I tried riding it for almost a year, but kept going back to my other boards. Personally it just doesn't click with me. Some people may like the decks, but it's not for my skateboarding style...
That’s where u fucked up for tryna ride it almost a year that shit lost its pop awhile ago. I switch my decks out every couple months since I don’t ride it every day I only ride it for an hour or so at the most when I do ride it and it’s jus low impact shit. Like ledges and rails and small little sets and primitive doesn make any twin shapes cuz none of there riders ride twin shape. And your last comment is wild. U do know all there skaters is street tech skaters right. U seen what Shane and prod can do flat ground trick wise?? They got no problem doing all them crazy switch and nollie regular fakie tricks. So for u to say there boards are better for transition and big 180 spins is crazy. Cuz there hole team can get down when it comes to flipping the board and none of them skate tranny at all. Old traditional popsicle skateboards always had a smaller tail with bigger nose it’s All preference at the end of the day and jus an fyi when u was mentioning doing tail slides that’s the nose but if u didn like it u didn like it at the end of the day it’s ur preference
They are steep. I’ve laid them side by side with like 6 other deck companies. Than are even steeper than bakers “ b2” squared nose and tail steep concave decks
I agree I kept trying my primitive deck and I got so agrivated I just couldn’t skate it anymore none of my tricks were clicking my skating was very off especially my flip tricks
That’s just one deck. Primitive has all kinds of shapes. I’m 6.4 235 pounds and these boards hold up great. People tend too not pay attention too wheel base. But if you get the right fit nothing will feel delayed or clunky.
Had the same problem with primitive decks. Art is 🔥 but the everything else sucks. Especially the water log feeling when not exposed to water at all. Wild.
How the whole graphic still there? You just doing flat ground? What kind of skating are you doing? How long have you been skating? Do you know there’s more than 1 shape for primitive? Do you know that most of the collab boards are pressed in china on far lower quality wood? Do you know that most people don’t like a symmetrical shape? Do you know what wheelbase is? Do you know that different truck brands change the way the board works? Do you know about fingers of flat? Do you know that foot positioning should change with kick angle? A lot of stuff to learn before an actual informative “review” should be put out. Do what you do player, but you’ve got a long way to go.
@darthdesec9574 oh forsure. Ben changed my skateboarding forever. I used to not care about any those measurements, and that was to my detriment. How foolish I was
@@Michaelanthony209 i watch ben too. and most people actually like symmetrical. also i literally complained about wheel base for this board and theres no fingers to flat with primitive. hence why i switched to real decks again, better wood, more fingers to flat, and more symmetrical ( not perfectly symmetrical). and most of the skating i do is flip tricks, manuals, grinds and boxes, stairs and drops, and so on. if you watched ben enough, youd know he also says that steep kicks are terrible for manual tricks. hence why i didnt like the primitive. i mention that some people will like it if they do long delayed high popped ollies and other tricks.
@@PhaseSkater not a word was said about wheelbase or fingers of flat in this video.. Real and Primitive have the same wood. The collab boards, which you “reviewed”,are mostly pressed in China on sub par wood but still BBS.. not sure where your from, but I live in California. I be in Sacramento, Oakland, SF, and all over my local valley area. Ain’t nobody skating a symmetrical shape lol. The homies own a skate shop in Oakland and nobody buys their symmetricals. They gave them out in contests cause no sales.. what I’m saying is you should know more of what your talking about before putting a “review” out there. This is misinformation
It’s a personal review. And I usually mention wheel base in every other board review. The primitive in this video had the shortest wheelbase out of all the models and it still didn’t do too much. It’s just a personal preference. And I didn’t say I like perfectly symmetrical shapes. I said I like when the difference isn’t huge and the board doesn’t look like a platypus tail. I usually ride baker boards and the REAL r1 decks. They aren’t symmetrical. The nose is still a little longer than the tail. It’s just the curvature of the nose and tail are similar. This primitive board had a fat squared nose but a skinny narrow tail. It made no sense. I prefer a board that still has a bigger and longer nose. I just like the shapes to be similar. ( I skate my boards backwards too, so my tail is actually the bigger part versus the nose. Better flicks, more pop and control. )
I usually always ride and 8.25, and most company’s have a 14.25” wheel base for 8.25, I’ve been skating 8.25 primitive boards recently and they are 14” wheelbase, and I feel like the shorter wheelbase and shape of the nose really mess with my nollie tricks, like I can’t find the right timing, but everything else works great for me on the board
I love there decks all decks are 70 bucks now and days. That board is jus old they loose pop and primitive doesn have any twin tail boards cuz none of there riders ride twin tails
The nose is the larger side. It’s meant to catch your foot.
Literally haven't noticed anything different about these boards you're just nuts man

For u to say there aren’t responsive for flip tricks let alone them quick flip tricks and there more catered to tranny skating is not true
have you tried Baker if so what do you think about it?
@@BackwoodChongyeah and he keeps saying they’re steep concave when all I seen is that primitive is mellow
They are steep. I’ve laid them side by side with like 6 other deck companies. Than are even steeper than bakers “ b2” squared nose and tail steep concave decks
Your hair looks really great!!
Lol best comment ever really
Many people get primitive boards just to hang on the wall.
Facts 😭
Just got an itatchi deck just to go on my wall
That’s how my chocolate deck felt! I wasn’t sure if it was me or the deck. Had steep kicks, felt water logged from day one, and had a shitty shape
Chocolate is coming out with new shapes this year
I love skateboarding my size 8 primi with silver m class trucks and formula 4 spitfires. But it's 2023 so times changed.
I agree I kept trying my primitive deck and I got so agrivated I just couldn’t skate it anymore none of my tricks were clicking my skating was very off especially my flip tricks
Agreed felt less of a pop than other boards I tried. Kinda a soggy soft feel.

It’s probably the steep nose and tail that messes up the timing for nollie tricks. Not the wheel base
Lol what
A bad tradesman always blames his tools.
It’s a review… your logic states that an HP laptop is the same as an MSI gaming laptop lol
Why would you buy a shape you don't like? Say nothing about the company wood quality - it's just your own preference.
I didn’t know the shape was like that. The deck was on sale and I heard a lot about primitive and figured I’d try it
@@PhaseSkater fair enough :)
I agree i dont like these shapes 100% spot on very unstable shapes
The decks are like $50s, or $75 off sale. How is that expensive? Were they more expensive in the past?
Yes
Depends on whats available too, the do mostly collabs as of right now and they are around 80

Definitely your first day on a skateboard just by the way you described the nose and tail
God so much disinformation
They make twin tails, maybe pick the right board instead of complaining clown.
Steep kick is still steep kick
