"is the juice worth the squeeze" feel like I learn a new phrase every video lmao, nice work!
He got me saying " I say that to say this " all the time
@@PopePlatinumBeats "I say that to say this" feels very familiar, but I'm damned if I can place it. Like something I heard in a Ron White standup special.
Watch “The Girl Next Door”!
@@aaronykam very underrated comedy, one of my favorites.
I feel bad for anyone that bought this based off the photos.
I was impressed by the photos until I saw the absurd length of his legs. Glad I passed on it.
Me!!! :(
I don't. Lol
It looks like the silver bit that popped off is the right horn that sits on the top of the cab above the right window, looks like it just popped out while that part was upside down.
This just pisses me off. I want to love, it looks insanely good, but it’s just a clumsy mess to handle. It annoys me how close this figure is to being phenomenal.
If your main instability issue is the chest and upper torso flopping around when you go to pose the figure, check ua-cam.com/video/GukXauYgESo/v-deo.html. No way around the floppy wrists, most of the other joints except for the shoulders are fairly tight.
@@dankmemer2774 There are a few things you can do to fix loose ball joints.
UnChannelDuVulpineX not deez tho. I tried multiple methods. The problem with deez is that the ball joint is far too small for the socket and there is a lot of empty space in between the connection.
It is quite an amazing figure. Joints are solid out of the box but if you jiggle the figure to much yeah it will unhinged a little.
Kohn Futner while this figure has its strengths such as paint job an accessories, I’m not going to pretend like he doesn’t suck just because I anticipated him for over a year ever since pre production images and spent the money to buy him. Having a lot of accessories and articulated fingers means squat with loose wrist joint since he can’t hold the weapons properly or any hand pose for that matter. The transformation is complex in a bootie cheek sorta way because of all the clearance issues. Not a terrible figure, but for $200+ , I expect a lot more.
MP 44 was one of the ones listed as a more satisfying transformation mp 44 that us hilarious to me
Mann!! He looks absolutely fantastic!! As always great video review!🌟
Good lord... that transformation looks crazy... very happy with my 3a prime. Thanks for the hard work that went into this review.
Nice video Mr. Skullface! Appreciate the shawshank redemption reference :)
I'm exhausted just watching that transformation.
This transformation is suspenseful! I swear I thought this guy was gonna break! But, the parts keep popping off! Lol!!
Appreciated the detolf and 1/6 scale comparison. Also appreciated the konami code drop to let us know however elitist you get youre still a lovable nerd at heart.
Wei Jiang M09 Commander was an amazing transformation.
Me being the EXTREME minority here. I like the figure. I absolutely agree with all of the issues people have pointed out and I have experienced them. For better or worse I got past it all and have fun with it. Some TLC and some floor polish and it gets the job I want done. Those hard rubber trigger hands can eat a bag though.
I am so glad that I decided to cancel my pre-order from Show Z. I was initially very excited when I made the order and saw some initial reviews. However the more I read on this guy the more I felt like my super-great-deal pre-order was a dud in the making. I had such high hopes for this guy... Maybe they'll fix him with a version 2. And what was with the name change from "Freedom Leader" to "Tactical Waistcoat"?
Great review, as always, Bobby! Your thoughts just solidified what I had already expected. Keep on keepin' on!
I've got the deluxe version, it's really good!
Not going to lie, was waiting for this review for Bobby to do. Was not disappointed lol. Those fingers Mac.
The silent anger in this video is amazing.
I like that you said Select start during the Konami code as it shows you had friends to play with.
That gun sounds like a sick budgie 😂
I rememmeber being so excited for this guy and i saw the reviews of him when he was first coming out and heard good things but ended up going with the threea. (Cause i was gonna end up only displaying him in robot mode) And im glad i did
I have the Zeta bee and this scales nicely with it. I can understand the idea of psychologically needing one that transforms, that’s probably me. And hey, for all the size and looks of this guy it’s still way cheaper than MP44 *shudders*
From what I have seen you are the only reviewer that addresses the incredibly loose ball jointed wrists. They are such a pain in the ass.
Damn, I was hoping for a slamdunk.. it looked so good.
I must be one of the luckier ones.
Likewise, the wrists are floppy (though wielding the rifles with both hands can get around that) but the only trouble I have transforming him is the the clearance when rotating the head/Collar. Everything else is clipping in as one would hope. Converted him back & forth 4 times so far
Man I can’t wait to get this guy
I have the deluxe version, it's great!
