaborate with. 🌹
AB's memory of her made me laugh sooo hard. i think we all have that one sibling that pulls the "i just want one bit" card. i love their family. just so relatable 😂
We absolutely love her here in Spain. The fact that she brought the spanish language to a mainstream in America is amazing. May she Rest In Peace. We will forever love her. May god bless her soul. 🇪🇸🙏🏼🇲🇽
Viviana Martinez there are a few I found I rather not explain the details of what they said, but there was Howard stern who made fun of her death when she got shot, he talked about it on his radio station with people laughing in the back ground, but that shouldn’t matter there’s a lot of hateful people out there, she was too kind for this world anyways.....
ever since i was a little kid she touched me with her music. and now as a man and someone who learned Spanish and met so many wonderful Latinos in my journeys I see how much she meant to them. she was a national treasure.
One song, ONE SONG has made this woman beloved. Please don't misunderstand, but I know (Now) that she was a reg. American, thrust into Hispanic culture and then came back around to the No. American market with ONE SONG!!! She worked all of her life and we (as No. Americans, never mind...gonna say it, as Americans} only got this little princess after ONE song. My mother, born, bread and raised in Ireland was crying one day when I visited her....it was because Senia was gone. This woman, my mother had only done that two other times before or since.. the death of Princess Diana and my mom's youngest son, my baby brother. The impact that Selena had on myself and so many other non Hispanic (okay, Christ I'm gonna go there again...WHITE FOLKS} is/was/still amazing. 20 Years, NOOOO WAY, seems like yesterday. She was just soooo special, I cannot even make words come together that could possibly make anyone understand...but, I have a feeling that you know, you truly know.
I lost a sister while she still had life ahead She was married with two young children there isnt a day I dont think of her and miss her I know she in heaven cause she loved the lord believe in him wait up til last moment on earth It isnt devastating for me as it was for long time I have come to peace with knowing I was blessed to have older sister you never get over them in your thoughts you carry it differently in deeper special way in your heart As I keep growing ⚘

Hazafan88 : You are gonna LOVE it! Make sure you eat at the Hi Ho Mexican restaurant on Morgan Rd, off of Shoreline Blvd. Selena's father goes there every afternoon. I met him there in 2011, and it was AWESOME! There are photos and paintings of Selena everywhere! Also, her sister works at The Selena Museum at 5410 Leopard St., so if you go, you're pretty much guaranteed to meet her. If you visit Selena's grave at Seaside Memorial Park, they sell white roses in the office near the entrance . They were Selena's favorite flower, and it's customary to leave one at her grave when you visit it. Hope you have a great trip!
Selena inspired me as a Mexican-American male to join the military and do something with my life. Stay off drugs, and get my education. Now I'm retired at 33 years old and left Texas and moved to Alaska. Thanks for being a positive role model for me Selena as a Chicano. :)
It's like with my brother who passed almost everything reminds me of him and it sucks he never lived passed 18 and I'm 21 now and sometimes feel like wow I can't believe I outlived him :/ but every time I think of him I smile and remember all the times we had together. I just miss him.
I feel the exact same way about my primo who I grew up with. He was 19 when he passed away and it just breaks my heart because I'm the same age when he has passed and I have a lot of goals to accomplish and I'm sad that he couldn't achieve his...

