I wish Steve had done more paintings on the show. You can see how easily he handles the brushes, his confidence and control.
If they hadn’t been screwed over maybe he’d have been in charge and doing tutorials online and on PBS. Etc.

Aw, no. It was mostly about Bob's voice. The hair - could be fixed, the voice was just unique. It's why he easily surpassed his old teacher in popularity.

I really like how slowly Steve paints--I can see what he is doing better. Some of the technique goes by too fast for me when Bob paints.
Agreed! it's even more mesmerizing to watch. The same thing happens with Dana Jester's episodes, he mixes his paints sooo slowly, it makes me feel sleepy.

Thanks Bob and Steve. I grew up watching a 10 channel tv with basic cable. I tuned one channel to opb and would watch bob ever chance I got. I never painted but just loved to watch his creations. We all miss you bob! God bless everybody, much love ❤️

We all had much love and respect For Bob Ross for his Peacefulness and his concern for his "Happy little Friends" but our Love and Respect 1000x'd over after watching him alongside his Son Steve.

The way Bob and Steve paint are incredible! They take a blank canvas and and turn it into a magnificent piece of art that you would love to have hanging on your wall. When either one starts to add more to any one of their paintings, I want to scream, "No, don't ruin it!" Until I see how their imagination works.

i used to watch Bob. 20 some odd years ago. I used to fell asleep. Today, i have found it to be peaceful and relaxful. Bob relaxes me before sleep

First episode where someone else painted. I've been watching an episode a night and I'm so excited for the many upcoming episodes I'll get to watch. These are great painting lessons without a doubt but they're also very calm and relaxing and help a great deal with my insomnia. I'm learning a lot along the way as well even if I've never painted before in my life.
It's taken me 5 months to get to this episode as I keep falling asleep

I liked this show where he answered questions on letters. For me water is the toughest. He makes it look easy. I get scared trying to pull down the brush from the shoreline at the top into the water to create reflection. But I've found even a bad job of that is better than no reflection. And lightness in the center of the water helps too.
I wish my dad would have been as cool as Bob. 🌸

Okay but that whole bushy area was a mess especially the reflections. I could tell Bob was like nO STEVE.
I see what happened! Steve dipped his brush into the paint thinner just before he started to pull the reflections down, probably to clean his brush. But then Bob told him to make the reflections, so he went ahead and did it while his brush was still wet.
Well... that was a happy little accident