UnChannelDuVulpineX how did you get the deluxe version?I don’t think it’s out yet
Great review.....nightmare of a transformation
Bad review, I enjoyed the transformation.
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX 😅😆🤣😂😘
Oh I just learned something. Word of the day is Tertiary. Thx Unkle SkullFace...
Just don't pronounce it the way Bobby does. 😅

I'm glad I normally don't go for Bayformers. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
Breno Ferreira Ferreira ? This isn’t Bayformers...
@@Optimus-Prime-Rib Who is this then? Isn't it from the movies? Ok you're right I should have said from the live action movies... it's all the same for me, it's not my thing!!!

Bobby mispronounced sword as 'sord'
it's supposed to be 'sUword' 🙃
Well, that's the Trishiary way of saying it.
@@drewlovelyhell4892 LMBO, I heard that too
Oxford English dictionary says otherwise. It is pronounced exactly as 'sord'.
@@personmcperson5740 He was joking. It's one of Bobby's little foibles (no pun intended).
@@personmcperson5740 you must be new here 🙃
The eyes on the 3a head light up if you press the crest on his head.
I would get this if I cared about movie stuff. It looks really good, it does transform (a requirement for me, even though I will never transform it. I know I'm weird) and it has a ton of different looks. I never will because I don't care for movie figures and don't have any. But, I could see getting this at a reduced price or on sale one day and putting it alone in another room as a stand alone figure.
Ruh roh. Looks like a guaranteed shoe in for Most Disappointing 3P Release of 2020. Can the 3A Bumbleprime solidly hold onto those guns and axes? If y'all come across an ebay listing of this figure in a deluxe edition box sans its armaments, that would probably be mine 👀
Nice review, but I wish you would've mentioned the price and compared it to the others for those of us who don't follow the release of these things hardcore. That being said, I absolutely love the design of this thing and I haven't even seen the movie.
I’m not sure what Toyworld has been doing since their split with Zeta designers. But they haven’t revealed or made anything to grab my interest since then. I’m glad to hear and see that they’re using good materials and painting figures beautifully. But for $260, I’m not even sniffing around for this kind of prime. That’s an insane price.
That thing looks beautiful...as long as you don't move it lol
Genuinely thought that was MP-1 in truck mode 😂😂
Good looking figure, but there sure are a few QC issues I wouldn't expect at that price point, especially the loose wrists. Thanks for the review. That transformation looked painful.
On my deluxe version the sniper rifle doesn't work when you pull the charge cable out...
Great googa mooga! For all the obvious attention that went into this figure, you’d think they’d’ve tried harder to get the weapons to stay in Prime’s hand, let alone have a non-nightmarish transformation. I felt for ya the whole way through that hellscape. Hell, ToyWorld should’ve just taken out the transforming element and made this a standard action figure that, ya know, can actually hold its weapons! 🤣
Bobby "loves gifts and Contra" Face!
Interesting. For all the precision(?) that went into this, I don't see how much this really would be an improvement to just having a Studio Series Optimus Prime on a shelf for several x less money. If it were a REAL short cab diesel that could turn into an Optimus that could then be a lumper for his own trailer, THEN that would be awesome.
😁YO BOBBY... 👉@ 1:11 Thats exactly what i need ..A NEW SMOKE BOX😁
£40 saving on the threezero dlx. I’m glad I passed on this. But I will be eternally gutted that the third party Scorpion prime vanished from the face of the earth. I kept my eye on that toy for nigh on 2 years gutted isn’t the word. Bobby I don’t suppose you heard anything about that transformer did you?.
Great review man thanks for taking the time, bloody shame about the figure.
The pistol reminds me of Robocops gun. That silver piece you have at the end I believe is one of the lights on the roof of the alt mode.
I love the paint and the details on this figure. It just looks amazing. I even kinda like the truck mode. However the abortion that takes place getting from point A to point B is a real turnoff. Tolerances and the fact that you seemed to have to bend or force several pieces past another just sets off all kinds of stress mark warning bells. How long did that actually take you to clean up? I love some complex engineering, but that looked like a QA failure to me. I wanted to love this based on the photos too.
Easy pass for that price and lackluster qc and tolerances..