@I love Kpop I’m 16 and I felt the same way when I started listening to Selena when I was 14. I’m not even if any Spanish decent or anything so I felt scared, but now my whole family listens to Selena in the car together ❤️
as a person who one day wishes to have a family, nothing makes me more sad about this whole tragedy is the fact that chris and selena were so happy and wanted to express their joy by having "animals of their own" like the movie implies, sadly never happened, very very very heartbreaking
The day before her murder, at lunch with her mom & sister, Selena told them that she wanted to have a baby. It breaks my heart that she didn’t get to experience motherhood. Yolanda doesn’t deserve to be paroled in 2025.
This breaks my heart and my makes me cry so much. I feel an emptyness in my stomach when I hear "Dreaming of You". The video was beautiful but damn, it just hits so hard. Prayers and love. Love you so much, Selena. Your legacy lives on baby te amoooo you were so chingona from what I see. Te amamos, siempre estaras en nuestros corazones linda!!!
I DONT CARE HOW MUCH TIME GOES BY OR WHO COMES NXT ........SELENA WILL ALWAYS BE THE QUEEN FOR ETERNAL.. LEGEND WHO NEVER WILL BE DETHROWNED ..I don't think no one would want to take her CROWN
She must had been a true Angel on Earth, I have never seen anyone that sparkles with Love as she did. The devil was not fond of her, as he is of the cruel and evil woman that murdered her in cold blood. But Selina will alway's live on. In our hearts, and with God. She was too Beautiful for this World, and too innocent to think there was real Evil also. Fly with the Angels Selina and sing with the real Stars in the Heavens.
i was born 6 years after Selena had died....when i was 10 my parents heard me listening to her music and they said.."you know that Selena died right" i didnt believe it until i researched it and that was the first time my heart actually pained me...LOVE YOU FOREVER SELENA
I was age 3, when she was killed. I grew up on her movie & Ritchie Valens 'La Bamba'. I was in junior high, maybe hs, when I realized this was a real kind-hearted genuine woman that was killed by such an evil opposition. I will always & forever love you Selena, I only wish I could've met you.
The loss of Selena, that feeling just never gets any easier no matter how many years pass. Her smile, her laughter, her happiness makes you laugh but yet it makes you cry. Her death just has an aire about it that just won't let you go. I've lost loved ones before, but how can someone that you've never met have such a hold on you??? Smh...Maybe we're all stuck in a nightmare and when we wake up she'll be here.
As you can tell Selena was an amazing person in General, Selena is one of a kind. Selena I love you and miss you to this day and I will for the rest of my life
No Latina has topped her. She was extremely talented gave one hundred to everything she dedicated herself to. And ofc she was beautiful inside and out ugh I still cry.
Biggest bullshit. Selena was humble and had success but to say no Latina has topped her is bullshit. Thalia, Paulina Rubio, shakira, jlo, wtf are they? Flies on the wall or what? Selena was special because she had talent and was humble. But that's about it.
@@brianticas7671 hi yes you are right to some degree especially with Shakira. They are successful but not to both the Hispanic and English communities. Thalia tried to become famous in America didn’t go well she would’ve been bigger than she already was if she stayed in Mexico same with Paulina Rubio not a lot of people who speak English know of her unfortunately. JLo never really dabbled in writing Hispanic music she stuck to acting doing the same roles and writing great hits in English. I can go on forever but my point was Selena was known all over the world and successful writing Latin tejano music and began to gain recognition for her talent to writing music in English before her death so that’s what I mean when I say there has been no other Hispanic women to gain that kind of recognition like her.
It's so sad when u really think about she was only 23 and she really gone she would have been 43. right now she is such a inspiration to me I LOVE U SELENA R.I.P my MY QUEEN. ❤💕💔💖💘😪😞😥😘😍😭😢
God! You can't even imagine how difficult is it for that family to carry on this incredible burden of their dear loss. This past school year, I learned that when one of my classmates from my online class told me how her dance group opened up for Selena's brother and it was hard for him to be friendly and content with "the new normal" of living without his little sister. My mother, even, had to explain to me how painful it really is to not only go on with the usual routine of each day, but to go on stage and perform, every time knowing that your closest loved one was (murdered) and too soon before her time, and shared all of the professional and personal moments and possessions that no one can ever understand. This family, including Chris, has been unbelievably strong and graceful, in spite of their circumstances. And that's inspirational to me...
Selena heard the song "Dreaming of you" as her dedication to us,her fans. I believe she wanted us to know she was dreaming of us,singing to us. Always. 🌹
I miss her sm, re-watching this made me realise how big her impact was on the world, she's an inspiration! Dreaming of you will always make me emotional, knowing it was one of her last songs and also the most impactful fills my heart with sm joy, she seemed so beautiful inside and out, I wish she could of passed away peacefully and not in pain & suffering but her legacy lives on, love u Selena

As an African American,I love Selena and admire her.If I hadn’t moved to Texas,I probably wouldn’t have known about her.
@Kitty Kelly because most of her fan base is Mexican or Hispanic….
I feel she touched many of us of all colors . Her story inspires many of us to not give up on our dreams
@@jordanfarris2167 so what? There's no need to mention you're blk. Selena had a LOT of blk fans. It's no big deal. Good music is good music.
Dreaming of you triggers everyone. God.... you knew how much people loved her.
Every time l hear that song my heart sinks and i get chills. I feel her presence every time i play it
Nobody was like Selena. Forever in our hearts ♡
the world can learn alot from this woman, humbleness and kindness, she was one in a million! we miss you Selena 🌹🌹
Her music gives me cold chills. And she had the prettiest smile that could light up every room she went in. Angel took way to soon
2017..... I still tears up. She was an angel on earth.
Is it me or does Aaliyah and Selena have the same million dollar smile?
Yeah they do. In fact when SELENA came onto the stage singing BBBB in that black jacket and black pants outfit with her beautiful long black hair lying loose on her face she reminded me of AALIYAH. 😍

