Dominic West is incredible. At 07:28 he asks "Is this a Napa wine?" incredulously and the host answers "It is." Well, Mr. West's knowledge is shining through because Decoy Red Wine 2019 should not be categorized at all as a Napa wine. The fact sheet on it states that only 6% of the grapes are Napa, dwarfed by the percentage of Sonoma and Central Coast and coming in fourth after Mendocino.
Duckhorn vineyards and winery is based in St Helena, Napa Valley. It is and describes itself as a Napa wine maker. The grapes may be grown elsewhere but their Red Blend is a classic Napa wine. But we’ll done for googling and checking out the tech sheet. Delighted we have inspired you to learn more.
@@meljappy Duckhorn, yes. But this is Decoy and the brand certainly does not describe itself as Napa. When it first appeared as Duckhorn's second-label (the 1985 vintage) it was made in Napa but that hasn't been the case for many years now. It doesn't change the point being made on the show that the Bolgheri came into its own because of the red blend model. However it is inaccurate that the Decoy wine tasted on this episode is Napa and again from viewing Mr. West's expression, I salute his palate in picking up on that. You are 100% correct though in the show inspiring me learn more, I'm very new to wine and I just love its history. Mr. West and the host have a great rapport. I can't wait to watch all the episodes in their entirety as well as the previous ones with the two Matthews. Thank you!
Please make more of these shows; we in the States LOVE 'EM!

Oh I so missed Matthew Goode....
Ahhh...well, you never know what the future holds. ☺
Love the content, but when the music kicks in, it completely drowns out the voiceover.
McNutty loves his booze.
I thought McNulty was a jameson drinker !
Drop the music levels please. Damn that's irritating