Greatest video ever.
I was hoping you’d compare it to the 3A one at least proportionally.
ToyWorld Freedom Leader - No Go
Wei Jiang Fire Scorpion - No Go
Toy Lab Dark Knight - Maybe
TransCraft - Last Hope
Love toylab’s truck mode, especially compared to this
The idea of a review is: watch it and buy the figure, no pre-order, and watch the review. Now I have second thoughts. 27:21 the back where the trailer sits is too long, impossible for a trailer to fit.
Finally, a robot with dandruff
I had this and sold it because of how bad the tolerances are and that transformation.
Wow is Prime a hit man with all those guns lol.
Is patina the word you're looking for on those smoke stacks?
Right? Im not sure the smoke stacks were a potato dish.
Can you buy the weapons separate?
Nope
It's not a transformation, you are breaking it
Freedom leader... You can almost hear the spitballing session from here 'how do we brand this to America'? AGHH ? 'Freedom'.. 'That's great what else'... ermmmm...
"FREEDOM is the right of all sentient beings." From the 1984 Tech Specs of G1 Optimus Prime. You were overthinking it.
Was looking to get this, but the price tag is ouch.
I wanted one of these until the 24:00 mark, “Good Night, Dude.”
Just kidding. It was broken before he received it. I still want one. It transforms, while ThreeA does not.
That little silver piece that was rattling around inside of it, it looks like it is one of the lights on the roof of the cab.
Check out the finished truck mode at the end. There is a light missing from the roof of the cab.
Why didn’t you put the windshield wipers on? Also, I have no issue with the gun holding hands, they are there specifically for that reason. Can’t stand how loose the articulated fingers hands though. And the shoulder joints are weak. But apart from that, still an awesome figure.
This made me appreciate my God of War Apex OS SS-38 even more.
I've put Wei Jiang's WJ M09 Bumblebee Optimus on order, after these reviews of Freedom Leader OP...
@@acoote1701 The joints are really weak on WJ-M09.
The gun is a larger one of the one that came with the Hasbro/Takara War for Cybertron Optimus Prime.
I haven’t got to transformation yet and I thank you sir for confirming that this is not a figure I want to purchase. That thing is so flimsy...
It is far from flimsy. The alt mode is solid and looks cool.
That gun sounds like it’s chipping instead of firing!
Why does he sound like 80's Soundwave without the vocoder when he says "Feet"
I still want to see Sun B.'s feet! Yeah, yeah
I have to tell you that it is such a mix bag for me personally.
I managed to get the Deluxe version, and I have to say: get the standard version instead. The extra is really not worth the increase in price imho. The stand is huge and imposing, but the parts are third rate at best. It managed to break off as soon as I put Prime on it. And the transformation is a pain. I have to shave off some of the paint (fortunately on less than visible places) in order for me to transform it properly.
On the other hand, I really, really like the paint. It's gorgeous, it's so well applied, and those brushes and details are just the things make me want to stare at it all the time. In both mode. The sculpt is also great. I have the Aoyi Mech version, and while that one is miles easier to transform, the level of details are just sub par compared to this one. I love it, but I also hate it in so many ways.
That just teaches me to wait for reviews such as yours and THEN make the decision. It was an impulsive buy as the seller just had one stock available and I had the money. For me, fortunately, it still deserves a place on my shelves as I wait for the M09 to arrive (whenever that is going to be).
Great review, and I really feel you when I see you struggle with that transformation.
Cheers.
A well designed piece but halfway they didn't know what to do with the feet, badly constructed, that pretty much sums it up IMO. I didn't even think it could transform just looking at the robot mode.
Yeah the hands are pretty crap on those ball joints, floppy mess.
Missed the window wipers for earth mode and there is a way to lock into the chest but it shouldn't have to be discovered really, it should just plug in. Don't even get me started on the clearence issues for transformation either, like damn!
Also the extra 3A head lights up by pressing the crest :)
This thing has a fair bunch of flaws, luckily I'm not transforming mine so he does his job as a fantastic looking figure.