Yes. I could only imagine the music and talent they'd be giving us if they were alive today ❤️ Rest in peace sweet souls 🙏
No one can replace selena's amazing smile
Actually I think Selena’s smile was more like Marilyn Monroe
My Mexican reina .. there will never be another Selena!! One of my favorite artists of all time ❤
I'm crying. I miss her so much, wish she was still alive.. she's such a beautiful angel :( 💘
Hola rachelle eres muy bella me llamo Heriberto soy mexicano vivo en los Ángeles CA
A wish cant undo death sadly
5 years after your comment and I'm crying too🥀🤍
She had buckets of personality.
I would love to visit Corpus Christi and give my condolences to Selena's family

WOW, SELENA was so much In LOVE with Chris.......AND Chris with Selena.......PURE LOVE
She was murdered. But I think it's easier for her family and loved ones to speak about it by saying "she passed". It's less painful.
AB's memory of her made me laugh sooo hard. i think we all have that one sibling that pulls the "i just want one bit" card. i love their family. just so relatable 😂
My favorite story too!! lol

The fact that she brought the spanish language to a mainstream in America is amazing. May she Rest In Peace.
We will forever love her. May god bless her soul. 🇪🇸🙏🏼🇲🇽
there is not one human being that ive heard or seen say anything negative about her. she is loved internationally and will always be loved!
Read the book Selena secrets she wasn’t perfect just saying
After all these years, I am blessed to be part of the intro of this video with my piano. Thank you, Billboard & Q-Productions.

Selena lives forever
Siempre espero los subtítulos...!!.. por favor...!!
ever since i was a little kid she touched me with her music. and now as a man and someone who learned Spanish and met so many wonderful Latinos in my journeys I see how much she meant to them. she was a national treasure.
“ when she loved , she loved hard “ 🥺 her smile and laugh are so contagious ! she was always happy ♥️
omg, the picture that read 'adios selena' - i really got choked up with that one ....
Tricia Aguirre, there is a song called "Adios Selena".
I lost a sister while she still had life ahead
She was married with two young children there isnt a day I dont think of her and miss her I know she in heaven cause she loved the lord believe in him wait up til last moment on earth
It isnt devastating for me as it was for long time
I have come to peace with knowing I was blessed to have older sister you never get over them in your thoughts you carry it differently in deeper special way in your heart
As I keep growing ⚘
If only somebody had been that day with her to protect her :(
@@JessicaandJack Selena snuck out while Chris was asleep that morning. By the time he found out Selena bled to death. What blows my mind is that it took not one, not TWO, not THREE but FOUR tries to kill Selena. How Yolanda lasted after all that shit is amazing.

its very emetional to see that she had lots of plans, and wasnt able to do it in life .. rest in peace Selena
Today....March 31st 1995....the day that she died...it hurts me a lot how she is gone....i wish she was here with all of us....i started to cry while listening to dreaming of you and i could fall in love and como la flor...this part of the song of i could fall in love hit me hard " tomorrow will you want me still" that part hit hard on me i cried a lot because we all want her still....i wish she was here....
I'm visiting Corpus for a few days in March. The Selena Museum and Q Productions are the first stop for me.
you don't understand how jealous I am right now of you ,can I come with ?????? LOL
@@selfan4evr These are good advices, thank you..🙏
Selena was obviously too good for this world. 💟
Selena inspired me as a Mexican-American male to join the military and do something with my life. Stay off drugs, and get my education. Now I'm retired at 33 years old and left Texas and moved to Alaska. Thanks for being a positive role model for me Selena as a Chicano. :)
Thank you so much for your service!! God Bless You!!🙏🏼🇺🇲🙏🏼🇺🇲

as a person who one day wishes to have a family, nothing makes me more sad about this whole tragedy is the fact that chris and selena were so happy and wanted to express their joy by having "animals of their own" like the movie implies, sadly never happened, very very very heartbreaking
Tierrez her babies would have been beautiful.
The day before her murder, at lunch with her mom & sister, Selena told them that she wanted to have a baby. It breaks my heart that she didn’t get to experience motherhood. Yolanda doesn’t deserve to be paroled in 2025.
Selena will never die as long as we keep her memory alive

She must had been a true Angel on Earth, I have never seen anyone that sparkles with Love as she did. The devil was not fond of her, as he is of the cruel and evil woman that murdered her in cold blood. But Selina will alway's live on. In our hearts, and with God. She was too Beautiful for this World, and too innocent to think there was real Evil also. Fly with the Angels Selina and sing with the real Stars in the Heavens.

The loss of Selena, that feeling just never gets any easier no matter how many years pass. Her smile, her laughter, her happiness makes you laugh but yet it makes you cry.
You’re so gorgeous

She was absolutely gorgeous
God wanted her home. God Bless. She was one of the greatest singer.
Always. 🌹
I Love you always SELENA!
I miss her sm, re-watching this made me realise how big her impact was on the world, she's an inspiration!
