A Serene & Scenic Walk in a Cotswold Village

- So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and former parish of Coln Rogers, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The parish merged with Coln St Dennis in 1935. Four years prior to that the population stood at a number of 95.
Coln Rogers is on the River Coln. The village church is dedicated to Saint Andrew. During WWI all of the soldiers from the village survived the conflict, the village then became known as "The thankful village".

I don't know if you realize, but the walks mean a lot to people who don't get to see places like this. The UK and its neighbors are beautiful and so rich with history. I doubt I'll ever see it in person. Thank you for these.

A beautiful frosty walk. Thank you, as ever, for all your work. The dawn light at the beginning of the film is particularly lovely. The smoke catching those golden hues is just magical. I particularly love the way you walk into it for a moment and the world dissolves into an abstraction of Paradise before you turn and resume your walk. Just a joy. I haven't been online as much recently and may have missed a video or two but I shall be catching up. This is a perfect example of why I follow your channel even though I live just down the road from these wonders. I love the 14:33 mist over the water and then another magnificent view at around 18:30 of the sun gleaming in shards of gorgeousness on the flooded grass. Quite amazing. Winter at its best.

My what icy steps you make, liken a straw jabbing into a snow cone. Such handsome paddocks who's railings and stone fence gleam in the morning sun. Splendid ranch this is, I'd like to meet the owner and his hands, sit and listen to their chore discussions. You seem to know where all the slip of passages are, don't you. Your winter sky there is the same here, whitish (summer deep blue). Yikes! How tall you are SirStiltLegs, your shadow self morfed in the wee morning sun! I, can tell, you are very enchanted with Coln Rodgers, no? (ME TOO) A man after me own heart, you know it, looking through gates, over fences, kneeling by waters...what grand scenes we would've missed. 🤔Ya know? I've never much thought of winter, kinda the dead season, but YOU Sir🕶️ have changed me mind by quietly showing me her imperialness. Rodgers too is rather royalish, built and kept with dignity. I like her indeed.

Your post popped up early here, today- probably around the same time of day as when it was filmed- and as I am not working today (not for pay, anyway), I was able to watch it in its entirety, all at one time. I love walks at dawn (both virtual ones and real ones), and the lovely sunrise was there to be enjoyed by you, the horses, and the dog (the latter of whom was heard, but not seen). Seeing the swans on the pond was a real treat! I have read that swans in the wild are present here in NY state, but I have never observed one in the wild, and it was great to see these two graceful waterfowl placidly swimming in the calm waters. Hopefully one day I will have the experience of actually encountering one in person. (Canada geese are another story here, though- they abound, year-round! Many is the time that I and others have sat in our respective cars on roadways, waiting for a line of them to cross over, and geese do not hurry for anyone- unless, of course, they are chasing you!). Anyway, the walk was delightful, as always- charming village scenes, nice details in all the surroundings, peaceful pathways to be seen and enjoyed. Thanks for posting your walk.

how old these buldings .think more then 300 years right?