Better late than ever my modo!!! Glad I didn't get this figure!!!! Thanks!!! 💯🤔
I feel bad for you that transformation looked painful i could feel it coming through the screen
Robot mode is quite accurate considering that there’s a pretty decent truck in there somewhere. Truck has the robot feet sticking out the back, but that’s basically every flatnose prime’s truck mode. Interchangeable earth/cybertronian mode is subtle, but accurate to how it was in the movie. Accessories are over the top, unnecessary, but I appreciate the inclusion. The accessory that does matter is the main rifle, and it’s more accurate than any other BB prime release including the threezero (look at the stock of the rifle, the toyworld version has the wider side of the “pentagon” piece on top, which is accurate. Threezero has the wider side facing the bottom, not movie accurate). Flaws are present: Hands are a floppy mess, head’s attachment is not secure (should have been permanent), some joints needed to be tighter(ratchets would have helped). Overall, figure is a pretty good attempt, best transformable version thus far.
How did everyone get the stock wrong? It's pretty obvious looking at any screenshot of it that it's facing the other way. Same with the details on the mouth plate. Maybe they weren't present on the reference material they were given and they just relied on that too much without looking at the actual movie, but it's weird that we're still getting stuff with inaccurate details well after the movie's release.
Quarax glad that I am not the only one that noticed. SS38 has the same issue with the gun, but $30, so excusable. Threezero deluxe scale prime(doesn’t transform so you would expect max movie accuracy) has it wrong, $200 is pretty high for a mistake like that. Threezero premium scale prime(doesn’t transform as well, so you would also expect max movie accuracy) also has it wrong for $500...two years after the movie came out. The Prime 1 studios statue(doesn’t transform, doesn’t articulate, so max movie accuracy is absolutely demanded) that costs $1800 also has the gun wrong. I know it may not seem like a big deal to some people, but every single OFFICIAL BB movie prime that has ever been released has the gun wrong. The only way for you to get an accurate BB prime’s gun right now is through this 3rd party, unlicensed product that is toyworld freedom leader.
You know I was just thinking,: Where did Transformers get rubber for tires on Cybertron? The planet has no atmosphere.
Lord Mahaveer Maldonado if the atmosphere in tf prime was breathable, why did jack wear the space suit when he went to restore vector sigma?
Lord Mahaveer Maldonado well then how did they make the air breathable? Humans require oxygen which requires plants which were nonexistent on cybertron.
Lord Mahaveer Maldonado You are 100% incorrect on Cybertron having a breathable atmosphere.
Lord Mahaveer Maldonado hypothetically, purifying oxides would yield oxygen. But in actuality, it takes a lot more than that to get breathable oxygen.
You still my guy dude.
Looks really good in robot mode but quality kinda bad
Good thing I canceled my preorder.
Wow! This figure annoyed me just watching you trying to do anything with it! Great review on the figure and of your patients!
DOCTOR Bobby? . . .
*patience. Also, the figure is really good. BSF makes it look difficult.
Great review, this transformation is no fun unfortunately, had to let this piece go
Mine should be here tomorrow! Thanks for doing this one Bobby S.! I know this isn't your favorite version of Prime.
Who did you order from & how long did it take to get to you??
@@OfficialTransformers I ordered from ShowZ. I actually got excited and spoke to soon. It hasn't arrived yet. It shipped on June 28th and should be here any day now though!
It goes to show you that expensive third party figures can be crap too.
I don't think anyone has claimed otherwise
Looks like my first 3p kinda sucks. Feels bad man.
Bobby's or Optimus's? Whose hands are more disturbing?
😅 both of them!
30 lives in Contra...
The hasbro one has(bro) a much better transformation and a Wayyyy better a truck mode.
Otherwise this is goood. (For robot mode)
There is a better way to transform the chest. It locks up the whole top portion of the body. If you can see the white on the flaps above the chest windows you don't have it transformed correctly. The process of getting it correct though is a bitch. www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/toyworld-tw-f09-tactics-waistcoat-freedom-leader.1167378/page-244#post-17959276
i got my Freedom Leader last week and they straight up forgot to include the instructions, idk if they were supposed to be included
but the robot mode looks the best so I just have him posed holding the gun with both hands like in yours to avoid the gun falling and it looks good, i still like it.
EmGo's JTI guide is excellent.
I just ordered the ThreeA BB Prime today cause eff this guy at 279
GCreation....met his match?
Dily daly- cloud ff7👌❤
Maybe I'm just jaded from years of lackluster, underwhelming, unfinished, and weirdly conceived designs from Toyworld, but this release has pretty much been exactly what I've personally come to expect from them; a well sculpted, nicely painted bundle of frustration and disappointment.
I enjoy mine.
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX Then it's a win! I've personally had lots of disappointment with many of my TW items, but if Freedom Leader works for you and makes you happy, that's all that matters, and the fandom is all the better for it!
@@adamluther5836 Yeah! The deluxe version was manufactured after the standard one. Judging by the comments on TFW2005, the deluxe has fewer QC issues. They got better with practice.
Ooof, not encouraging. I would have waited for reviews before buying it, but I found it on preorder for $100 less than everywhere else. I mean, I'm glad I got a good deal on it, but did I really? it was still nearly $200. DX
The paint is excellent, it will look great on a shelf, but for that price, the joints should be smooth but snug, the transformation shouldn't be a nightmare. IDK, might have to sell it when it arrives. If it ever does, yay covid shipping delays.
The only reason I got this over the 3A one, is becaus eit was so much cheaper for me, due to ShowZ's preorder price. :/
The transformation is not a nightmare. BSF makes it look difficult.
Transformation looks painful
I think I'd rather just get the 3A.
So disappointing. I almost got this on an impulse just because of the looks. It's so beautiful and I think it pulls off having an alt mode respectably. However from seeing your experience is looks like a nightmare. Thanks for saving your sanity and skipping cybertronian mode and keep up the awesome work.
EmGo's JTI guide is a much better showing of the transformation.
They should’ve just made this articulate statue
Moochie Collins that’s called an “action figure.”
I agree I was just trying to put some type of twist because it seems like a little bit more than action figure but it is what it is or what it should be
I like your term, "Articulate statue," which pretty much describes so-called action figures by Kenner, early ToyBiz and early McFarlane Toys that were barely posable and can stand in only 1 position. Any joints were just for assembly purposes.
it's a gift and a curse
🤣🤣😂"You there... Drop your weapon"...😂😂 ..THESE AREN'T THE DROIDS YOUR LOOKING FOR😁😁...HARD PASS BRO...
It has his problems but it looks the part I believe it looks almost as good if not as good as the 3A one. Why, you ask, do ppl need it to be able to transform, I believe it's because it's called a Transformer and the character has the ability to transform, besides it's easy to understand how ppl enjoy the engineering required to transform it from one mode to the other (I admit that in this case the engineering wasn't that good). You're a collector of Transforming action figures, action figures, figurines and statues and you can't wrap your head around the fact that even though some collectors wont even transform their figures, they like to know they would be able to do it and that their TF action figures look good in both modes?!!! Are you just playing hard to get on this one or you actually can't understand it. I get why ppl like a non transforming transformer action figure and I also get why even without ever transforming their figures some collectors enjoy the fact their TF action figures can do it. Collecting figures doesn't serve a higher purpose besides the fact that we, the collectors, enjoy owning them, the figures. It isn't a rational well thought matter of fact and the feeling behind it is the exact same as owning a TF action figure that can transform from one mode into the other even if we choose to never use that feature. We don't need it my friend we just like it and some of us even love it.
I just received mine and disappointingly the pin/screw is missing from the right shoulder. It was totally detached on delivery, sealed. Not sure what I'm going to do with it without robo-labral surgery. Also the hands suck.
You could try reaching out for a replacement or the part replacement part needed. If your distributor is overseas, the wait could be a while.
@@dankmemer2774 ShowZ was my supplier so definitely a while, i'll still be reaching out tho
Nicola Aversa oh yeah. Mine too. Took em over 2 months since the day of order to get it to me.......under express shipping.
dang i ordered mine from ShowZ as well, arrival in few weeks or so. Probably would've cancelled preorder if I saw this video first, even though i have no intention of transforming. Neverthess, the robot mode does look really good.
Nicola Aversa how long did it take to get yours from ShowZ? I’m waiting on mine now
I like that it comes with optional weapons, but it's still weird to see Optimus with that much weaponry.
And you thought power baser was bad.
I can appreciate the aesthetic for what it is based on the movie, it looks great but isn’t something that interests me.
I like the aesthetics and design of the robot mode and I’m actually ok with the alt mode except the feet make it too long.
Paint looks amazing and finish looks great, but and it’s a big BUT that transformation is horrific, failure in every way and if I was interested I’m not now
